Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase kick off a Victory Tuesday by breaking down the Buffalo Bills incredible 37-34 overtime victory over the LA Rams on Monday Night Football. The guys start off by discussing how insane Josh Allen’s performance was on the ground as he was running at defensive players left and right, making them miss and toppling them over. They also touched on James Cook’s tough night as he coughed the ball up twice and nearly cost the Bills the game.

00:00the victory tuesday double victory tuesday jeremy and joe good morning everybody it's tuesday it's
00:06a football monday in the same way though because it's day after a game and uh we're all up late
00:12and hopefully you got some sleep more than we did although if you're listening now you probably
00:17you probably didn't you didn't no no you probably didn't because we had to have overtime in that
00:21game too yes and get to the end of overtime crazy this game's ending at midnight well the bills
00:27finally won a game of the year game they always lose the game of the year game as it was
00:33happening
00:34i'm thinking we're gonna have to go and talk about another game of the year game that's what bills
00:40rams that's 13 seconds of course that's vikings minnesota game that's maybe the hail murray
00:46every time they're in one of these epic unforgettable games they lose the bucks overtime game probably be
00:53that yeah there were a lot of them it's josh ellen's first overtime win which he noted he said
00:58he knew that when talking on the uh on the field the sideline reporter after the game it's football
01:03monday powered by brought to you by tim hortons the official coffee of the jeremy and joe morning
01:07show on wgr start your day strong with tim hortons and the bills what a dumb game but fun game
01:16amazing
01:16game amazing dumb fun drunk all all the adjectives it was awesome there's no i don't think there's any
01:23overstating how i mean how good josh allen is but the work that allen and brady do for this offense
01:32to make it run how it does is truly incredible that they could score that many points without
01:40kind of without having anybody available i mean shakir makes plays later but kinkade's nowhere
01:45your your weapons are ray davis ty johnson they were throwing important passes to dawson knox yeah
01:53james cook had a big day it was it's just it's it's incredible and defensively i'm sure people are
01:59going to want to talk about it as well so oh yeah wow wow what you know whatever do you
02:06want to get
02:06to the complaining early um before before we do get to that like i i guess i don't include brady
02:13in last
02:14night because i feel like last night was just schoolyard allen is just going to scramble and
02:19the rams all day aren't gonna spy him that that was i said yesterday if i could have one thing
02:25in
02:25this game i would on offense that i haven't been getting i would take allen scrambling like give me
02:31his ability to run and that was almost their whole day well almost their whole day but they were
02:39dialing up man beaters that's how they got ty johnson down the field they ran some screens that
02:43actually worked they really did like he had answers and to have answers without dj more that's
02:48true it might have been their best day with the screen that i can remember and it's also worth
02:53pointing out like the bills also they drew penalties down the field multiple times like
02:58keon coleman didn't have a big day on the stat sheet but he drew a couple penalties and you know
03:02sometimes that will be enough like i think i think i saw he had four catches two were bills penalties
03:08that went back and two were rams penalties right back right he's a part of what they did but
03:12whatever he only ends with one catch for seven yards on the touchdown and i feel like he played
03:17a bigger role than than he did than that in the game but they weren't getting open no no they
03:22no
03:23one was getting open high leverage throws to dawson knocks like there were multiple of those where
03:27one he drops in the end zone the other which is a tough catch the other allen misses him you
03:33know
03:33it's so it's so wild at halftime you were probably thinking i was probably i won't tell you i was
03:37thinking
03:37it's another game with a quarterback maybe he can run now but he doesn't look right you know
03:42wheeling back and arm punting to keon near the end of the first half okay whatever it's the i still
03:48don't think that's that big a deal i bet you could throw up epa lost on that and you'd find
03:52it wasn't
03:53really that big a difference because what's the situation third and how how if the and this will get
03:58to the clock management complaining but what did the bills have to do in that game they had to treat
04:02their offense like last year yeah they were playing offense like they didn't think anybody
04:07would get open they get the ball with 152 on the clock first and 10 at their own 12 with
04:12all of
04:13their timeouts and they didn't and they ran the third down play with 37 seconds left after calling
