00:00Bills go to Vegas, they get the win, they go to the bye at 5-1, 33-30 over the
00:06Raiders.
00:06Good morning, it's Jeremy and Joe.
00:08Maybe you're waking up out west, you got an early flight out of Vegas.
00:12I mean, there's thousands of Bills fans that I'm sure are dealing with that,
00:16as Sal Capaccio is as well, still in Vegas.
00:19There was a little, we had a caller earlier who said there was a plane that went off the runway
00:23yesterday,
00:24like no injuries or anything, but that got some flights last night delayed,
00:28and I don't know if there's carryover in today, but good morning, Sal,
00:31and hope you're not dealing with any nonsense getting back today.
00:36No, me too, I had no idea, was that in Vegas that happened?
00:38It was at the Vegas airport, maybe there would be no carryover to today, it was just last night's flights.
00:43That is literally right across the street from me, that's what I'm saying,
00:46right next to the airport, stadium, in between, I'm over here at the Mandalay Bay Complex,
00:51and it was a 12-minute walk to the stadium, which was great for me yesterday, and back.
00:57And then the airport is kind of like pretty across the street, so.
01:00So the stadium's like right at the end of the strip?
01:04Yeah, right across the street.
01:05Okay.
01:06But it is at the end of the strip, so it's not on the strip, it's like one block away,
01:10there's a freeway, but it is at the end of the strip.
01:14And on the other side of it, on the strip, next to Kitty Corner to New York, New York, and
01:21MGM,
01:21is the new A's Stadium.
01:23And then if you just walk over to New York, New York, behind there is T-Mobile Arena,
01:27which is where the Knights play.
01:29I don't know what they're going to do once they get an NBA team, but Joe, think about this.
01:34Pretty soon, this city will have all four major sports.
01:38Yep.
01:39Yeah, not far, but within a few years, I'm sure.
01:41And right, they're going to be at three.
01:44When do the A's get there next year?
01:45Something like that.
01:46But right, like I said, the stadium's already going up.
01:48It's a crazy difference from when I was growing up.
01:52It's going to be an NBA expansion team, I believe, right?
01:52I mean, like everybody pretty is sure on that.
01:55Definitely, definitely.
01:56Well, Sal, before we get into the game, this is from Adam Schefter in the last couple minutes,
01:59which I think was assumed, if not even already reported, but that the NFL is reviewing.
02:04C.J. Gardner-Johnson's spitting at Brock Bowers for more discipline.
02:09I remember Jalen Carter, I think last year for the Eagles, got ejected,
02:13and then there was also a suspension, so we'll get to what happened on the field game-wise.
02:17But that's probably the worst moment for the Bills yesterday, is having that happen,
02:22and now there's a lot of conversation about Gardner-Johnson and just, you know, you just can't have that.
02:29Yeah, there's two parts to it, obviously, but the most important part is you just can't do something like that.
02:35But it's terrible, and from a humanistic side, and, you know, watching that happen and watching that unfold,
02:43I'm sure does not sit well with anybody in the Buffalo Bills organization.
02:47From Joe Brady on up and throughout his locker room, you know,
02:51that's independent of what it did to the team on the field and losing C.J. Gardner-Johnson,
02:56but overall, it was unacceptable, and the Bills are going to have to really sit down over the next two
03:04weeks,
03:05Brandon Bean is, with his organization, with his staff, and decide about this player
03:10and if they want him on the team anymore, because this is a reason, not this incident specifically,
03:17but things like this are a reason why he's been on eight teams in five years.
03:21You know, he's been a good player, he's won, but there's always something that comes along with him,
03:26and yesterday, it came to, unfortunately, a type of head that is now making headlines nationally.
03:34You know, the Bills win the game.
03:36Josh Allen has an MVP type of play and great performance.
03:40You're seeing that in every highlight in America, real today, every highlight real,
03:45and you know what else you're seeing?
03:46That.
03:47That can't sit well with anybody who represents the Buffalo Bills in any capacity.
03:51No, it shouldn't.
03:52And the other thing, Sal, about Gardner-Johnson, when they signed him,
03:57was you might have to deal with some stuff, and it might be even something to manage throughout the season,
04:02but he's a very good player.
04:05And that's what I wonder right now is, is the juice worth the squeeze?
