00:33C'est parti pour la 1e match.
00:49qui fait son New Japan Cup debut
00:521-on-1 vs Tomohiroishi
00:56et encore un matchup
00:57de un heavyweight vs un junior heavyweight
01:00mais Desperado est built
01:02pour fight avec les big boys
01:04ses rouges et rouges style
01:07tailor-made
01:08pour success
01:09en la New Japan Cup
01:17This will be the first time
01:19that El Desperado
01:21and Tomohiroishi meet
01:23in singles action
01:32And over the past year
01:35365 days in total
01:38El Desperado
01:41who missed a significant amount of time
01:43after suffering a broken jaw
01:45has participated in
01:47just 20 matches
01:49and one singles match
01:51In that span of time
01:55Tomohiroishi has been in 83 matches
01:5812 of them
02:00singles encounters
02:01But both men were off
02:04for 110 days
02:05before seeing action
02:06for the first time
02:07at the NJPW Together Special
02:12And so can Tomohiroishi
02:14avoid the upset here
02:15He's pulled upsets
02:17in the first round before
02:18A few years ago
02:20upsetting Kenny Omega
02:21in the first round
02:28This will be Ishii's 12th
02:30New Japan Cup in all
02:32and his 20th
02:33tournament match
02:40And El Desperado
02:42had better pack a lunch
02:43He's going to be there for a while
02:45If history is the indicator
02:47Tomohiroishi in his 20 cup matches
02:494 hours
02:5150 minutes
02:52and 26 seconds
02:53of ring time
02:54That ranks him
02:554th in history
02:56behind only
02:57Tanahashi
02:58Goto
02:59and Yuji Nagata
03:00Thanks Chris Sampson
03:02for the great stats
03:03As always
03:04SportaproWrestling.com
03:16All right
03:18So it will be
03:19Tomohiroishi
03:21versus El Desperado
03:23The final first round match
03:26of night one
03:26of the New Japan Cup
03:28Red Shizuno
03:29is our official
03:30The bell sounds
03:31And we are underway
03:40Last night
03:41these two men met
03:42on opposite sides
03:43of a tag team encounter
03:44And Desperado
03:45along with Suzuki-gun
03:46had no problem
03:47going after the left knee
03:48of Tomohiroishi
03:50At the conclusion
03:51of the match
03:52Ishii did squats
03:53outside the ring
03:54to send a message
03:56to his opponent
03:56tonight
03:57that his knee
03:57is fine
03:58and that they
03:59didn't hurt him
04:09Back into the ropes
04:10referee calling
04:11for a break
04:17And it looks like
04:18we're going to get
04:18a clean break here
04:19but a cautious one
04:21Ishii with his hands up
04:24Desperado
04:26may be saying
04:27Ishii doesn't quite
04:27measure up
04:31And Ishii will respond
04:33with a left hand
04:34around the throat
04:34and a wild swing
04:35and a miss
04:38Desperado trying to
04:39provoke the stone pit bull
04:40and he will certainly
04:41get a receipt
04:43if he is not careful
04:47And Ishii just
04:48leaving himself
04:49wide open
04:49saying go ahead
04:50and hit me
04:52Ishii not going
04:53to be intimidated
04:53by El Desperado
04:59Rocking and firing
05:00both men
05:01trading forearms
05:02This is
05:02This is the way
05:05Ishii likes it
05:06He certainly knows
05:07all the words
05:08to this song
05:11Stomps on the leg
05:12Right at the ankle
05:14And Ishii comes forward
05:15and blasts him
05:16Runs right through him
05:16with a shoulder tackle
05:18Kick directly
05:19into the back
05:20and another
05:22Oh my god
05:28Ishii had a great run
05:29in last year's tournament
05:33And El Desperado
05:35coming back
05:37firing forearms
