Meet 55 Cancri e, a super-Earth about 41 light-years away. It orbits its star in less than 18 hours and is hot enough for molten rock to cover much of its surface. Observations from the James Webb Space Telescope also suggest it may have an atmosphere that redistributes heat. The visuals are scientific artist concepts, not direct photographs of the planet.