04:09Is he doing enough on the field that is worth, you know, this incident,
04:14or if they might be worried about other incidents arising,
04:18that we just don't want to deal with this for the level of play that we're getting?
04:22And I think yesterday, like, he's in coverage on Michael Mayer a few times
04:26and isn't able to make the tackle.
04:28Like, I don't know how good he's really been for them so far.
04:32No, that's right.
04:32And I think that's got to be a part of the equation, which is, like, how much is he?
04:38I think you put it the right way.
04:39How much is it worth having him around if we do keep having him around?
04:44You know, they brought him here on a one-year deal, so, you know, if they want to cut ties,
04:49it's really no financial ramifications other than paying for that one-year deal,
04:54which I believe is about, what, $3.5 million.
04:56You know, that's already sunk cost.
04:58You already paid it no matter what.
04:59And, you know, you don't have to add more money out of that cap-wise.
05:03And then you look at the personnel and say, well, there's two parts to this.
05:07If we do move on from him, do we have somebody on the roster we feel confident in replacing him?
05:15And if the answer to that is no, then where do we go outside the organization and get him?
05:20And, Joe, you may have to just make the decision that you don't want him
05:23before even going down that road, to be quite honest with you.
05:26Maybe that's a part of the equation of deciding if you want him on the team or not.
05:30It's all got to be part of the conversation that's coming up.
05:32The Bills have two weeks to kind of figure that out.
05:34My guess is, over the next week, they will do that.
05:37Now, I will say, also, in the locker room after the game,
05:39even though he didn't actually say what he did,
05:41he didn't come out and, you know, people ask him about spitting.
05:45And he didn't say, yes, that's what I did.
05:47He didn't talk about the incident itself.
05:50He was accountable, I would say, and apologetic, saying he made a mistake.
05:55He can't do that.
05:56He let his emotions get to him.
05:58So you want to see that.
05:59But at the same time, you don't know what's around the next corner
06:03with C.J. Gardner-Johnson, even given all that,
06:06if they were to keep him on the team.
06:07Yeah.
06:08See Kyle Juszczyk's tweet, by the way?
06:10I didn't.
06:10I did not.
06:11He tweeted during the game yesterday that it was the least surprising thing ever.
06:15He did it to me last season, and nobody caught it.
06:19So, like, you know, right.
06:21Like, what's around the next corner?
06:22Maybe now that guy gets caught.
06:23Like, that's what it takes for him to stop spitting on people on the field.
06:28But clearly there will be, you know, punishment here if the NFL feels it's necessary.
06:33Before we get to the rest of it, I know this is maybe more, you know, niche from the game
06:38yesterday, but how did you feel like they did replacing him once he was ejected?
06:45Not great, but at the same time, I don't know if it was any different.
06:48They were okay at times.
06:50I think that when you got to the, you know, late in the game, a couple of times,
06:55a couple of drives, the same issues popped up, whether it was C.J. Gardner-Johnson on the field,
06:59Jalen Kilgore got beat deep on a pass that was with Davis and Igman-Oson.
07:02I did feel that early on after he was gone, it felt like, oh,
07:06they're starting to play better without C.J. Gardner-Johnson on the field.
07:09And I don't know if that was coincidental, that was related, but it felt that maybe
07:14they weren't even kind of, you know, rallying together, so to speak, right?
07:19Like, okay, well, you know, we have to step it up here and we lost this player.
07:24So we all have to kind of button up a little bit and they did a nice job of that.
07:27So I felt it was not a big enough difference to go back and say, well, without him,
07:35look what we are.
07:35So we have to have him around.
07:36I felt that if there was any drop-off at all, which you could argue there certainly wasn't
07:41a drop-off, that you could make the argument, we don't need him necessarily on the football
07:45field.
07:46Right.
07:46Kilgore also did have that one pass breakup over the middle of the field, but you're
07:50right, he was also there at that play at the end of the game when the Bills were up by
07:5310.
07:54Sal's got his arrow up, arrow down column at WGR550.com.
07:57We'll get to the injury report as well.
07:59But Sal, let's start with Josh Allen, and it was not a surprising play if you've watched
08:06him all the time and I don't always want to take it for granted, but the flick touchdown
08:11and really just his day overall.
08:13I mean, he was efficient and finding Keyon Coleman, right?
08:17Like, I know they really tried to get Kincaid involved.