05:41Meeting resistance
05:42from Tomohiro Ishii
05:45Another tackle
05:46nothing doing
05:48Desperado is going to
05:49have to come up
05:50with a different strategy
05:51to drop down
05:52but Ishii
05:53even out
05:53quickening
05:55Desperado there
05:56hanging on to the ropes
06:03So Ishii
06:04has been in control
06:05here
06:09Desperado tried
06:10to play
06:11the mind games
06:11didn't work
06:12tried to trade
06:13with Ishii
06:13didn't work
06:16And he's going
06:17to trade again
06:18He's got heavy hands
06:20He can throw a chop
06:21no doubt about it
06:23But Ishii
06:24Oh Ishii gets
06:25propelled down
06:27A surprise there
06:29and now Desperado
06:30trying to intimidate
06:32Tomohiro Ishii
06:34Trying to show
06:35he's every bit
06:36as tough
06:37as the stone pit bull
06:40And he kicked him
06:42right in the leg
06:42Right in the knee
06:47He baited him in
06:49and Ishii got caught
06:50And just like last night
06:53Desperado now
06:55going to work
06:55on the left knee
06:56of Tomohiro Ishii
07:00Ishii's knee problems
07:01go back to
07:02last year's
07:03World Tag League
07:04He and Yoshihashi
07:07were a team
07:08and had success
07:09in spite of the fact
07:10that Ishii
07:11was suffering
07:12with an ailing knee
07:14throughout the tournament
07:17And
07:18110 days off
07:20gave Ishii's knee
07:21time to recover
07:22but Ishii
07:23finding Desperado
07:25poking at it
07:26right away
07:26going after that leg
07:27It began last night
07:31and Desperado
07:33raking the eyes down
07:41and now
07:42going to take Ishii
07:43and wrap his legs
07:44around the pole
07:44here perhaps
07:47this is going to be
07:49oh my god
07:50the inside of the knee
07:52wrapped against the steel
07:59and we saw the difficulties
08:01that
08:02Hiroshi Tanahashi
08:03had earlier on
08:04with Suzuki-gun
08:05as Taichi
08:07and Zack Sabre Jr.
08:08set upon
08:09to go after
08:10the ailing knee
08:11of the ace
08:13well the stone pitbull
08:14is finding out
08:17exactly what that pain
08:18is all about
08:19he's hobbled
08:19as he's thrown
08:20into the barricade
08:21on the outside
08:22of the ring
08:26originally
08:27Ishii's first round
08:28opponent
08:28in this tournament
08:29was to be
08:30Toa Hanare
08:32and Hanare
08:33told me personally
08:34he is definitely
08:35going to be watching
08:35this and all
08:37Ishii matches
08:38in this tournament
08:39Hanare said
08:40he predicts
08:41Ishii to go far
08:44and he would love
08:45when he gets back
08:46to Japan
08:48to get that
08:49singles match
08:49against Tomohiro Ishii
08:51Desperado
08:52stomping on that knee
08:54and Ishii
08:54still finding time
08:56still finding the effort
08:57to talk some trash
09:00Desperado dropping
09:01all of his weight
09:02down into that knee capsule
09:13and
09:15Ishii screaming out
09:16in pain
09:17Red Shoe's
09:18putting the count on
09:19and Ishii goes
09:20after the eyes
09:21of Desperado
09:22but just for a second
09:29and now standing
09:30on that knee
09:31you can see
09:32exactly
09:32the point of emphasis
09:34to the attack
09:34of El Desperado
09:37Desperado and
09:38Connemara
09:38have had great success
09:39as a tag team
09:43and Desperado
09:47last saw
09:48a lot of singles action
09:49in the best
09:51of the Super Junior
09:51two years ago
09:52and now shades
09:53of Toriano
09:54throwing the
09:58corner pad off
10:00and the exposed
10:02turnbuckle
10:02looming on the horizon
10:08but the focus
