Don't knock. Say the words: "Hut, hut, turn your back to the forest and face me." 🏚️🦴
Baba Yaga, the bony-legged witch of Slavic folklore, lives deep in the forest in a hut that stands on giant chicken legs, ringed by a fence of bones topped with human skulls. Her nose curls to the ceiling. Her teeth are iron.
She doesn't ride a broom. She flies in a giant mortar, steering with a pestle and sweeping away her tracks behind her. And she can smell you: "Fu, fu… I smell a Russian soul."
Most guests never leave. But when young Vasilisa came for fire, she finished every impossible chore and walked out alive, carrying a skull with burning eyes.
So if you find the hut, be polite. Work hard. And never ask too many questions.