08:20That wasn't the most efficient in the world, but Coleman and Allen, that's been working as
08:25a connection for the last few weeks.
08:27Yeah, for sure.
08:28So let's start with Josh.
08:31I mean, I wrote, he played like an MVP, not that his numbers were overwhelming, incredible,
08:35but he was really good.
08:37He was efficient.
08:38He was smart.
08:38I liked Josh's game yesterday.
08:40I thought he played smart, Joe.
08:41He didn't put the ball in harm's way.
08:42He didn't say, I got to take some sort of chance and just throw it up there and give
08:45these one-on-one balls.
08:46He finished close to 70% completion, 23 of 33, 255 yards, a couple of touchdowns, no turnovers.
08:54That was great.
08:55And then, of course, now you add on to it the highlight reel play, the signature play,
09:00the MVP type play.
09:01If you go back a couple of years ago when Josh won his MVP, he had two big plays like
09:04that.
09:05That was the one Jim Nance called the play of the year against Kansas City.
09:08And then the Amari Cooper flipped back to him, right?
09:10I believe that was the same year.
09:11But it seems like if you're going to win an MVP award, you have a couple of those signature
09:16plays a year.
09:17Well, that was that type of play.
09:18Everybody's going to be talking about it today.
09:20Everybody's going to be rerunning and showing that particular play.
09:24And, of course, on the back end is Keon Coleman, who kept himself available, who knew where
09:29to be, who understood the situation.
09:31He's wide open.
09:32Josh flicks it to him.
09:33He catches the ball.
09:34And that was one of, what, seven catches that he made.
09:37He had more catches than anybody on the Buffalo Bills.
09:40And, Joe, three words came to mind.
09:43I tweeted this about Keon Coleman.
09:45Reliable, important, and impactful.
09:48I mean, who would have thought that, you know, that those three words would be about Keon
09:51Coleman this year.
09:51Reliable because he's catching everything that Josh Allen's throwing to him, pretty
09:55much.
09:56His catch rate is really, really good.
09:59Important because they've not had DJ Moore.
10:02They were missing Joshua Palmer last week.
10:04He's had to play an important role.
10:06Joe, I just did the snap.
10:08Snap counts for this week.
10:11And Keon Coleman was on the field for more snap counts, more snaps than any wide receiver.
10:17In fact, 58 out of 68, 85%.
10:21The next closest receiver was 41.
10:2358 snaps for him.
10:2541 for Khalil Shakir.
10:27He's been important.
10:27And then, of course, he's been impactful because the catches that he's making and he's made are
10:32making a difference in games.
10:34Yeah.
10:34I don't know how you feel about this comparison, but I thought about Gabe Davis yesterday while
10:38I was watching him play.
10:39Like, just he's become a good, I don't think they're a perfect comparison at all.
10:42Like, there's differences in their game.
10:44But just, he's just become a good, reliable NFL wide receiver.
10:47Like, no one's going to say you're a number one, but you are making plays and you're consistent
10:54and you're on the field all the time.
10:55You block.
10:56You, I also, this would be different from Gabe.
10:59I think so.
10:59Now, the other thing I want to give the Bills credit for, Coleman deserves a lot for the
11:04work he put in.
11:05He worked with Stevie Johnson and maybe taking the profession more seriously than he did a
11:08year ago.
11:09But the Bills are playing him out of the slot like a third of the time.
11:13And moving him around was not something they were doing in the first two years.
11:18And I think Joe Brady in the offense has done good work to make the job easier for him.
11:24A hundred percent, they have tried to find better matchups and better spots on the field
11:30where he can be more efficient and perform.
11:33It's not always easy to do that when you come into this league to learn different spots.
11:38We knew Keon Coleman probably could do that.
11:40He's also moving around into those spots, Joe, because he's a good and willing blocker.
11:45And that helps.
11:45And you want to talk about Gabe Davis.
11:46There's another comparison.
11:47The Bills have always had this, like Matt Collins, right?
11:50They've always had this type of receiver who is bigger and he's willing and he's able
11:55to block.
11:55And I think that that's another reason why he's on the field a lot.
11:58So give him a lot of credit.
12:00He, I think you said it right, he's taking it seriously.
12:03He understands what's on the line for him in his career.
12:07And Joe, I would say that it's pretty amazing to think about it when you think in that aspect.
