00:00Well, look, thank you very much, Steve, and it's great to be with you here again and see the great
00:04work you do here in regional New South Wales.
00:06I've driven seven hours from Wagga Wagga to be here today just to stand with the coal miners of the
00:13Hunter Valley,
00:13to stand with the workers across Australia and say that we've got your back.
00:17We're going to fight for workers in this country.
00:19We're not going to put up with an absurd situation where courts, unelected judges, will decide that industries will not
00:26have jobs,
00:27that people will not have food, that families will not be able to stay in their home because of emissions
00:32that occur in another country.
00:34That is absolutely ridiculous, and it's not what the law should say.
00:38If it does say that, and that's how it's been interpreted, the laws need to change.
00:42And so this decision here is a test for all members of Parliament about whose side are you on.
00:48You're going to be on the side of the hardworking men and women of this country who do want a
00:53future that they can be guaranteed of.
00:54I heard the Resources Minister this morning, the Labor Resources Minister, Federal Minister say,
00:59oh, we're being alarmist because the Mount Pleasant mine will go for another six years to 2032.
01:05Well, it might be news to Minister King and the Labor Party,
01:09but a lot of workers have mortgages that go out beyond six years,
01:12and they kind of need a job for the next 10, 20, 30 years to provide for their families,
01:17and six years is just an insult for a party that's meant to look after workers and laborers.
01:21That's in their name.