04:18a timeout they didn't know what they wanted to do they didn't know what they wanted to be i think
04:22they want right it seemed like they wanted to play slow and not give the rams a chance to have
04:27the
04:27ball well then on the third down play you didn't call the timeout at the beginning of the play
04:31you didn't run all the way down to call it you were kind of like halfway through saying
04:34uh timeout right indecision so i think there is a a fair amount of hey joe brady are you sure
04:42you
04:42know what's going on with the clock here because it doesn't it might not look like you know what's
04:46going on with the clock all the time but whatever what a win it's just a lot of win and
04:51i mean is it
04:52four hours of the josh allen is an animal how many times not only did he take off to run
04:58but he's he's
04:59deciding i'm going full speed i'm going to juke this awesome linebacker landman who's amazing he
05:04played an incredible game imagine having a linebacker like that imagine having a linebacker like that
05:08on this defense anyway josh allen multiple times i am screaming in i don't know glee fear all of it
05:18because he'd be he'd get his full head of steam and then lower his shoulder on a safety yeah i'm
05:24like
05:24what did he oh my god did he slide i don't think he slid once one time i don't think
05:29he slid one time
05:30in the open field i i mean i'm sorry like i don't want to yell in the radio but this
05:34is me on my couch
05:35oh my god get up he's fine he's an animal he's an absolute animal he saw everybody pointing out that
05:44he kneeled in back-to-back weeks and said okay watch this i'm going into every defender that i see
05:49in this game i mean i totally can believe they won in part because before joe brady might have
05:56done some things that were questionable about kicking a field goal the rams who could have
06:00scored at will until 2037 decided hey that little green line on the screen for this guy's career long
06:08feels like it's good enough let's run it a couple times and kick thank you to sean mcveigh thank you
06:14to
06:14the rams special teams also if you're a rams fan of which i don't think there are very many their
06:19special teams kill them all the time it's why they didn't win the super bowl last year it's special
06:24teams and here they are again with like another complete gap i don't think that kick was going in
06:29any what no it's hard to tell but it the trajectory looked like it was missing to the left it
06:34looked
06:34like it was a shank yeah it looked like a shank whatever credit to greg rousseau for the block
06:38there he made a great practice we did maybe it it could have faded back we don't know right never
06:42know it was definitely starting well left of the uprights though and then we it would have had to
06:46move could not believe they're starting to line up like let's let's just kick from here this is
06:51fine i both both coaches decide like we're good with 45 48 yards like what what's the what's wrong
06:58with trying to get to 30 right you're you're that afraid of running two more plays you've scored
07:04touchdowns at every drive for an hour and a half right no defense has made a stop i mean like
07:09both
07:09coaches here like just both run a play if you're the bills run allen again get the kick to 30
07:14yards
07:15bass is not automatic he missed one earlier in the day yeah and for the rams puka has gotten five
07:21yards on every pass the entire game you're running it up the middle and third and five to settle for
07:26a
07:2648 yard field goal as well that was scared coaching yep by both totally wild scared or very confident
07:33kickers that maybe don't deserve that confidence so but they win and listen i'm here to tell you
07:39that the win is a important win i know it's not the traditional afc tiebreakers and on and on and
07:45on
07:45but that's a game that you have won that new england lost they lost to seattle right you beat the
07:52rams
07:53we only sometimes think about these divisional races in terms of what's your divisional record
07:57what's your head-to-head but the difference between this this division going to a tiebreaker of two
08:03teams that are 12 and 5 and the bills being 13 and 4 is that one you already know they
08:09played that
08:09game they played it opening night against seattle they lost it you have made that up on them so
08:14they have one game on you by beating you you have one game on them by winning a game they
08:19did not win
08:20and you have another chance to do that by the way against baltimore because new england has already
08:24played their three games that you don't play so whatever they stay in first place man there were so
08:29many things there was a punch after the game i didn't see the punch bradley chubb got you didn't
08:34see the video i didn't see he got clocked by uh jackson the tackle from the rams he is getting
08:39suspended i went to bed i did i that kick went to the uprights and i ran upstairs and went
08:43to bed after
08:44a jersey swap nonetheless jackson is doing a jersey swap with somebody else chubb says something to him