12:11Oh, I mean, these last six games, these first six games of this year, Keon Coleman has
12:16totally changed the trajectory of his own career, right?
12:19Like, I mean, like from where it was, where it was going to where it's going now, you
12:24hope it stays that way.
12:25But how cool is that?
12:25Like, he has really changed the trajectory of his career.
12:29He's on a four-year rookie deal.
12:30This is his third year.
12:31And now you're thinking, this is a guy that can help us, you know, going forward.
12:36Maybe not, you know, not just this year, but next year you have him.
12:39If he's just starting to come into what we drafted him for and coming into his own, this
12:44is a player that we can build on even, not just for this year, obviously.
12:47Right.
12:47Sal Capaccio with us on the Western Hotline.
12:50Arrow up, arrow down.
12:51Also, Sal, on the offense, it was, was this, it had to be, the most receiving yards that
12:57Bill's running backs have had in a game?
12:59Because you had two guys that were making big plays.
13:02Yeah, let me go back and look at the box score here.
13:04You know, I said, I said this weekend I was on with somebody, I can't remember, maybe
13:08he showed up with a Bulldog and I was doing TV yesterday at the stadium.
13:12And I said, you know, the Bills call Ty Johnson the best third down back in the league, Joe.
13:17And a lot of times when you say that about a, you know, a player in your team, it's like,
13:21yeah, well, you know, that's what we say about our own guys.
13:23He might be the best third down back in the league.
13:25He really might.
13:26He's really good at what he does.
13:27It's a great role for him.
13:28He had two catches in this one on two targets for 24 yards.
13:32I mean, when, when the ball's thrown to Ty, he catches it.
13:34He's got good hands.
13:35That's the other thing that's very, very reliable about him.
13:37And then you bring in James Cook in the passing game, and we've talked about this and how much
13:41it might matter.
13:42And that 26 yarder towards the end of the game was very important.
13:45Three catches on three targets, 58 yards.
13:48So you add that up, where'd they go?
13:50They go over 80 yards.
13:5282.
13:53Yeah.
13:53Yeah.
13:53They go over 80 yards total between the two.
13:55And then you add in Ray Davis's one catch for five yards on one target.
13:59So it's not just, and so you get to, you know, 87 there.
14:02It's not just the catches and yards, Joe, but every time Josh targeted one of them,
14:07they caught the ball.
14:08You had six targets to running backs, six catches for running backs.
14:11Where were the Raiders, by the way, on that Cook 26 yard catch?
14:15Like Allen could have, Allen could have took off and run two if he wanted for 20.
14:19Like Cook, that's the way they were also running the play action, right?
14:23Like, I guess if they hand the ball to Cook, he might also be open there.
14:28Like the Raiders were just, whatever fake that they had for them, maybe it was the way
14:32the line went, but they fooled the entire defense basically.
14:36Yeah.
14:36I mean, really nice play, play design.
14:40And I don't, I don't exactly know how to be, somebody had to be responsible for that.
14:43And they, for sure.
14:44So, you know, it's a, it's a play we've seen the chiefs run a lot, right?
14:47With my homes and that play for sure.
14:50Yeah.
14:50Yeah.
14:50The back out of the flat.
14:52Yeah.
14:52Yeah.
14:53Yeah.
14:53And that's exactly what they did.
14:54Sal, what else in this game that went really well for them that you thought stood out?
14:59I know Tyler Bass, you wrote about, he's been perfect so far this year.
15:02Um, well, perfect on field goals, perfect field goals point.
15:05Right.
15:06But you're right.
15:06I mean, Tyler Bass has been strong, Joe.
15:09I think special teams have been great for this team this year through six weeks.
15:12They really have.
15:12Uh, I wrote about special teams.
15:14Ray Davis had the opening kickoff return again for 40 yards.
15:17I read a stat where he's the first guy to return opening kickoff 40 plus yards, like
15:21in 15, 10, 15 years or something like that.
15:24It's back-to-back games.
15:26Tommy Doman, uh, one punt didn't go that far, but I saw him and the guys on the special teams
15:32really like happy about it.
15:33I think it was exactly planned.
15:35We wanted it high and you wanted to have no return and that's what happened, but he
15:38put one inside the 20.
15:39Tyler Bass had seven kicks, made all seven.
15:42Um, and they did a really good job covering.
