00:00And what can I say, man? It is being reported right now. It is sources, reports, you name it,
00:05D-Fish. This would be a game changer. This would be, this would rock the NFL world.
00:12It is being reported that the Los Angeles Rams have called the Cleveland Browns specifically
00:19about their edge rusher, Miles Garrett. And the word is, the word is that not only are they
00:30aggressively going after Miles Garrett, they're using this phrase. And by the way, this is not
00:35a phrase you get said very often because it was one of the highest, maybe the highest, most
00:40criticized trade of all time. The Rams have reportedly offered a Ricky Williams-esque type
00:48of trade for Miles Garrett. Those of you wondering what that was, to move up seven spots from
00:55number 12 to number five, the Saints traded an unprecedented eight total draft picks to Washington
01:02to get their hands on Ricky Williams. And if that's what this is, that it sounds to me that
01:09not only do the Rams want to win, they want to win right here, right now. They want to win
01:17another title in Los Angeles where the Super Bowl is going to be at SoFi. And they are not
01:22even hiding it. They are, they're, they're giving up the future for this, man. If that's
01:27the case, they're, they're just saying, take whatever the future is and give us Miles Garrett.
01:32And you know what? I love it. Do it. I'm in. If you're going to go for it, go for
01:37it.
01:37Because last year that Rams team should have been in the Super Bowl. They weren't in the
01:41Super Bowl. So what do you do? You go get a Miles Garrett. I love it.
01:48Yeah. I mean, it sounds interesting because a player of Miles Garrett's caliber, like if
01:56you're the Cleveland Browns, I mean, somebody has to send you everything, everything, which
02:02then does that gut the Rams is ability to actually go win the Super Bowl. I mean, this season,
02:08no, in the future, here's the thing. I would say yes. I normally would say yes. I would 100%
02:13agree. Yes. This is a bad move for the Rams future. But I said the same thing when they,
02:19when they, they, they went ahead and they extended a Darnold years ago. I'm like, man,
02:23they just pilfered and ended their future, but they didn't. They said, they said F them
02:29picks before. And look, they're still here. And they're still doing it. I mean, if any other
02:34team, I would say this is a terrible idea, but the Rams have already shown me that they
02:38can do it. I don't know how they're doing it, but they're doing it.
02:43Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they, they've clearly gotten it done at, at the highest level over
02:48the last several years. I mean, Sean McVay and the job that he does, you know, the staff
02:55building, you know, I think standards and, and, and the expectations around what winning
03:02looks like and what it should feel like and winning the day, being excited to go to work
03:07every day, bringing in guys that fit that culture and that mindset. Uh, but man, I mean,
03:13Miles Garrett, I, it also, to me, it's how old is Miles Garrett? Uh, God, 28 years old.
03:21I'm guessing 28. Raj, give me that number. I want to see. Ah, what do you think? Over,
03:26under 27 and a half. What are you going to take? 28 sounds great. I think 28 is a pretty
03:30good guess. Raj's on it. Raj, what do you got? Over. He's already, he's already 30. Oh,
03:36nevermind. We shouldn't get him. He sucks. And he'll turn 31 during the season. Yeah.
03:40So, so that was my, my, my thought was maybe this is all, this is kind of a, yeah, win
03:45now,
03:46but also bridging into the, like, you know, Ty Simpson years that two or three years from
03:54now, you know, you're going to still want a stellar defense to kind of mirror maybe what
04:00your offense looks like in a couple of years, but yeah, if this is real, then this is a all
04:06in right now. We just extended Matthew Stafford for one year 55. So he has two years basically
04:13on his deal and we're going to go win Super Bowls for the next two years. And then we'll
04:20kind of catch our breath and figure out what we need to do next. So I'm, I mean, you're
04:26in LA, you have to win tight. I mean, the Dodgers are going for it. Yep. You know, the Lakers
04:31have historically gone for it. Like you, you, you can't sit pat and just kind of be middle
04:37of the road type of group in Los Angeles. Completely agree. And by the way, another reason
04:41why they probably are going for a quote unquote Ricky Williams esque trade is because here's the
04:47other teams that are involved, the Eagles and the Eagles have already made it abundantly
04:52clear. They're likely going to move AJ Brown. So yeah, that's going to be one name that would
04:57likely be involved with that. If the Eagles want to get their hands on him. And by the
04:59way, everybody in the NFL should be working very hard to keep the Eagles from getting their
05:04hands on miles Garrett. Cause that is a scary, scary proposition. But here's the other thing
05:09that I think is really getting them to move a little bit on this. The other team that's
05:13involved, the Seattle Seahawks who just won the Superbowl and knocked out the Rams. The
05:20Rams do not want Matthew Stafford constantly attacked by miles Garrett. I don't know what
05:27else to say. Don't want it. Don't need it for the love of God. Don't let it happen.
