00:00Hey Vogue, it's Iris Apatow and today I'm going to be walking you through my everyday
00:04skincare routine and do a little red lipstick look.
00:08I'm going to go in with this Dr. Hoschka toner.
00:13I'm using the Dr. Sturm Hyaluronic Serum.
00:18My mom has the most incredible skin and so does my grandma, so I think that's where I
00:24got some of those good genes, but I did go through a period of time where I had pretty
00:29bad hormonal acne.
00:31When I was in high school, middle school, I would take my makeup off with hand soap.
00:36So I have come a long way.
00:39It has not always been good.
00:41My next step is this Dear Claire's Moisturizer.
00:48It's just like thicker because in the winter in New York, you become a little lizard and
00:55you don't want that.
00:56I grew up in a mostly female-led household and my dad was a great girl dad, but everything
01:05was makeup and clothes and girly things.
01:10And I think it was very good that he was in on it and loved it and wanted us to
01:16be happy.
01:16Sunscreen is very important.
01:18I use a lot of sunscreen because I feel like that's going to be the thing that saves me.
01:25One day when everybody's looking raisin-like, I'm going to be fine because of this.
01:32And I've watched all of my favorite idols and they always have the greatest skin because they
01:37just slather themselves in sunscreen.
01:39And your neck because your neck is a part of your face.
01:42Now to like top it all off, I just use this oil.
01:46It's Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil by Drunk Elephant.
01:51I remember when Drunk Elephant like first came out and I had just this oil and it was,
01:58I've used it since I was like 12.
02:01Growing up on sets, you learn a lot about what works for your skin and what makes you break out
02:09because of what other people use on you.
02:11And so my mom has, you know, always told me to just check and see the ingredients.
02:19Just make sure and just always know what you're putting on your skin.
02:23I'm going to come in with this step.
02:24I really like the way it smells.
02:29I'm going to go in with this, the Lip Oasis, the Outset.
02:35I start with my eyebrows because I don't like touching my face with makeup on.
02:43I've never really understood how people wouldn't do this as the first step.
02:48I just kind of lightly fill in my eyebrows because I grew up without them and they kind of weirdly
02:55grew in over the years. I just had blonde eyebrows and I would tint them really dark and it would
03:04look
03:04crazy and people would tell me they look crazy. I did not care.
03:09So I use this Benefit. It's completely cleaned off.
03:13I couldn't tell you anything about the shade or the name of the product,
03:18but it's an eyebrow gel and it works great.
03:22But I love bleached eyebrows to this day and I would go back to it.
03:29I use a little bit of this eyebrow brightener. I mean under eye brightener on my eyelid because
03:38I just have really, I don't know how to describe it. They just look quite gray inside my eyelids and
03:44filled with veins, but that's beautiful too. And you can embrace that, but I just like to lightly cover
03:51them and then go over with a little powder because I get, and it's Pat McGrath and it's the baby
03:56pink.
03:57It's really good if you're really pale, but I just put powder over it.
04:02So what I always do is I line up the tip of my eyebrow to right here, not like there,
04:09but right here.
04:15Okay. I won't ruin it. Okay. Let's see if we can do the other eye.
04:27Did that work? I'd say so. Yeah. I've used this for a long time. It's also kind of destroyed the
04:34telescopic lash and this is just tried and true. It's very good if you want like just long, long
04:42looking lashes. I feel like this video is like my magnum opus makeup. I really thought about it.
04:52I sat with my makeup and I was like, which one of you are my most reliable soldiers? So I
04:59did a movie
05:01called Pretty Lethal. And in the movie, I did this exact cat eye every day. I did it on myself.
05:09It's kind of surreal working with people that you admire at this young, like you feel
05:18like you're in a dream and that's what kind of being around Uma Thurman felt like, okay,
05:22so I'm going to go in with the Benetton. This was like my first makeup thing I owned. So in
05:28this movie,
05:29we do a lot of ballet and we did have to come a few weeks early and do what they
05:36told me it was
05:37called ballet bootcamp. And then everyone laughed at me for calling it that. It was brutal. It was the
05:44summer in Budapest and it was really hot in this like gymnasium and everybody is like real dancers and
05:55it needs to be warm and they didn't want the fans on and I'm just pouring sweat. And it was
06:00amazing to be
06:01around real dancers and watch them shine. Also, I put a little bit of this in my eye.
06:12I go in with this Merit concealer, which I really like. I do a little like that for no reason.
06:19I don't
06:19know what it does. Um, and then I just put like under there on my chin, my T-zone
06:30because that's where I have a little more discoloration, but this is how my friend did
06:36once when I'm copying her, but I take this brush. Oh wait, I'm using this personal day spray. It is
06:43great for sanitizing your face after you've like worked out and stuff, but I put it on my brushes
06:49just to clean them. I don't clean my brushes as much as I'm meant to. And so if it's a
06:56few days,
06:57then you know, you should put that on.
07:04I go back in with the eye brightener and I just do it right here.
07:11I've auditioned for a couple of the Hunger Games movies. Um, and I always have fun with it because
07:20I love the books. I got this audition for this character, Proserpina, and I was immediately
07:28excited about it, but I was like, I have no shot. No way. What I did right before is I
07:33put on like
07:34crazy pink lipstick and eyeshadow and a big pink dress. And, and I was just like, I'm just going
07:40to go for it because either way, it's a cool thing to get to say you played a character even
07:47for two
07:47minutes. The callback was terrifying. And I found out that I got it a little while later. I was so
07:53happy.
07:54I'm going to set my face with this same powder I used on my eyelids earlier.
08:04The first person I call when I get a part is my mom because she is the most supportive ride
08:11or die
08:12friend and mom. It's, it's more exciting to tell her that I got the part than getting the part because
08:19she's so happy. I tell my other friend, Layla, cause she's always like, you need to enjoy this.
08:25This is very important that you take this in. And I'm like, it's just the perfect combo of like,
08:31stay grounded, but be excited. And that, that, those are my two go-tos. Next step. I go in with
08:37this fun blush from Mac. I use this spray on the brush to make it like pick up a little
08:45more pigment.
08:46I don't know where I learned that from. I feel like that's like an old YouTuber,
08:50beauty YouTuber thing that people did. I mean, I used to make my own makeup tutorials.
08:58Hello everyone. Today I'm going to be doing my very honest school get ready with me.
09:05Oh yes.
09:06I know people like to do really cute ones.
09:08Look at me now doing the same makeup, the same blush. I, just in that video,
09:14I just pour it directly on my face.
09:19I feel most confident in a red lip and I kind of always have. So I'm using shade eight and
09:27this Armani
09:29lip pencil that I stole straight from my sister.
09:35I love how it's really just not sharpened at all.
09:44Since I've always felt more confident in this kind of look, I usually do it for red carpets and stuff.
09:54I think about this one look I pulled at the Paranorman premiere, which was a beautiful
10:03popsicle dress. It was so cute. I was like 10. What did I do? Walk straight to the face paint.
10:08Counter and get a zombie on my face. I looked so cute right before two and I hopped on that
10:16carpet quick.
10:18I beelined to the carpet.
10:22I'm always jealous of people who are just able to really be confident on the carpet. But no,
10:28it's very scary, but I grew up loving fashion and my sixth grade teacher, she would show us the Met
10:36Gala
10:37coverage of all the outfits and we're just more obsessed with it. Last little bit of this.
10:45There is a fake eyelash connected to this. If you feel so inclined, you can put a little bit of...
10:57Okay, so this is the full look. A red lip is always very cute. Bye Vogue!
11:02T vale!
11:04Bye Vogue!
