01:00Je vous remercie, Tenzan, Zack Sabre Jr., Sonata, David Finley last night.
01:07But this is the one that matters.
01:10This is for the New Japan Cup.
01:13It's an all or nothing proposition for Will Ospreay.
01:19Second place in the New Japan Cup.
01:22Gets you a pat on the head and nothing more.
01:25But to win the New Japan Cup is one more step towards immortality that Will Ospreay claims he has already
01:34achieved.
01:43It's about the all for one and one for all spirit in the United Empire.
01:48Depop and Krayo Khan followed Will Ospreay to ringside to lend their support to the Commonwealth Kingpin here tonight.
01:55In the beta bin.
02:09Came into this tournament with a shoulder issue.
02:12Suffered a broken nose.
02:14in spectacular victory one week ago.
02:19And I would be shocked if Shingo Takagi comes down with any members of his faction.
02:28The Dragon will more than likely walk alone.
02:33But I don't think, Chris, any athlete has had a tougher road to get to the finals of this tournament
02:39than that man right there.
02:40And he wouldn't want it any other way.
02:43Shingo Takagi in absolute wars all the way through.
02:46All against either New Japan Cup or New Japan Cup USA winners.
02:51But Shingo Takagi with a sword at his hilt, symbolic of that history-making night on June the 5th, 2019,
03:02when he first tasted defeat in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
03:07It was an unbelievable war in 33 minutes and 36 seconds.
03:11And then Shingo Takagi returned the favor at G1 Climax last year.
03:17What will it take the Shingo to beat Will Ospreay here tonight with the New Japan Cup on the line?
03:25And then for history to repeat, to go back to that fated spot in Niogoku Sumo Hall, this time not
03:32for best of the Super Junior contention, but for IWGP World Heavyweight contention.
03:39Both men in their second New Japan Cup.
03:44Each looking for the RBS first tournament victory.
03:49I'll have a look at Shingo.
03:51We saw in the finals of best of Super Juniors, Ospreay turned out with his samurai sword and pointed it
03:57directly at the throat of Shingo.
03:59We said he was here to slay the dragon, but look at Shingo.
04:03He's come with his own weaponry.
04:06And he's ready to prove to Ospreay that he's the best heavyweight in this match.
04:11Oh, man, I've got chills right here at the moment.
04:15Yeah, this is going to be awesome, folks.
04:19So all the work, all the rounds, all the matches, all the picks and predictions, it comes down to this.
04:31And Indianapolis, Indiana, the site currently of one version of March Madness.
04:39But this month of March here in New Japan Pro Wrestling, perhaps the most competitive ever, 30 men in this
04:46tournament.
04:47We're down to two, but there can be only one.
04:51Will it be Shingo Takagi?
04:53Will it be Will Ospreay?
04:55Red Shoes Uno will call for the bell.
04:58It is one fall to a finish.
05:00No time limit.
05:01They could go all night.
05:03He likes to explode out the corner on the bell.
05:06We notice he's got heavy taping over his lower back.
05:10That's the combined damage that he's withstood over this match.
05:15The shortest New Japan Cup final in history was 2011.
05:1914 minutes, 44 seconds.
05:20Yuji Nagata beat Shinsuke Nakamura.
05:22The longest 34-02 in 2018 when Zack Sabre Jr. beat Tanahashi.
05:29I would guess that the longer this goes, the more it favors Will Ospreay simply because of the cumulative damage
05:35and that back of Shingo Takagi.
05:37Well, I don't know about that, Gino, because with the shoulder issue that Will has had, it's caused him to
05:44adjust his strategy.
05:47He shelled the hidden blade and the broken nose obviously could affect his breathing.
05:51I'd be interested in your thoughts.
05:53Well, there's something we haven't spoken about much during this tournament.
05:56It is the fact that Ospreay has increased in mass.
06:00He has gotten bigger.
06:01And what that does is it takes away his cardio as well.
06:04It's a bit easy to fly around and go for 45 minutes when you're 10, 15 kilos lighter.
06:10Shingo's pretty much the same size and weight at the moment.
06:12He is well conditioned to the position and to the size that he is.
06:17Ospreay, this is fairly new to him.
06:18So I don't know how much gas he's got in his tank at this size.
06:23And, you know, again, how has how have they been able to adjust their training schedule as this tournament has
06:30unfolded?
06:31Because Jingo, as Chris mentioned, has been war after war after war while Ospreay dealing with the day to day
06:39of the shoulder issue.
