00:08I'm in the company of Dr. Britta Buchholz from Itachi Energy. Hi!
00:12Hello, good morning.
00:14First of all, you have received fellow awards this year. Congratulations.
00:19What does it represent for you?
00:22Yeah, thank you very much for the congratulations.
00:23You know, I decided a long time ago to do things that I consider right
00:29and not expect any thanks for that.
00:32Working with Siegfried definitely feels really right.
00:35I imagine electricity will be the backbone of the entire energy system
00:39and Siegfried is right at the heart of that.
00:41So when I got this fellow award, I was really overwhelmed.
00:45It was completely unexpected. It means a lot to me.
00:48And I'm really, really grateful to everyone I met on this journey,
00:51to my mentors who opened the door for me,
00:54also to the young people who started their journey,
00:56maybe just now here in Paris,
00:57and also to my company and my managers who really gave me the space
01:01and encouraged me to engage in all these activities.
01:05Regarding this journey with Siegfried,
01:07what would be maybe one of the most memorable moments?
01:11That's a really difficult question.
01:13There were so many incredible moments there.
01:18So maybe the single most exciting was the opening panel in 2016,
01:22where I had the opportunity to chair.
01:25And, you know, in 2016 already we said we must change.
01:28We look at electricity from a different angle
01:31and we must tell the Siegfried community we must change.
01:35And we did that by translating the energy transition into music.
01:40So we had a most memorable opening panel where we had professional musicians
01:45together with the study committee chairs playing minimal music
01:49and telling the whole auditorium,
01:52look, we must address energy transition from different perspectives.
01:57And the message is still here.
01:58We must change.
01:59We must involve other angles, other people to get this energy transformation done.
02:04Yes.
02:05How does it feel to be back in Paris for you and for Itachi Energy?
02:10Wonderful.
02:11Yeah.
02:11Well, you know, last year we were here with only maybe 60 people
02:14in an empty Palais de Congrès.
02:16Yes.
02:16And so it's great to meet everyone.
02:18And you see there's so much positive energy in the room.
02:21So everyone is really excited to be back.
02:23And I'm so happy to meet people again.
02:25So really to touch base and to talk to them and feel the energy.
02:32So for my company as well, it's important really not to talk just over screens,
02:38but really to exhibit our latest technology, which is on our exhibition,
02:44talk to our customers directly, get their feedback directly,
02:48get questions we wouldn't get over an online session and also really discuss in depth.
02:53At the same time, engaging in the conference where we have a lot of our colleagues contributing
02:59to posters, to papers, to the session.
03:01And also they're discussing with the other experts, where's the journey?
03:06How can we manage the energy transformation, form partnerships and really learn together
03:11in this journey?
03:13Thanks a lot for coming by.
03:14Thanks.
03:15Thanks.
03:16You
