00:02Charlotte Jermaine is legally blind and uses Meta glasses almost every day.
00:07I'm reading letters that I get in the post, if I'm out and about reading menus, just seeing what my
00:13environment is, what's in front of me.
00:14For the disability advocate it's been life-changing.
00:17Hey Meta, is there an ice chocolate on the menu?
00:22That's concerned smart glasses restrictions could limit her access to the world.

00:32Smart glasses have been banned in council areas in Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as in all public schools in
00:37WA.
00:37A ban has also been proposed for the Adelaide City Council area, but experts say outright bans could be legally
00:44murky.

01:10They do a lot more than just take photos and videos.
01:14Here in SA, the Greens are pushing for legislation to outlaw smart glasses in places like schools, childcare centres and
01:21swimming pools, but they also want to include exemptions for people with a disability.
01:26Charlotte Germain says an exemption could add extra stress.
01:29I have enough concerns with my guide dog Zeke if we could be refused entry into a venue.
01:34I don't need to be thinking now, am I going to be refused entry because of my smart glasses?
01:38Striking the balance between privacy and the use of a new potentially vital visual aid.
01:43A table that's a very important thing, is that you can put your diagnosis on the wall to the wall
01:43to the wall to the wall.
01:44So instead, the variables are not as close as possible.
01:45How do I do it to the right?