06:40And they're trading haymakers here in the center of the ring.
06:45Oh, immediately going for made in Japan.
06:51Backflip.
06:51Swing and a miss with the enziguri.
06:53And now out of the wheelbarrow.
06:57Ospreay gets quick.
06:58Oscutter, no!
07:00They could have hit it quickly for Shingo.
07:02But Shingo's smart enough to block the Oscutter.
07:05These two men are very aware of each other's styles.
07:09They've been in this type of match before together.
07:11Now as heavyweights.
07:12But they know each other's place.
07:14Someone's going to have to pull something out special to try and get the other one off guard.
07:18Go ahead, Chris.
07:19I think Ospreay was wrestling in these opening minutes like a junior heavyweight.
07:23He's starting this match like the best of the Super Junior Finals.
07:26And it's interesting.
07:27I wonder whether the mental edge, the pressure of this being in the final is making Ospreay second out his
07:34game plan a little bit.
07:35Because he has been more considered in previous matches.
07:39And he comes straight forward into Shingo with strikes now.
07:43And Shingo answering with some headbutts.
07:48Shingo had gone through the best of Super Junior Tournament unbeaten.
07:52In fact, he hadn't tasted defeat since he debuted in the company the previous October.
07:57An unbelievable, unprecedented run of success.
08:00Ospreay.
08:01Oh, wait a minute.
08:02That knows the target.
08:04And that right there, boys, could be part of the difference in this match.
08:09Exactly what I was going to say.
08:10Shingo not afraid to target those weak points of Will Ospreay.
08:14That knows he's going to be super sensitive.
08:19And now, wait a minute.
08:21Will Ospreay run.
08:23And the shoulder.
08:24Another target for Shingo.
08:26He's got two different directions to go.
08:32And I'm telling you, if Ospreay's nose gives way, a broken nose doesn't heal in a week.
08:38As Jeff Cobb and the Great O'Conn look on at ringside.
08:42If that nose starts pouring blood, it is going to affect every aspect of what Will Ospreay wants to do.
08:48Well, it doesn't even have to bleed, Kevin.
08:50Even just a slight knock to it.
08:51Your eyes are watering.
08:53Again, we're talking about how long this match is going to go.
08:55You're not breathing through that nose normally because it's broken.
08:58This is going to affect Will Ospreay a lot.
09:01But again, Shingo's not without injury as well.
09:05Shingo defeating Kazuchika Okada, Hiroki Goto, Kenta and Evil to make it to the finals here.
09:16Ospreay firing.
09:17Not naturally a lefty.
09:19With Shingo targeting the right arm and now the nose.
09:27Again, yeah, look.
09:29We've seen this before.
09:30I throw it back to Kena versus Cactus Jack.
09:34Back in the day where Kena focused on the nose and punched him square in the nose until he broke
09:39it again.
09:40Shingo could do the same thing here.
09:44And now Ospreay set off the ropes but Shingo hangs on.
09:47Drills him beneath the infection.
09:49And the tackle launches Ospreay back into the neutral corner.
09:53I see a very, very confident Shingo Takagi, Chris.
09:57Exactly, showing that combination of heavyweight power with junior heavyweight speed.
10:03It was one of the very first live events that Will Ospreay, a child, as a child, attended.
10:10Paid for a ticket of his own money was to see Shingo Takagi when he was still a Dragon Gate
10:15wrestler competing in the UK.
10:16And he was enchanced by Shingo.
10:19A real inspiration for him.
10:24Wow, look at that.
10:26Turns it into a cutter and now the quick reversal.
10:31And Ospreay, you can see he angled himself perfectly, hitting the ropes exactly where he needed to be to deliver
10:40that blast of a kick.
10:42Got a great perspective with that camera angle.
10:45Now does he go high risk?
10:50It used to be that Ospreay would hit the ropes and hit that valiant pose, but no more.
10:57Instead, now aggressively going after Shingo and responding to Shingo for the barricade assault earlier on.
11:10And across to the other side.
11:12The tape on the back marking the target for Will Ospreay.
11:17Shingo suffering some damage to that back just yesterday against Evil.
11:22Again, with Kota Ibushi sitting at ringside.
11:27That's the goal for these men.
11:28It's not just the beautiful New Japan Cup trophy.
11:31It's the face Kota Ibushi.
11:34Oh my god.
11:35Did you see the way Shingo landed?
11:38He folded the wrong way off that.
11:41A backdrop onto the guardrail by Will Ospreay.
