00:00Hi Mo!
00:00This is Apple Martin and today I'm going to walk you through my everyday stressed out
00:06college student skincare and my go-to little winged eyeliner look.
00:13First step is get some nice ice and ice your face to de-puff, but I don't like touching
00:19the ice myself because it's really cold.
00:21I feel like this is my first time where people are hearing me talk, which is really weird
00:25because I talk a lot in real life.
00:28Now we wash my face, all right, oh yeah it's goop, but now we're going to wash this off.
00:36I just found them these little clean skin towels, which I highly recommend.
00:44It's recyclable, compostable I think, but yeah, pat this off, don't rub your face, very important
00:50apparently.
00:51Now we have toner, this is a calming toner.
00:54So I'm 21, which is crazy.
00:58I know I still have a little bit of blemishes and such, but it was really bad in high school.
01:04And next I have this little serum, which I really like, I just started using it.
01:09Um, it is an anti-blemish and scar repair.
01:13So, we need that.
01:15But, it's really nice and very soothing and like, I don't know, I'm really into it.
01:21I also like, kind of like do this and tap it into my skin, get the blood flow pumping.
01:29I put my moisturizer on in a really odd way because I wash off, wow, like when I do my
01:35moisturizer, so I do it in sections.
01:37I mean, I had, my acne was not like crazy, crazy.
01:41But, it definitely affected like, my self esteem.
01:47Luckily, the worst it got was during COVID, so I could kind of like, hide it.
01:54Now I'm just kind of like, I'm human.
01:56Like, what am, what am I going to do if I have a pimple?
01:59It's not the end of my life.
02:01My mom definitely like, gave me advice and like, God bless her.
02:04She would ask all of her super goopy people about like, where I should go visit.
02:09I went to the dermatologist a million times.
02:10You find a good chill skincare routine and like, drink a lot of water.
02:16And honestly, the more that you stress about it, the worse it'll get, most likely.
02:21This is all stress.
02:22So, honestly, I think that everyone is still gorge.
02:25And like, just, if you wake up and then you have a new pimple, just be like, all right,
02:29that's what today's going to be like.
02:30But next I have sunscreen.
02:32This is the sunscreen that made me start like, using sunscreen every day.
02:40Next, you have little eye patches.
02:42These are the 111 skin, de-puffing ones.
02:46And I love them so much.
02:49Oh my God, wait, these match my pajamas.
02:52I did decide to go to university.
02:54Honestly, well, at the time, I was like, really, really deterred from doing anything creative.
03:00And I was like, you know, in that rebellious, I don't want to be like my parents, like, type of
03:06phase.
03:09And then we have, well, body cream.
03:10I got, you know, classic college experiences such as like getting mold poisoning from your dorm.
03:16Like, I feel like if you're in an old dorm, it usually happens.
03:20University really, I think, is such a formative part of your life because you go and you have no idea
03:27who you are.
03:27For me, it just kind of like all fell into place at a certain point.
03:31Like, this girl ran up to me and she was like, I hear that you're a secret theater kid.
03:34And I was like, I told you that.
03:37And then she was like, you need to come audition for this work.
03:40And then I did.
03:40And now I'm like directing a show and like love it more than anything.
03:43Oh, by the way, next is hair oil because I am not a natural.
03:47Well, I'm kind of a natural blonde sometimes, but I've gotten in arguments about whether I'm a natural blonde or
03:53not.
03:53But hair oil is very important if you bleach your hair.
03:56And I put it on every morning, just a little like on the ends.
03:59Moving with my mom was like actually the funniest thing in the entire world.
04:04I had dislocated my knee a week before I moved in.
04:09And this meant that I couldn't really do it myself because I couldn't walk.
04:14I have this one photo of her with like a mattress pad like this.
04:17And she's like, ah, trying to carry it up the stairs.
04:20Like she gets in there and like immediately is like, don't touch anything.
04:24We need to Lysol every surface.
04:26I need a Clorox wipe in every crevice.
04:28This is my favorite perfume in the world, Rose Olivier from Bastide.
04:33And my friends always say that they can smell me coming in the room.
04:37And that it's a lovely scent.
04:40Last step is I do a little bit of this retinol eye cream.
04:44But just a tiny, tiny bit because my concealer is also technically like an eye cream.
04:50But I just like a little and I need a lot of help with dark circles.
04:55So fun fact, when I was born, I was born not only was I the longest baby ever born in
05:01this hospital in England.
05:02I was also born with dark circles and really large eyes.
05:07So I looked like a little bit of an alien in like a really cute way.
05:11I was two feet long when I was born.
05:13So, and now contrary to what the internet says, I'm not 5'8".
05:18I am 5'10 and 3 quarters.
05:20I'm very tall and I love it.