08:50jackson goes over to him midfield and clocks him which i think if you're the other you're the
08:55teammate of bradley chubb and you have his jersey you no longer can keep that jersey or you get chubb
09:00to sign it and you say like thanks for the memories that could that that would be good too what
09:05else i
09:06mean just i was yelling at my tv at the end of the game like go slower go slower and
09:14that maybe cost
09:15them i mean i think they could have held it for the last the last kick but that would have
09:19been a
09:19little tougher there's that max harrison benched early in the game max harrison benched then on
09:25the field ty johnson was incredible in this game james cook fumbles in an unbelievable moment and the
09:32bills go back to him which was yeah quite something did you know i wonder by the way if they
09:37do run
09:38more plays to get closer for a field goal if they weren't so worried about handing the ball to james
09:42cook did you which by the way gets to my point if they don't really feel comfortable handing the ball
09:46to anybody else right even though they actually kind of did in this game did you know cook was the
09:52most fumble prone running back in the league before last night i knew that devin singletary was when i
09:57did was on the bills yep and i think i knew this about cook i did not know how big
10:01of a gap yeah
10:02between him and second place and there were two last night right so that inflates it a little bit
10:06but bill barnwell had that that is 11 fumbles for james cook since the start of 2025 no other running
10:12back in football has more than six he is more almost double second place and i i might have
10:19thought like okay he maybe he's near the top of the league like there are fumbles here and there he's
10:24had a couple recently but i never would have guessed that he is almost twice as twice as much
10:30fumbles as anybody else yeah like there's not really anything you can do about that though right
10:36like unless you want to go like trade for saquon barkley like you can you can't really do anything
10:40you can work with the player you can try to coach the player right but at the end of the
10:44day
10:45i'm sure they've already been doing that right like to say like oh today hey maybe we should try
10:51to figure out james's a fumble problem right like you haven't been working on that for a year and a
10:56half while he's been the most fumble prone running back in the league i don't know do we have to
11:00do the
11:01same thing with him that we often do with with josh sometimes which is like if you're gonna have a
11:04guy
11:05that good i guess you're gonna live with that i think that's where you're at they just swapped in
11:09ray davis would they get the same production out of the backs just don't think so it's another
11:14example like i've been trying to make this point and maybe this is the best case i've got for it
11:18although allen carried the ball 10 times for 121 yards but why don't they run the ball a couple
11:23times there because they don't trust cook because they won't give it to anybody else how many plays
11:29are there in this game total a million and ray davis did get two carries for two yards and one
11:33he had
11:33one pass right that went for a while but right we're handing the ball off and the ball off they
11:37don't
11:37want to hand it to anybody else no matter what and and allen 107 of his yards were scrambles which
11:42by the way was next gen stats had most this season third most in a game that they've ever tracked
11:47for a quarterback so of the 121 yards he ran for only 14 were designed so like designed runs in
11:55this
11:55game it was james cook 111 and 16 for everybody else like it is his show yep if they're running
12:02the
12:02ball it's it's him 25 carries like i mean it worked for the most part throughout the game you just
12:08you can't it was the same guy punched it out both times right landman yeah
12:11puka nakuwa 17 catches for 138 on 24 targets dink and dunk they took their dink and dunk
12:21they took what the defense gave them the defense bent and broke quite a bit there was lots of bending
12:27bending and lots of breaking and whatever it's a win for four and one take the win vegas next is
12:34138 yards on 24 targets not a bad result would you would you have thought it was more if i
12:39told you
12:40he's getting the ball thrown at him 24 times in this game would you have thought would you have
12:43taken 138 yards it's a good question the best way to evaluate that is on that this is where epa
12:49is
12:50really important yeah because did he get eight times every time eight yards every time they needed
12:54seven yards because then it's a very important eight yards per play right so man i'll pull up
13:00the box score and see what his uh individual epa was 8030550 to join us what a game josh allen
13:08is a
13:08freak and has a playoff win under his belt finally overtime win yeah overtime win yeah he has playoff
13:17we'll get some calls in on the defense like whatever who have we all officially was was this