11:44Oh.
11:45Another look.
11:46And you'll see Shingo Takagi is a crash test dummy.
11:53Oh my god.
11:55He almost bounced just on solid steel there.
11:59And I wonder, you know, I thought almost when Will Ospreay was attacking Shingo on the outside,
12:05maybe he'd shoot a look at Kota Ibushi, that little glance.
12:08But he did not.
12:09He was completely focused on Shingo.
12:11And I said this last night, Shingo Takagi was almost looking past Ospreay and talking about the title match with
12:17Ibushi.
12:18Yes.
12:19There was a lot of talk about that on social media as well, that Shingo Takagi might be looking too
12:29far ahead to that man.
12:30And April the 4th.
12:33And Shingo now rolling back in underneath the bottom rope.
12:36But certainly we'll have to deal with the back issues now, courtesy of Will Ospreay.
12:47Oh, Shingo's face then.
12:54That kick ricocheted through his body.
12:56And now Ospreay is going to focus on that back.
13:01Just over that 100 kilogram mark, the delineation for the junior heavyweight division.
13:08But the added leverage pulling on that rope.
13:11Again, Ospreay does not have the rear back with the right arm.
13:16It's more of short drives forward.
13:20But certainly the legs of Ospreay are true.
13:24Cover.
13:25Two.
13:26And a kick out.
13:40Backbreaker.
13:41Oh my goodness.
13:42And then some.
13:43Yeah, Ospreay's picked his target now.
13:46But Shingo's smart enough to keep that shoulder up.
13:49Forcing Ospreay to push his weight down on top of him.
13:57Great job by Red Shoes.
13:59Not assuming the count.
14:00Not assuming that the shoulders are down.
14:01Actually physically looking and seeing.
14:03And that red mark on the chest of Ospreay is his own blood.
14:10Again, not pouring blood like he was against Zack Sabre Jr.
14:14But there is blood in that nose.
14:16That nose is swollen.
14:17He is having to breathe all through his mouth.
14:20But it's all systems go for Ospreay.
14:22He's in firm control right now on Shingo.
14:33This is a different Ospreay that we see.
14:35You know, we were talking about before.
14:37Usually we see some high flying.
14:39Some quick poses.
14:41Some jumping over the ropes.
14:43But he's slowing this down.
14:44He's now changing the tempo.
14:46And I think he goes back to that gas tank.
14:48Maybe being that little bit heavier.
14:50He doesn't have the leverage of being able to jump around in the last 45 minutes.
14:54Now it's about a strict game plan and focusing on that back of Shingo.
14:59And Chris, it's again, it's a smart differentiator with Ospreay.
15:04And a way that he has changed his style since betraying Okada and forming his own faction.
15:11He's been working towards this for a while since he's graduated from the junior heavyweight division into the heavyweight ranks.
15:18But it was really when he tapped into this whole deal of leading the United Empire that he's adopted this
15:27new mentality to his matches and a more psychotic, slow and steady approach.
15:33Well, certainly slow is Shingo right now, unable to get out of the way of the springboard forearm.
15:40The lateral press and a kick out at two.
15:42You saw how labored Shingo was as he was shot across into the neutral corner.
15:48Shingo Takagi.
15:50Gino, when your back is seized, when your back is injured like Shingo's is now, it's a miserable spot to
15:56be in, correct?
15:58Yeah, we sometimes call it a back pump or it's just a tightness in your lower back.
16:03It's hard to run, it's hard to move, it's hard to be flexible, it's hard to dodge out of the
16:07way of strikes.
16:09Shingo inviting.
16:10The lower back in wrestling is really somewhere you don't want to have any kind of injury or soreness.
16:16Shingo inviting more of those.
16:17Oh, yeah.
16:19Yeah, you saw Shingo grab that lower back straightaway and again, this is what I'm saying, he got that slight
16:25offense, but that lower back's going to be a problem.
16:28And can't follow up, there was a couple of occasions yesterday against Evil where Shingo had opportunities to gain victory
16:36but was unable to follow up.
16:38But again, I can't think of another wrestler that has had the run of matches like Shingo has had, starting
16:44at Wrestle Kingdom against Jeff Cobb and then going to the never open weight title match against Tanahashi to now
16:51the four matches that he has had in this tournament.
16:53The grueling pressure cooker that Shingo has been under physically didn't start in this tournament.
17:00It began back in January.
17:02Now the handspring, another blast of a kick.
17:04This time Shingo catches, and can he deliver the tournament?
