This Is Why The GOSHAWK Is The Most Dangerous Bird In The Forest.
Medieval falconers called the goshawk "the cook" — the bird that always brought dinner home when every other hunter came back empty-handed. Four centuries later, it's still doing exactly that.
This northern goshawk documentary is the full story of a two-pound raptor that has been quietly one of the most dangerous things in the forest for six hundred years — and why nothing in the woods is safe from it.
The goshawk hunts unlike almost any other bird of prey. Instead of diving from above, it ambushes from below — a move almost no other raptor uses. It tucks in behind a fleeing target's blind spot and holds the chase until the kill. Watch it take hares, squirrels and birds in the canopy, and see what happens when crows decide to fight back.
In 2015, scientists strapped a headcam on a trained goshawk to find out how it predicts an escape before it happens. And in June 2025, a nesting pair in Augusta, Maine sent a jogger to the emergency room and shut down two public trails — it happened again in Alaska a year later. This is what a goshawk attack actually looks like.