13:26game the official turning if it wasn't already here the official turning of can sean mcdermott ever
13:33build a good defense to can brandon bean ever build a good defense they fired their coach because
13:39their defense has let them down their defense is worse than it has ever been a by a lot it
13:44is by a lot
13:46horrifically bad yeah they have no answers at linebacker they have no answers in the secondary
13:51a good quarterback and a smart coach can do whatever they want to this defense and they
13:57should have lost because of it but they their defensive uh stud greg rousseau you know gets
14:02a hand on a kick but and and the other coach left you off the hook a little bit yeah
14:06mcveigh but
14:07jim leonard right now jim leonard and this defense like are there i've been leaning on and clinging to
14:13there are signs that it could come together and i boy it would be the greatest turnaround in nfl history
14:22how good does it have to be part of me wants to believe this is this is the tales all
14:26this time
14:26joe if they need one thing one thing at the deadline do they need to try to fix the entire
14:33defense by making an acquisition or should they go get the best receiver they can so they can put up
14:3740 a night because because you're just punting them because you just know there's not one this
14:43defense is not one person away maybe it's the scheme change whatever it is like what's the right
14:47answer for the thing to help them win the whole thing which a defense this bad it would take a
14:56miracle right take a lot it would definitely it's i don't think it's one player away by any means and
15:01it is probably the players are so bad that it's preventing them from playing the way that they
15:07sold they were going to play oh they don't play aggressive at all aggressive that was the leslie
15:12frazier's defense i've ever seen yesterday yeah they were just sitting back off coverage soft zone
15:19rushing for no blitzing like that was the total opposite of what we were sold about what this defense
15:28was going to be and is that just because they just have no faith in the secondary to play the
15:34way that i mean i guess i don't know what the alternative is though the alternative is what
15:38all out aggression put your guys on islands and then what it's just gonna be bigger plays
15:43because that's the one thing they clearly were just trying to do all days take your seven yards take
15:48your five yards to take your whatever we're not letting you go over the top and were there really
15:55any plays that went over the top there are a lot of plays like intermediate over the middle i mean
15:59important situations puka is like open in a hole on the zone in the in the final drive that the
16:05rams
16:05had but that that i think is the biggest surprise is not just that they're bad on defense but it's
16:12that
16:13they've kind of accepted that we're going to play as conservative as possible total opposite of what we
16:19were hearing about in the in the summer you can't play more conservative than they did yesterday no
16:23right 80305 there are third and fives where the corners are 10 yards off like giving them the first
16:30down like we know we're going to give you the first down here because we just are so afraid of
16:35you
16:35getting big plays on us puka had a first down on 42 percent of his uh of his receptions of
16:43his
16:43targets rather his epa was uh 0.2 per play what if i told you that uh ty johnson out
16:49epa'd puka
16:50because he did jake he had seven he had half the yards and only four targets right big plays yeah
16:55yeah not just on per play but overall too he yeah he out epa'd puka who had 24 targets
17:01jake and elma jake leads us off good morning hey guys uh yeah i just uh i was listening to
17:08the
17:08broadcast um i i was switching back and forth between your game cast and and then the you know
17:14the the the other broadcast and like i i was working so like i couldn't really watch much of
17:21the game but i watched all the highlights afterwards uh the whole 25 minutes of highlights and like
17:27i don't know i don't think they look that bad i mean it sounded like the like both broadcasts were
17:34like just like talking about us like we were just terrible like worst defense ever and everything
17:42we won the game well we were in we thought differently about the defense though
17:48i got well yeah i'm a little concerned but like benford got hurt and like you know they had to
17:54put
17:55another rookie in at linebacker and like um it like you know i they they won in a shootout it
18:03was
18:03a shootout yeah we saw and and and uh you know winning is winning and and like as far as
18:11like you know
18:11we again alan i mean i mean you're never going to see matt stafford and i love matt matthew stafford
18:20i'm a big matt stafford fan like but you're not going to see him dash down the field like for
18:2720 30
18:28yards like you know like for a crucial you know play or whatever that's right and then and then and
18:35then we're so blocking that kick like you know like it's it's football i mean i've been playing
