00:06Dear Marcio, we are happy to welcome you at CigreTV. You have been CigreTC Chair for six years now and
00:13in a few days a new TC is going to be elected for a new term.
00:17Could you tell us what were the achievements that you are the most proud of after all these years?
00:23Thank you very much. Well, I'm proud of many things. We changed the study committee structures, we changed the paper
00:33review process from synopsis to full papers, which means a lot of workload.
00:39We captured, we tried to capture the relevant energy transition aspects. We incorporated next generation network and women in energy
00:51into the study committee structures.
00:53So we made a lot of changes with the airplane going without stopping anything.
00:59Okay, thank you. You have put forward important actions regarding the technical contents of Cigre. Could you name some of
01:08these actions?
01:09Well, I think the main action in my term was the revision of the energy strategic plan of Cigre.
01:19So we revised the strategic plan for 2023-2030 and we incorporated the energy transition aspects into the study committee
01:33scopes.
01:34And also, Fanny, we have thought about digitalization and energy transition aspects. We have so many overlaps, intersections among the
01:50study committees that we have to live with that.
01:53We have to understand that nobody is alone anymore. So this was, I think, an action within the TC group
02:01to understand that we need to interact,
02:04among each other because everything is multidisciplinary today.
02:11Okay. And how can Cigre further democratize its expertise and reach other stakeholders beyond its current audience?
02:20Yes, that's a good question because we are very technical.
02:25And we, let's say, we have some kind of limit that we perhaps need to go a little beyond to
02:32communicate with policymakers and regulators and so on.
02:38But if we do that, perhaps we need to find partners that can do this better. So we are trying
02:46to establish some agreement with entities which are less technical,
02:51but they know how to communicate. They have their stakeholders are more democratic audience. So we are trying to do
03:00it, do this through partners.
03:03Thanks for this explanation. And as your term is coming to an end, what would you want to say to
03:09the new TC chair who will succeed you?
03:11Well, you know, CIGRE is a kind of bottom-up organization. So the creation of new working groups, new activities
03:19and seminars or symposium comes from the bottom to the top.
03:25So the top guy, the top person should really work as a facilitator in guiding and strategically orienting people.
03:37But leaving this bottom-up structure really works in a very good way, in a very perfect way.
03:45And thank you very much, Marcio. Hope you will have a good session in 2024 at the CIGRE session in
03:51Paris.
03:51Thank you very much, Vanita. It's always a pleasure for me to be here. I feel like a home here.
03:58You feel like home? That's great. That's great. Thank you.
04:01Thank you very much.