05:22I used to not, but now I love being tall so badly.
05:25Skin tent, which I love.
05:27If you are putting makeup on, then you should try and make sure that it's not gonna break you out.
05:34I love typology for that purpose.
05:37I might be a little too pale, but it's okay.
05:42I don't know who I look more like.
05:44I'm not gonna lie.
05:45I think that it depends on the day who I look more like.
05:48I saw something on Instagram once that was like, oh my God.
05:51It was like girls when you tell them that they look like their fathers and it's like some dude in
05:56a wig.
05:57But next we have concealer.
05:58This is also from typology.
06:00I love it.
06:01It's technically not.
06:02It's just supposed to go on your eyes, but I also, I'm not gonna lie.
06:06I just need this to be covered for right now.
06:15My mom's wardrobe from her 20s is just about my favorite thing in the entire world.
06:24Over winter break, I was a little Grinch Christmas robbery.
06:28I went back down there and I dabbled in trying everything on.
06:33It like makes me emotional thinking about the things in that closet.
06:37But I found this one pair of 90s YSL like boot cut suit pants.
06:44And she's like, that is not appropriate to bring to college.
06:47And I'm like, okay, fine.
06:48So then when I'm home, then I just like wear it around the house instead.
06:53But I did take those pants back to college.
06:56Cause like I couldn't, they make me want to do my work.
06:58You know what I mean?
06:59They're very like boss babe vibe.
07:02So I love them.
07:03This is the Westman Atelier little contour.
07:11I just went to the Marty's Supreme premiere, which was my first red carpet.
07:17I've never felt more like awesome in my life.
07:21I didn't know that when you like step out, like it is the scariest thing in the entire world.
07:27And the whole time I'm just like look normal, like look normal, look normal, look normal.
07:31And everyone's just like apple, apple, apple, apple.
07:34Over your shoulder.
07:34And I'm like, I don't know where to look.
07:36Like I really want you guys all to get the photos that you need, but I literally don't know what
07:39to do.
07:39And I'm feeling really scared and overwhelmed.
07:42And this is my first time doing this.
07:44Like, please be nice to me.
07:45But like, it was so fun.
07:47And then the movie was so good.
07:49See, that was a moment where everyone was like, you're your mom's twin.
07:52And I was like, thank you.
07:54I'll take it.
07:55Are you kidding?
07:56Now I do powder and say, I like that brand.
08:01Like once I find something like a brand that I like, I become very, very loyal.
08:05Say is clearly an example.
08:07I love them.
08:09Um, they want to give a girl a gift at some point.
08:14I'm kidding.
08:15Kind of.
08:18This is my eyeshadow palette makeup by Mario.
08:21The mattes.
08:22I just discovered this eyeshadow palette.
08:24I'm not going to lie.
08:25My eyeshadow brushes probably have like nine shades mixed in.
08:29I like to do like, kind of start to shape where my wing is going to go with the eyeshadow.
08:37I love to highlight my eyes.
08:39I used to hate, hate my eyes because, um, people would make fun of me in elementary school
08:45and middle school saying that I looked like Sid the sloth.
08:48And now the internet does that for them.
08:50Thank God.
08:51I have very expressive eyes.
08:53And I think that's really fun because like, well, I mean, it's fun and then it's not because
08:57if like, I'm upset or in a bad mood, like everyone can tell immediately.
09:01When I was younger, maybe it's because there were less like laws around paparazzi or something.
09:06That made me feel really weird and like not normal.
09:10You, you're trying so hard to be normal, but like, and like you are kind of in a way because
09:14like you didn't do anything.
09:16Like you just like popped out into the world as a little baby.
09:20And like, everyone was like, oh my God.
09:22And you're like, what?
09:23Shout out to like my friends in college.
09:25Cause they've made me feel so like normal and awesome.
09:29I'm so scared to do my eyeliner on here and I'm worried I'm going to mess it up.
09:33This makeup by Mario again, shout out.
09:36It's so good.
09:41Ariana Grande just like goes whoop and it's on.
09:44And I'm like, look, look insane.
09:48Okay.
09:49I already got it on my eye.
09:58I did one.
09:59Thank God.
10:00This is the thing.
10:01I have uneven eyes.
10:02Like my eyes are a little bit different.
10:04Um, but then that does make doing my eyeliner quite difficult.
10:08Then after that, this is my favorite, favorite, favorite thing to do.
10:14Same eyeshadow palette.
10:15I mixed the two darker Browns, these two, and I go over it because it lasts because it has
10:23the liquid eyeliner underneath it.
10:26But this is where I actually like do the proper wing.
10:29The liquid eyeliner is more of like security.
10:32I think I like to do Brown because I have found that if you're blonde and have blue eyes
10:40specifically, cause they counteract each other on the color wheel.