18:41football since i was six years old like and like i'm 38 now and you know like i i thought
18:48i thought it
18:48was a great game it was a great it was a great it was a great game and they're four
18:53and one like
18:54jake what is the point here jake what is what is what is confusing here well i don't know a
19:00lot of
19:00people are talking about how leonard is a bad defensive coordinator i mean they have a they've he's
19:06he's he's just starting out like it's it's it's a long season and like yeah all my all my friends
19:13are talking about how we have like the worst pass defense like they've ever seen it's pretty close
19:20man they do hold on hold on because i'll get to one thing like this this is a point that
19:24i like to make
19:25and maybe it's because i'm when you get to these games who has a good defense going into that game
19:33the rams yeah the rams and what happened you got into one of those games you and these games happen
19:40and they have tend to happen with josh allen a lot josh gets into shootouts you have a great
19:45defense going in whether it's 13 seconds whether it's this game whether it's sorry to reference this
19:50again seahawks rams seahawks niners these games are played on a different level these are not your
19:58typical football games where you walk in and say like if you just run and stop the run you should
20:03be
20:03okay if you just win the turnover battle anybody want to see what the turnover battle was see what it
20:07was
20:08huh two nothing rams they won the turnover battle who won the game the bills different game you're
20:15playing on a different plane when you play in these types of games and the bills with josh allen tend
20:20to
20:21play in these types of games whether they have a good defense or a bad defense but they won and
20:27i i tend
20:28to get to that point when i get to the playoffs if this had been a playoff game and there
20:32are six
20:32consecutive touchdown drives going back and forth both fan bases feel like their defense
20:37is bad no matthew stafford won't rip off a 21 yard run you know what he will do surgically dissect
20:44you pass by pass he threw for 383 yards he ripped you apart because your defense doesn't have answers
20:52so i don't know jake if you're i don't think anybody's i shouldn't say anybody's mad people
20:57are evaluating this team not on the ability to win a game on october 12th i'm thrilled they won i
21:01think
21:01it's amazing josh allen is a freak show and this might be the first time in the josh allen era
21:07where i'm convinced i don't think they can fix the defense i think it's gonna be very bad and
21:14that doesn't happen in a vacuum that what is that who does that reflect on it has to reflect on
21:20somebody the whole idea of changing it was to get a better result and right now the results it would
21:25be very hard for the results on defense to be worse so can they totally flip the script and have
21:31the
21:31one of the top one of the bottom five defenses in football and then get to the postseason and put
21:35together a masterpiece let's hope that would be great but is there any reason to think that will
21:42happen though other than just blind hope there's very little reason to think the defense is going
21:46to completely fix itself i mean i don't know i've got all the film guys tell me it's just
21:50communication communication okay whether it's igb or hairston or i mean cole bishop you know like he
21:58looks a little lost right what's happening cj garner johnson like you're getting beat by
22:02stafford and davante adams to me i want to kind of defend that and say everybody does last week
22:08patrick sertan's getting beat by those guys he's one of the top three corners in football
22:13so i i'm a little bit with you jake i'm all over the place because i've been defense me fence
22:18for
22:18multiple years here i watch them try to make a change to get more aggressive and i think part of
22:23your big point is nothing what we were sold on the defense even exists they're not aggressive
22:28they don't blitz they're not playing heavy man they're just very very conservative because they
22:34are getting toasted no matter what they do right they are stopping the run they're stopping the run
22:39i i do think for me like i think both are true i am pretty much like their defense i
22:48think is one of
22:48the worst five defenses in football the stats back it up like miami's got you know tank squad out there
22:54like maybe you could say they're worse detroit's pretty bad dallas is bad like but they're in that
22:58group but i've long been a believer that if your offense is good enough it won't stop you
23:04from winning the super bowl if your offense is good enough and i think their offense is probably good
23:12enough i i don't know what to do with yesterday in that department because i was thoroughly impressed
23:19by allen and his running ability their ability to run the ball when cook wasn't fumbling and again
23:26i think was the best i've seen their screen game look by a lot ever but i also even there
23:33like
23:34noticing like dj moore is not on the field and nobody gets open this offense which through a couple
