00:00Welcome to Every Life Place London and welcome to Armani Auditorium
00:05where our stories can be told through music, through film and through fashion and food.
00:13You're welcome, please come.
00:15The idea has probably been buried in my subconsciousness for the longest time.
00:19I know how important it is for stories to travel.
00:23I know how important it is for culture to travel.
00:26And I just felt that we needed to have a destination point to where this culture could travel to.
00:35And that's really what got me started on this journey.
00:55Because the thing is that we have consumed so much of the world.
01:00How much of the world has consumed us?
01:03And I'm not waiting anymore for anyone to take a six hour trip from London
01:07to understand what it is to watch a Nigerian film,
01:12to watch a Nigerian film or to see Nigerian fashion and so on and so forth.
01:16It's right here in London.
01:34It should be commonplace.
01:36It should be mainstream.
01:37It should be mainstream in the next ten years.
01:40And it can only become mainstream when we start like this.
01:43Here we are in the middle of London, literally central London.
01:47Westminster is two minutes down the road.
01:49With this, ten years from now, we shouldn't be here saying,
01:52this is the first black cinema, which it is.
01:55Ten years from now, it should just be, there's another cinema.
01:58There should be several others, you know, opening.
02:01So, cinemas, you know, culture hubs, food, fashion, art,
02:06bringing it all together, absolutely.
02:08We're creating our own spaces.
