00:01Everything Katja gave us checked out.

00:03So as far as the ODNI was concerned, she was the golden goose of intel.

00:06So when she gave you up, we had to act.

00:09What about Joelle? Did she believe Katja?

00:12No. She defended Agent Cowan against the accusation.

00:15But she was overruled.

00:17We gave her the option to bow out, but she insisted on handling the defection.

00:21She didn't want to put anyone else in harm's way.

00:24We should have listened to her.

00:27I should have listened to her.

00:30Hey, guys.

00:31Did you talk to Sekhnav?

00:33Yes, and she spoke with Secretary of State about talking to the Russian ambassador.

00:37No promises, only that they'll try.

00:40Try what?

00:41Get the Russians to call off their head on Katja.

00:44You're joking, right? They'll deny everything.

00:46It's a long shot, but we have to try.

00:48Joelle's life depends on it.

00:50You think they care?

00:51If they have to choose between us losing the spy or them, they'll choose us.

00:54Then bypass official channels.

00:58What?

00:59The ODNI covers all the intelligence agencies, including the CIA.

01:03Use back channels and reach out to their operatives here on the ground.

01:08I can't go to the CIA.

01:10Why not?

01:11And why isn't this place crawling with the CIA?

01:13After what happened with Ganshkarov, why do you trust us more than your own people?

01:17Because I think your girlfriend's right.

01:20Someone's helping Katja.

01:21Someone with connections.

01:23Might be the Russians, but it might be the mole we have in our own house.

01:27I may not like how you guys do things, but at least I know whose side you're on.

01:31Well, speaking of Ganshkarov, maybe he can help.

01:34Well, he's in a coma.

01:35Not anymore.

01:36Just received word from the hospital.

01:38He's awake.

01:39Well, he barely spoke to us before.

01:40What makes you think this time would be any different?

01:42Well, the guy almost died.

01:44Horribly.

01:44That would change anyone's mind.

01:46It's better you go.

01:47After what happened before, he's not going to be too pleased to see me.

01:50Fine.

01:52But I want to know the minute that phone rings.
