00:00And let me bring in Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary, who was there on Ground Zero.
00:04Ms. Chaudhary, appreciate your time.
00:06You were there on Ground Zero today during protests.
00:08I spoke to you as well.
00:09Petition has been filed in the Apex Court.
00:12How is the Congress looking at sustaining this fight against the CEC and the Election Commission?
00:18What will you be doing in the next few days to sustain this?
00:24I think you must have realized by now, even the media, that it's taken on a life of its own.
00:32It did from day one.
00:34And different aspects of this vote jury has been going on.
00:39Rahul Gandhi has been raising this for the past three years, almost.
00:44And so it's taken on a life of its own because citizens are horrified that they've been disenfranchised.
00:56They can't vote.
00:57Something which this nation gave them from day one of independence.
01:01Something which so-called advanced other countries didn't give their women the right to vote.
01:10So it's horrific.
01:11It's we are going to do our best.
01:15And we will fight till the last, till we get what we have to.
01:21So in this petition, which has been filed by Rahul Gandhi and other India Bloc leaders is
01:26that the ongoing SIR exercise must be put on hold, that it should be stayed.
01:32The Election Commission has restored original Form 6 format.
01:36What next in this fight against the special intensive revision map?
01:42We are missing the woods for the trees.
01:45Form 6 has been withdrawn now.
01:48What about all those lakhs of crores of people who have lost their right to vote?
01:53Because of Form 6, how many have lost their rights?
01:58And there was a Form 7 discrepancies even in Form 7 that was happening.
02:05So they just can't say, okay, now we've changed the rule, just like they've changed Jantar Mantar as a protest
02:10area.
02:11Now we've decided that this is not it.
02:13So you don't have any complaint.
02:15You shouldn't have any complaint.
02:17And so then nothing's happened.
02:19It doesn't work like that.
02:22You have humiliated this great country of ours in the eyes of the world.
02:27You have admitted to its tacit understanding if you have withdrawn this, that there were aberrations in it.
02:35You have given clarity that, yes, you have earned.
02:40It's an error of judgment.
02:44So what is your problem now?
02:47Now you just want us to forget it and go back and sit quietly and say, yes, sir, no, sir,
02:52three bags full, sir.
02:53It doesn't work like that unless we take this up and pursue it to its right end and we restore
03:02the confidence, which is going to be very tough, to the citizens that, listen, here's your most valuable thing that
03:12you have on earth.
03:12The biggest leveler that the day the election runs, everybody, the millionaire, the multimillionaire, the ordinary person, the middle class,
03:22the student who's 18, everybody's equal in the eyes of the nation and law.
03:30You can vote.
03:32It's the most amazing weapon.
03:34It is the most amazing magic wand that equalizes everyone.
03:40So why should you keep court?
03:42But why is it now that the matter is over?
03:44It's not.
03:47My last question, and this certainly will be seen as an embarrassment for your party.
03:52The Kerala Congress's tweet, which in which they said CGI Sudeikans should resign.
03:58Now you have the Supreme Court Advocates Association, all of them strongly condemning it.
04:04Shouldn't there be caution on the part of the Congress?
04:07Why demand the resignation of the Chief Justice of India?
04:14It's not just the Congress.
04:16Sometimes the enthusiasm carries us forward in many ways and many directions.
04:21And it's right for them to say that exercise caution.
04:25And it will be exercise.
04:28That's it.
04:29But they must remember, if it's not us, someone else is going to say things like this.
04:34So we've all got to collectively restore the confidence of the nation that the courts are strong and independent, that
04:43they will conduct themselves.
04:45Today, for example, has been a wild aberration.
04:48Supreme Court had given clear-cut instructions about this agitation in the center.
04:53They said that the government had no right or authority to barricade roads, remove the internet, harass people, pick them
05:04up.
05:04Has the government complied?
05:07Have they complied?
05:09Not at all.
05:11They have violated every law.
05:15And today, the capital of this country is under siege by its own government.
05:24And it's not a nice thing for us to say.
05:27But then, where do we go?
05:29Where do we go?
05:30This is a fact.
05:31The world is watching.
05:33They're watching how the police want it, how the courts conduct themselves, how justice is dressed up, how democracy sustains
05:41itself.
05:43And in such an upheaval, uprise, there are bound to be aberrations here and there.
05:50But it's not enough that somebody gets up and says that they disapprove of this.
05:55Of course, they will say it.
05:57And it's okay.
05:58We respect the Chief Justice of India.
06:01And we look forward that he will restore this balance.
06:05All right, Reniko Chaudhary.
06:07Appreciate your time.
06:08Thank you for joining us.
06:09That's all from me on this edition of News Track.
06:11Thanks so much for watching.
