00:00At first, Debra Carr was unsure about starring with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in Marriage
00:05on the Rocks, but she ended up having a great time laughing at Sinatra's jokes and Martin's
00:10antics.
00:11We had a ball, Carr said.

00:16Dean-O would murmur, what a great way to earn a living.
00:19What other business is there where you can come in every morning and meet lots of people
00:22you absolutely adore, do something you like doing, and get paid for it?
00:26That's how I feel.
00:27And though Sinatra and Martin were having fun, they worked hard too, making more of
00:32an effort on becoming their characters than they had on their Rat Pack movies.
00:36They were also rare movie stars in that they embraced their ages and didn't try to play
00:41younger.
00:42But critics did not enjoy Marriage on the Rocks, with the review in The New Yorker calling the
00:47film a long, coarse, and nearly always unfunny comedy, hammered together for no apparent reason
00:54except to make money.

00:59in a film noir from 1948, where Hayworth shocked audiences by cutting off her long red hair.