15:46I just think special teams were really good.
15:49And we have to talk about how good the run defense has been as much as we talk about
15:53the past defense and it's true.
15:55Like, obviously it's not doing what it needs to do overall production wise, Joe, the run
15:59defense was great again.
16:01I mean, Ashton Jenty averaged 2.2 yards of carry.
16:04He had 22 yards.
16:06They had one run Washington on a draw gets 18 yards.
16:09Other than that, they get, they didn't get a sniff yesterday on the ground.
16:12The Raiders, the bills did a great job against them and nothing with Jenty ever really got
16:16going at all.
16:17Like nothing, but Joe, that's been the theme all year.
16:20No, what, what running back has gotten off against the bills?
16:23Not, and they've played good ones, right?
16:24Like Gibbs didn't do it.
16:25Yes.
16:26So that's correct.
16:27Yeah.
16:28That's the, that'll be a big talking point going into the next game, right?
16:31Like all the Derek Henry fear of past years, like, well, let's see like this, are they
16:35going to try to run it on the bills?
16:37Cause the bills, the one thing they are doing is stopping the run.
16:40So no, that's right.
16:41And, um, they have to evaluate what they're evaluate, excuse me, what they're doing against
16:46the past in the secondary linebackers, safeties corners.
16:49We know that, but one thing that they can be confident as they do that is that they've
16:55been very good against the run.
16:56Um, this defense is suited to be able to stop the run and guys like, I mean, the other
17:02thing I'll bring up, Joe is they got a good, they got good contribution from their rookie
17:06class yesterday.
17:07Now I know that Skylar bell didn't catch a pass and that's one you'd like to see Davis
17:12enigma.
17:12And came on the field and played well, TJ Parker was on the field and played well.
17:17And then you brought up Jill and Kilgore in there getting valuable reps and making a couple
17:21of plays, but like give credit, the rookie class.
17:23And then you throw in a Dion Walker who was drafted last year, um, who, who, who made plays.
17:28So good contributions from their rookies and a couple of young guys.
17:32Sal Capaccio with us.
17:33Sal, what type of day did you feel like it was overall for the past defense?
17:38I thought they were, I thought they were sniffing a good day.
17:42Like there were good things, like Bowers didn't have a catch through three games and Benford
17:46was shadowing him everywhere.
17:47He could not get rid of Benford, but quarters, I mean three quarters.
17:50Sorry.
17:51Three quarters.
17:51But he ends up getting there by the end, right?
17:53With a couple of plays.
17:54It's the, the Tucker play by the end of it puts cousins over 300, gets them to 30.
17:59Um, you mentioned Nick Benosin, like there were past breakups.
18:02Hairston only got targeted one time and he was on the field for 17 snaps.
18:06So it's like, I feel like I'm thinking about all these individuals.
18:09Like, yeah, I feel like Benford had a decent day and Hairston was fine and Nick Benosin.
18:13But then you look up at the end of it.
18:15It's like, they still threw for 300 yards and scored 30 points.
18:17How did that happen?
18:19Yeah, I agree with you on that.
18:21And I think the issue was they gave up too many bigger plays, longer plays.
18:26If you look at this, you ready?
18:27Michael Myers, these are the longest passes that they completed.
18:31A 28 yarder.
18:33Tucker, a 44 yarder.
18:34Bowers, a 29 yarder.
18:36Even Jenty, a 15 yarder, right?
18:38Okay.
18:38A little different there.
18:39But I thought that was the issue.
18:41You're right.
18:42I thought that they did a nice job overall to kind of do their job, play to play.
18:47But then there would be a big play.
18:48They would give up a critical play.
18:50They would go the third down defense was not good yesterday.
18:52I wrote about it at arrow down.
18:54I gave it an arrow down third down defense overall.
18:56What were they?
18:5758, 58 percent, seven of 12.
18:59You just can't have that happen.
19:00So I think I think the way to say it, though, Joe, is it feels like they're getting close, right?
19:06It feels like they're getting a little bit better.
19:08They're getting a little bit closer.
19:08But you have to figure out what's going to happen here over the next two weeks.
19:12And you still need help back there in some capacity.
19:14But, yeah, they were getting closer to being better.
19:18And then something would happen to undo that on a critical play.
19:22Right.
19:22Sal, finally, the Barnes from injury report brought to you by the Barnes firm.