23:41of games of the season looked like oh they're totally different it's joe brady's got the the
23:45handcuffs off because sean mcdermott's here and i'm like i think that could just be the dj moore's
23:49here that's it and he wasn't here last year and basically when he's not on the field they look
23:55like the exact same offense that they used to be and guess what that exact same offense though can
24:00sometimes be uh that 37 points because you have a a pegasus at quarterback that's just running
24:07around out there and nobody can stop him what was dumber by the way the bills not ever doubling
24:12puka or the rams never spying allen the entire game did they ever get around to doing it i don't
24:19think they did no not at all and he made he i mean he ran circles around landman and
24:25you know who else had a rough game is cam kitchens like see it's another game where the safeties the
24:30bills play against are in hell other than he is the one who caught shakir right he is but that
24:36was
24:36it like everything else was possibly the most ridiculous tackle in the history of the world
24:42why because it was he didn't even actually get his foot his hand is on the ground and shakir's toe
24:49hits his hand yeah right and it tripped himself up after yeah like because his feet got a little
24:55it's it's yeah it's one of the strangest tackles i've ever seen in my life and it almost cost him
24:59the game so great effort from him all right 8030550 if you think i don't know give us a call
25:05on
25:05whatever you think i i kind of did not expect the first call to be like what do you mean
25:10the
25:10defense not not that bad was that the case it was basically don't don't do anything with the
25:18defense because they won the football game basically if they won with they win the football game you're
25:21not allowed to talk about the defense i'll give you one thing real quickly about which i think is
25:25the bills won't do that today they'll they'll evaluate their defense right not just that but like
25:30what happened in the first half versus the second half because i had somebody tweet in they only
25:33it's just the defense got worn down no not really what happened was the pace of the game changed
25:39that's it the first drive the rams had they went all the way not all the way they went down
25:43the
25:43field got in position for a field goal and missed it right and then they went 71 yards in 7
25:4810
25:49then there's a punt in the second second half what happened was the rams started scoring quicker
25:55and at will and so did the bills in the fourth quarter there were touchdown drives sorry starting with
26:00the uh bills touchdown drive at the end of the third quarter there were six consecutive touchdown
26:04drives here are the times on those drives 133 359 329 248 414 535 134 that's insane six drives the
26:12longest took 535 lightning quick in the first half of this game the bills had a field goal drive last
26:18525 the rams had a touchdown drive last 7 10 like you this often happens in these games too the
26:25first
26:25half is just we're out here just kind of you know playing each other feeling each other out and then
26:29you
26:29get it the second half and it's josh allen matthew stafford it's gangbusters we're scoring at will
26:35and thank you to sean mcveigh for stopping trying to score and kick a field goal from the distance
26:40he kicked it from yeah it was tough truly insane and maybe also taking the ball first
26:46i'm starting to i'm starting to not i can't decide what i wanted overtime to be i think it's a
26:50great
26:51rule because i can't decide what is better taking a first or second yeah the rams won the toss and
26:56kicked right because i'd want the ball first i think i'd want the ball first too then again and
27:02it like kind of worked for them but not really we don't we don't know right like because yeah
27:06what are the bills gonna go for two if they get it first great question then again maybe maybe the
27:11rams thought well they're not gonna use all 10 minutes and we can score in one minute if we need
27:14to maybe they were they were reacting to the pace like the way this is going like this is not
27:19going
27:19to take this is not gonna be a 10 minute drive right right so what a win 8030 550 to
27:25give us a ring on
27:25this if you want to complain about the defense you want to complain about some game management
27:28you want to marvel at josh allen and james cook and khalil shakir i mean played a big part of
27:34this
27:34game ty johnson big part of this game as well 8030 550 or greg rousseau can you win special teams
27:39player of the week as a defensive player yeah of course yeah okay just making sure has anybody ever
27:47won defensive i don't defensive player of the week and special teams player of the week
27:52that's a good question that's a good question i saw ben solak tweet that he should win defensive
27:55player of the year and i thought wait a minute that play should not count towards his resume
27:59special teams play that's tough all right lots to get you on wgr
28:02here
