00:00everyone of course was asking us like oh my god you were just with Whitney the night before like
00:03how was she we're like she looked like she was on top of the world like feeling her best self
00:07it made us feel good at least that you seemed like you were in a good place with right was
00:11it
00:11indicative of how you feel about this decision to file for divorce like you feel good about it
00:15right yeah I mean I'm the one who filed right yeah choice and you see it play out through the
00:20season
00:20I it took me a long time to get here right I mean because even having that conversation with Heather
00:26in San Francisco it seemed like you still didn't know what she wanted to do at the end of the
00:31conversation Heather was like you know remember how you and Justin decided to make it work last
00:36time you were in San Francisco hold on to that energy was there a part of you that wanted to
00:40hold on to the energy and try to make it work or do you think you decided it sounded like
00:43you were
00:43doing all the work for that yeah yeah no I definitely wanted it to work I can sit here and
00:48say I gave it
00:49my all yeah I've tried everything great um it's one of those things it's very sad and hard like
00:55I am glowing because I've I'm finding happiness and peace I have peace in my heart through all the
01:02chaos yeah it's sad it's devastating I love Justin I love my family and um no matter I mean now
01:10that
01:10we know I'm getting divorced like he and I are still focused on the kids yeah so we're keeping it
01:15peaceful amicable and we're co-parenting well so it's sad but yeah I gave it my all I wanted it
01:21to
01:21work but also you have to choose yourself at a certain point right you have to really consider
01:24how I was raised my Mormon roots yeah I even though I'm no longer part of the church I've been
01:29out of
01:29the church for 20 years yeah um I still have that Mormon programming running in my brain that you don't
01:35get divorced like you're you don't do that to your family and I grew up in a divorced family I
01:40grew up
01:41with a you know a childhood that was hard so I did not want to do this to my kids
01:46but at some point
01:47I realized okay that's Mormon programming get that out of your head I get called selfish a lot for
01:52wanting a divorce the society labels you that people label you that and I realized it's actually
01:57more selfish of me to stay in a situation I'm not happy in right and also like subject your kids
02:01to
02:02an unhappy household yeah you know how are your kids feeling about it how are you talking to your
02:06kids about it my kids are so amazing they they get it they're 16 and 13 right Bobby's my they're
02:14both my best friends I'm very close to my kids and that's what I've dove into during this process
02:19is business and kids and also it's a thing too because people always say they want to like you
02:24know protect their kids and everything kids are smart so like they're aware of stuff like I'm sure
02:28when you guys were talking about everything they're like ma we know oh yeah yeah I don't know why
02:32I pushed off the converse I pushed off doing it and having the conversation with them for so long
02:36I think me choosing to leave the home yeah or like separating and nesting we put that off for so
02:43long
02:43because I was so scared to tell the kids but once I told the kids they're like thank you oh
02:47okay wait
02:48that's amazing they're like we want you happy we want dad happy want you happy and so I think that
02:54Bobby and Brooks are fine because they have two parents that love them