19:25If you've been injured in a crash, call the Barnes firm 1-800-8 million.
19:28Did we have anything yesterday?
19:29There was a Bradley Chubb injury at one point, right?
19:32And there was Dalton Kincaid.
19:33And Kincaid.
19:34They both had ribs.
19:35They both left.
19:36They both came back.
19:38So we'll find out a little bit later today throughout the week.
19:42I'm sure we're not getting anything today, Joe Brady, when he talks about it.
19:45But those were the only two that I knew of.
19:47Now, someone said Benford told me Benford was not on the field on the final series.
19:51But I've got to go back and look if there's anything there.
19:53We didn't get any update on him that late in the game if that was the case.
19:56Yeah.
19:57The last two drives – actually, I did not notice this on the last drive.
20:01I noticed on the second-to-last drive that he was not out there.
20:05It was Harrison and Igbenosin.
20:06And I assume that wouldn't be rotational.
20:09Benford doesn't rotate with those two.
20:11If he's healthy, he's on the field.
20:13Yeah, that's right.
20:14That's right.
20:15So we'll find out more about that.
20:17But then, obviously, no DJ Moore yesterday.
20:19No Ed Oliver.
20:20That gives them another week.
20:21DJ Moore, the next time they play a game, he'll have had a month since he injured the shoulder.
20:25So you hope that that really kind of gets him healthier and able to get back on the field.
20:30That plane that ran off the runway, apparently, last night, which, again, narrowly avoiding tragedy is the story, was Donnie
20:38Wahlberg's private jet from New Kids Alok.
20:42That is actually a burger place right here.
20:45Like, when you walk from the Mandalay Bay to – it's the Mandalay Bay shops, all right?
20:51So when you go up in Mandalay Bay and you walk in the shops, we notice there's a Tom Brady
20:56card vault, one of those big Tom Brady card vault stores they have.
20:58They're really popular.
20:59They have high-end cards.
21:01They sell a lot, like high-end.
21:02But anyway, we were there because Max went there a couple of times, and we were shopping, and you keep
21:08walking.
21:09There's the Wahlberger.
21:11The Wahlberger?
21:13Really?
21:13I think, but it's not Donnie.
21:15That's Mark.
21:16I think Mark owns that one.
21:17I think maybe they both do.
21:18But it's called the Wahlberger, and it's literally – they own it.
21:20It's a burger place.
21:21There used to be a reality TV show called Wahlberger's surrounding that place.
21:26Really?
21:26Yeah.
21:26Yeah.
21:27Okay.
21:28I'm learning all of this for the first time.
21:30Yeah, I'm reading the story right now.
21:31Someone just sent it to us while we were talking.
21:35I'm reading it.
21:35It looks like a miracle that it wasn't worse.
21:37They slammed into a fence, didn't get up in the air, went off the runway, and steered clear of a
21:44bunch of heavy equipment and stuff.
21:46Joe, you're talking about this while me and many other people are flying back today, right?
21:50I know.
21:51I'm sorry.
21:51Well, no.
21:51This is a good story, though.
21:53This is a good story.
21:54I want to make sure.
21:55Okay, good.
21:55Well, Safe Travel's back, and I know we've got a bye week here, so we'll talk to you throughout the
22:01week.
22:01Yeah, for sure, for sure.
22:01We'll talk to you guys a little bit later during the week.
22:04Thanks, Sal.
22:05All right, you got it.
22:06Thanks.
22:06Sal Capaccio on the West Hurr hotline.
22:09Bills win 33-30 over the Raiders, and now to the Ravens.
22:15What an interesting matchup that's going to be.
22:19Defensively, whether Lamar is healthy by then, I feel like Lamar's playing that game and won't be 100%.
22:24That's going to be my guess.
22:26Well, he gets that extra hour of sleep as the clocks fall back.
22:29Could be the difference maker.
22:31When is that happening?
22:32That day.
22:33That Sunday morning.
22:37Okay, so going into the morning.
22:39Yeah.
22:40So Saturday night into Sunday night.
22:41Or Saturday night into Sunday morning.
22:43It would be Sunday at like 2 a.m.
22:44It would just be 2 a.m. twice.
22:46Gotcha.
22:47Okay.
22:49Yeah.
22:49I've been out before when that's happened.
22:52Not in a long time.