10:09for Red Shoe's
10:10Uno right now
10:10is checking on
10:11Tomohiro Ishii
10:13and whether or not
10:13he's able to continue
10:19and defenseless
10:20as he gets thrown
10:22spine first
10:22into the exposed
10:23steel
10:28you can see
10:30that junction
10:30in the corner
10:32there is no
10:34there is a sleeve
10:35of rubber padding
10:36that runs down
10:37the entire length
10:38of the ropes
10:39but at the
10:40at the corner
10:42there
10:43there is
10:44nothing but
10:45exposed steel
10:47and it is
10:49incredibly painful
10:50to be thrown
10:51into there
10:58Desperado
10:59not intimidated
11:00at all
11:00by taking on
11:01Tomohiro Ishii
11:02in this matchup
11:09and even
11:10matching Ishii
11:12who has a
11:14proclivity
11:14for trash talking
11:15and now he's
11:17going to send
11:17him in again
11:18but Ishii
11:19absorbs
11:20and comes
11:21forward
11:21my god
11:22what toughness
11:26despite the pain
11:28coursing
11:28through his body
11:29Ishii
11:30just threw
11:31his entire
11:32frame
11:32into Desperado
11:45and now
11:46Ishii
11:46goes to work
11:47the combinations
11:47in the corner
11:48chops
11:50and forms
11:52breaking
11:53Desperado
11:54down
11:54bit by bit
11:55who slumps
11:57further and
11:57further to the
11:58ground
11:58Ishii will
11:59pick him up
12:00and beat him
12:01down to the
12:02mat again
12:08Ishii
12:09laying shots
12:10hits in
12:10repeatedly
12:11the side
12:12of the
12:12head
12:19red shoes
12:20thankfully
12:21able to get
12:22Ishii off
12:23of Desperado
12:24and now
12:26red shoes
12:27is going to
12:27check to see
12:28if Desperado
12:29is able to
12:30continue
12:34Desperado
12:34with his
12:35hands up
12:35covering up
12:36almost as if
12:37to say
12:38enough
12:43German
12:44suplex
12:47and
12:48Desperado
12:49racing to
12:50that top
12:51rope
12:52and now
12:52building some
12:53momentum
12:54trying to
12:54go for the
12:55spear
12:55and Ishii
12:56just plucked
12:56him
12:57Ishii
12:57stopped
12:58the path
12:58of the
12:58spear
12:59but
13:00Desperado
13:00to the
13:01eyes
13:01but just
13:02for a
13:02second
13:05misdirection
13:06to spear
13:07this time
13:07Ishii
13:08could not
13:08stop him
13:09and
13:09numero
13:10dos
13:13his version
13:14of the
13:14strategy
13:14oh but
13:15look at
13:15this
13:16Ishii
13:16with a
13:17counter
13:18and gets
13:19Desperado
13:20in a knee
13:20bar
13:27legs
13:28wrapped up
13:28tight
13:28on Desperado
13:29who
13:30is able
13:32to get
13:32to that
13:32bottom rope
13:33which will
13:33force the
13:34break
13:34from Tomohiro
13:35Ishii
13:44Desperado
13:44got the
13:45win for
13:45his team
13:46last night
13:47in an
13:48eight man
13:48tag
13:50using the
13:51stretch
13:52muffler
13:52that he
13:52calls
13:53numero
13:53dos
13:57and he
13:57tried it
13:58on Ishii
13:58who had
13:59an answer
13:59and now
14:00it's Ishii
14:01who kicks
14:01the knee
14:02of Desperado
14:08Ishii's
14:08not really
14:09a pick
14:10a body
14:11part
14:11guy
14:12he's
14:13more a
14:13smash
14:14and grab
14:14type
14:15of guy
14:15oh how
14:16about
14:16that

14:16though
14:17Desperado
14:17with the

14:19and now
14:20hooking
14:20in numero

14:26and now
14:27Desperado
14:27trying to
14:28trap that
14:28arm
14:29and he's
14:29almost
14:29got it
14:30fully
14:35that's
14:35how he
14:36fully
14:36seats
14:36the
14:36hold
14:37and also
14:37would
14:37prevent

14:39in the
14:39hold
14:40from
14:40getting