10:43It makes them pop more.
10:46Then I take a little Brown pencil eyeliner.
10:49This has been through it.
10:51And then I do a tiny bit of waterline into my inner corner.
10:57I had to learn how to do this for dance competitions.
11:01Time to come clean.
11:02I got lip filler one time.
11:04I think I got it when I was 18.
11:05I just thought that it was too big, but everyone seems to think that I have crazy lip filler.
11:10I just pout my lips a lot and I put on a lot of lip liner.
11:12Oh, by the way, Ilia, eyebrow jaw.
11:15Love.
11:18Um, now I'm crawling my eyelashes.
11:19Oh my God.
11:23Mascara time.
11:24Again, Brown mascara.
11:25This is from refi.
11:29If I had to like think of famous beauty icons, like I wish that I could stand there and be
11:33like,
11:33I love this Czech actress from the 1940s.
11:36I don't know.
11:37I don't know them.
11:38I need to get better at being like niche.
11:40I mean, always like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, like gorgeous.
11:44Shalom Harlow, I think is like so stunning.
11:47Gemma Ward.
11:48Oh, my mom and my grandma, such, such beautiful ladies.
11:53I learned a lot of makeup tips from watching, um, RuPaul's Drag Race as well.
11:58I feel like drag queens always do something before everyone else then gets into it.
12:02I need more mascara on the bottom.
12:05I like bottom mascara.
12:08Now we have another typology.
12:10These are the glow drops.
12:12Sometimes I put them, if I'm on like vacation and I'm not really wearing makeup,
12:17then I'll just put these like all over my face, um, with my skincare.
12:21But then I also like to use it as a highlighter.
12:24If I like am doing more of a full, full face of makeup.
12:29My grandma's the most fabulous person over Thanksgiving.
12:33She like comes with like the most intricate, gorgeous necklace.
12:36And then she's wearing a matching shirt and always some funky bag or earring.
12:41Like she's just like amazing.
12:43It's so beautiful.
12:44And I love my grandma.
12:45Shout out to Lalo.
12:47I call her Lalo.
12:48This is a really great fun fact about my grandma.
12:51She cannot remember celebrity names.
12:53Like has never been able to, or family names.
12:56One time she called, um, the comedian Tig Notaro.
13:00Tag Sususa.
13:05Like dead seriously.
13:07She was like, who's that comedian that I love?
13:09What's her name?
13:11Oh, is it Tag Sususa?
13:13And all of us are like, um, what?
13:17And she was like, yes, you know, she has the short hair and she's very funny.
13:20And we're like Tig Notaro.
13:22And it's like the biggest joke in our family now.
13:25Also, I'm going to put on this Refai Rosewood lip sculpt in a second.
13:28The age-old question, why don't I have a British accent?
13:31It haunts me to this day.
13:33It really does.
13:34I used to have a British accent.
13:37And that was really cute.
13:39And do I think that it would have made me like a billion times cooler and prettier?
13:44Like probably.
13:45But I don't have one anymore because apparently if you, well, first of all, I mean, my mom's American.
13:50And so she has an American accent.
13:53We spent every summer in New York as well.
13:55So like that, I think, started to like chip away at it a little bit.
13:59Then when we moved to California, apparently if like you move before you go through puberty, it can like make
14:05your accent go away.
14:06I definitely have a California, like a little California twang.
14:13I do these two for my lips.
14:15I mix them.
14:16But first I do a little like dab of this.
14:20Lip filler optical illusion time.
14:21I line right above my lip.
14:23Once you get the natural shape of your lips, like just go like a tiny, tiny bit above it.
14:27This is also my new favorite thing in the world.
14:30And it's just a little lip tint that I found at a French pharmacy.
14:35And I really like it.
14:36This nice little Charlotte Tilbury setting spray.
14:40Make it last.
14:41Oh, and then this is my final step.
14:44This is the best lip plumper in the world.
14:46I cannot stress that enough.
14:48It looks really weird.
14:49I also lost the lid and I know that that's gross, but I don't want to talk about it.
14:53Um, but this is the Dr. Dennis Gross plump and repair.
14:58And like it has saved my life because other lip plumbers dry out my lips so much.
15:04Cause I have quite like dry skin.
15:06This like makes them just like look so gorgeous.
15:10And it comes with me everywhere.
15:12Yeah, that's my, that's the makeup.
15:14You can see the lips are already plumping.
15:17Not lip filler.
15:19And the eyes are looking gorge.
15:21Really like lady said the sloth.
15:26And yeah, you guys got to hear me.
15:28Got to hear me talk, which is so fun.
15:30And I'll miss you dearly.
15:32And I love you.
15:33Bye.
15:33Bye.