22:53No, that's a fun thing to do.
22:54Yeah.
22:55Yeah.
22:55You're out and like, oh, we're getting another hour.
22:58Yeah.
23:01Connor Hellbuck hasn't been traded yet, right?
23:03Checking Twitter.
23:04I don't think so.
23:05I haven't seen anything yet.
23:06I am like E5.
23:08I'm at E5 all week.
23:10Every time you open the app, you're waiting for it.
23:12I want the trade.
23:13It's going to happen.
23:14I'm so confident it's going to happen.
23:16But I've been holding firm on my optimism all summer.
23:21Yeah.
23:21You have been probably the most steadfast of the camp.
23:26Winnipeg just bungled this whole thing.
23:28Yes.
23:29Oh, yeah.
23:30What a way.
23:30I guess this is an example of why you don't play hardball.
23:35And I'll even take an L on that.
23:37I've said multiple times in the past with Eichel that play hardball.
23:41You don't have to trade him.
23:43Like, hold it.
23:43And just, like, deal with how ugly it is.
23:46But it's easier said than done.
23:47And you're seeing that, I think, in action right now.
23:49Like, Winnipeg, if they could go back and build a time machine, I'm sure they would go back and take
23:54the Sabres offer at the draft.
23:56Oh, 100% they would do that.
23:58Oh, yeah.
23:59They're going to end up with less than they probably got offered then and had to deal with all this.
24:04Right.
24:04And it's an absolute tire fire for them.
24:08Well, their bet was he was going to come back, right?
24:10Oh, he's trying.
24:12Well, now, but he's trying now for a different reason.
24:15Trying, in quotes.
24:15He just wants to check.
24:16Yeah, exactly.
24:17He does not want to be there.
24:18He's trying to make it more difficult for them.
24:21Well, it will be difficult.
24:23Yeah.
24:23Oh, he's made it very difficult.
24:25If he were to show up, it'd be really difficult.
24:27Although he's not, it's been reported the whole time.
24:30Like, it's not a small list.
24:31It's a big list that he's willing to do.
24:34It's just they won't do anything.
24:36Sabres fall in Montreal on Saturday.
24:38They played the same game against Montreal twice.
24:40I know.
24:41It was, you could have watched, re-watched the game from earlier in the week and you would have thought
24:45it was live.
24:45Two goals down, come back.
24:48Lukanen was good.
24:49And then, oh, the last moment, Lukanen wasn't good.
24:51But, like, it was a breakaway and it was Cole Caulfield.
24:54I pointed out on Twitter and I yelled that.
24:56Not, I was not saying that he was bad.
24:58I thought he had a great night.
24:59Good night, at least.
25:01Just, Montreal knows what they're doing against him when they come down one-on-one.
25:04They're going blocker.
25:05There's a scouting report out there on him right now about the blocker.
25:09It's pretty clear to me.
25:10Well, maybe the Sabres cannot take advantage of that when he's the Rangers goalie and they play in a shootout
25:14in a couple of months.
25:14There we go.
25:15We've got a lot of tape.
25:17Yeah.
25:19What's Schefter tweeting about now?
25:20No.
25:20Okay, it's not news.
25:21There was a picture of Jameis Winston and I thought something was happening.
25:24Oh, no.
25:25When Schefter tweets a picture of a player, don't you assume it's a news alert?
25:29Well, he also posted pictures of Sean Stiletto, an agent, playing flag football in Italy.
25:34So, I always take it with a grain of salt now, I guess.
25:36Speaking of the standings, Dash Around the League brought to you by Dash's Market, serving Western New York for over
25:41100 years.
25:41Shop the family of finer foods.
25:42The Bills stay in first place in the AFC East at 5-1.
25:46New England, also beating the Jets, are at 4-2.
25:48The Bills are not in first in the conference, though, because Kansas City stays undefeated.
25:53They are 5-0.
25:54They've already had their bye.
25:56And they, by the way, next will play against the Seahawks on the road on Sunday Night Football.
26:03So, that's a good opportunity to see them drop one.
26:07And then the Bills get them in a few weeks.
26:09803-0550 is the phone number.
26:10You got a thought on last night's game or if you want to chime in on Hellebuck.
26:14Love that, too.
26:15It's Jeremy and Joe.
26:16Jeremy on his way back from Vegas is WGR.
