00:00Sepang UMNO Chief Norazli Said has claimed trial to a charge of deliberately wounding the religious feelings of Christians in
00:08a speech last month.
00:09The 48-year-old pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Nurul Iza Hassan Basri at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court today.
00:18Norazli is accused of deliberately wounding the religious feelings of Zinia Lok during a speech at the 2026 UMNO General
00:26Assembly.
00:26The offence allegedly took place at 11.20am on September 12 at Dewan Merdeka World Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur.
00:36The charge was framed under Section 298 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in
00:43jail, a fine, or both upon conviction.
00:46Deputy Public Prosecutor Fadli Zamri proposed bail of RM15,000 with one surety.
00:54But Norazli's lawyer, Hasnal Redzo Amerikan, asked for a bail of between RM4,000 and RM5,000.
01:01The court allowed Norazli bail of RM6,000 with one surety.
01:06The case has been fixed for mention on November 18.