05:32Agreed. I, you know, that, I mean, the example of the Padres that you've given, you know, where
05:37if the Dodgers are interested in somebody, the Padres are automatically going to be, you know,
05:43incentivized to jump into the conversation to try to prevent, you know, certain type of
05:48players and talent from being able to, you know, get added to the Dodgers roster. So
05:53it could be that the Rams are seeing it that way as well. And again, of course, I mean, the
06:00Cleveland Browns are kind of in the driver's seat. I don't know if I would assume, are there
06:07no trade clauses, you know, in, in football? I would assume miles Garrett will have some
06:13say over where he ends up. I would assume that as well, but you know, even though the
06:18Browns are still going to want to get all the kitchen sinks they can get. Yeah. I don't
06:23know. I think if you approach miles Garrett, say miles, you're 30 years old. You ain't winning
06:28ish in Cleveland is cold. Would you like to go to LA and have a chance to win? I'm I
06:33think
06:33he would take that one. Oh, no, that's going to be an immediate. No, no. I love Cleveland.
06:38The rock and roll hall of fame is here. Why would I ever leave? Yeah, but there, there are
06:42some pros and cons, man, that, that a lot of athletes are definitely thinking about. Ain't
06:47no pros in Cleveland when it comes. No, but I'm saying I'm comparing it to Seattle, you know,
06:55or to Philadelphia, like other teams and other situations, you know, the guys are thinking
07:01about tax. Uh, they're thinking about cost of living. Like they're thinking about a lot
07:06of things. It's all plays in account. You know, and not, if there's three teams that I can go
07:11play for that when I go there, we're all three teams are going to have a chance to win a
07:16Super
07:17Bowl when I get there. So that's not really the differentiator. Yeah. So the differentiator
07:21is okay. Coaching staff, other teammates, you know, defensively, is it the type of system
07:26that I'm going to enjoy playing in? Um, but then also again, cost of living where the
07:32facilities are, the Rams, I think are building a new facility, but it's not set yet. So if
07:37Miles Garrett is like, well, I'm going to go to LA and I mean, I have a facility for a
07:42couple of years compared to the facilities that are already in place in other places.
07:45Now, all of that being said, Super Bowls in LA, Rams have a championship caliber team.
07:52Like from a, there's a lot of reasons why this would be a great place for him. Um, and
07:58so we're just going to follow this story and keep tracking. Absolutely. And by the way,
08:01somebody mentioned this in the chat, um, saying miles is about his money, not winning. He would
08:07be losing money going to the Rams. I, you are not wrong. And this is, this is, this has always
08:11been kind of the caveat about, you know, coming to LA. There is that tax aspect of the whole
08:16thing, which is a real, real deal. In fact, Dodgers, Dodgers have lost a couple of guys
08:20like the Arizona diamondbacks because of the tax aspect of it. That being said, if you're
08:26a star of the name of miles Garrett, you will make back that money doing something else here
08:31in Los Angeles unquestionably. For sure. I just, you know, when, when you are like miles
08:40Garrett is one of the all time best defensive players to ever play football, football fans
08:47know him and some casual fans know him, but playing for the Rams in Los Angeles would light
08:56like his, the impact that he could have after football on fire, whatever his plans are after
09:04football ends. Um, is he, is he an investment guy? Is he interested in media? Is he interested,
09:10whatever he's interested in the increased visibility and platform that comes from playing in LA, um,
09:17on a team that's going to win a lot of games? Uh, they're going to have more nationally televised
09:21games, you know, than the Browns are, uh, on, on some of the big stages, the night games,
09:27the football night in America games, like that changes everything. Um, and so there's,
09:33depending on those aspects of it, there are a lot of reasons that LA makes a ton of sense in
09:40terms
09:40of you lose out from a tax perspective, but you do gain some value in terms of branding and,
09:46and, and kind of equity in terms of the things you're interested in, maybe off the field.
09:50Completely agree. And it's going to be a very interesting thing. And as D fish just said,
09:55we will monitor the situation as it goes forward. Miles Garrett looking potentially for a new home
10:01and LA might be at the top of the list.