17:08Yes, he can.
17:11A cop-up DVD, such a wide arsenal for Shingo Takagi.
17:16So many ways, so many things that he can go to to hurt you.
17:21And it wouldn't surprise me if he pulls out some tricks from his old playbook here tonight, as he has
17:27done with Will Ospreay in the past.
17:29Back at Best in Super Juniors, that was when he first used Made in Japan in New Japan.
17:35G1 Climax, that was the first time you used to stay dream in New Japan.
17:38And there's still a lot more in Shingo Takagi's library of moves, or even things we've never even seen yet.
17:45B Priestley, who I have been a critic of, is doing a smart thing right now.
17:49You know, she's buying Will some time.
17:52Putting us up between Will and Shingo.
17:55Shingo's going to have to deal with that.
17:57But again, you're right, it does buy Will that little bit of time, because, I mean, there you go.
18:02That slight distraction, and Will takes advantage.
18:05And now, now B coming over.
18:08Now this is where, oh, and she had better beat a Hasty Retreat.
18:13Oh my God!
18:16Going over and hiding behind Okan and Jeff Cobb, who are simple observers at ringside.
18:27But B Priestley, more than, oh my.
18:32And this is where the New World Osprey's going to take this match.
18:36The table's set up, and Redshoe's trying to escape.
18:39This isn't the way, but I don't think anything's going to change Osprey's mind.
18:43When he saw Osprey use a table, use ladders, use everything available back on January the 30th against Kojima the
18:54same night.
18:55No, wait a minute, wait a minute!
18:59That table looming as an ominous target as each man tries to suplex the other.
19:05And now Osprey leaps over the barricade instead of crashing into the steel.
19:10And now gets forward a minute!
19:14Another D.D.B.
19:18Oh, and it's dead again, face first!
19:21The second time that the nose of Osprey has been bounced off the mat.
19:31Now Shinger's got some ideas.
19:34Boy, nothing good happens out here on the edge of the ring.
19:38Oh, and these go with a table underneath them.
19:41Oh, my God.
19:44And now Osprey, who thankfully for Will, and beat Priestley moving the furniture out of the way.
19:51Osprey used his legs to get back into the ring.
19:55And then catches Shigo.
19:57Oh, and then Will was in.
20:00Avoids disaster there.
20:02Oh, come on.
20:03Now she's just doing the right thing.
20:05Nice one, nice.
20:10This time out of the way.
20:12Shingo with the pass through, and he waits, and he waits, and he catches.
20:19Oh!
20:21Osprey's face bounced off that corner, and here comes Shingo.
20:26Thrust kick from Osprey.
20:28Underneath the clothesline.
20:30Pop-up!
20:31Oh, powerbomb!
20:32On the stack!
20:34Oh, and a kick out.
20:36Look at this, Chris.
20:38That's the move.
20:39The STF are now grinding at the nose.
20:43Is Shingo Takagi as he pulls on that hole.
20:47The back of Shingo's hand.
20:50A painful lever against that broken nose of Will Osprey.
20:56And Osprey, the more he inches forward to get out of the STF, the more pressure on the bridge of
21:02the nose.
21:04And the more pain that Osprey finds himself in.
21:07Shingo gave up the leg to crank on that face more, and now switch into the elbow, the shoulder, rather,
21:12as well.
21:15And now Noshigami.
21:17Noshigami.
21:18Got it!
21:19Face first!
21:21It was on...
21:22Sorry, give it a...
21:23The broken nose suffered on La Mystica from Zach, too!
21:28Zach Sabre Jr. delivering La Mystica in an effort to target the arm.
21:33That was where Osprey broke his nose.
21:35A similar landing there after Noshigami.
21:38Leads to a near fall.
21:40Shingo's back is still not great, but Osprey's in worse shape.
21:44Shingo will normally almost release the arms and drive the legs on Noshigami, but he didn't.
21:50He held on to those arms just so that Osprey's face took all of that impact, and now he's going
21:55for Made in Japan.
22:01Osprey repositions.
22:03Shingo using all the strength to break that phone, Nansen.
22:07Underneath the hook kick.
22:10Back flip.
22:11Step up in Zaguri.
22:13Shingo!
22:14Oh, look at Osprey!
22:15Oh, my God!
22:19Oh, Jesus!
22:23Shingo took an extra step, and Osprey had to be patient.
22:26Stayed coiled and delivered.
22:28A furious lariat.
22:34Is this enough?
22:36Has Osprey done it?
22:37A kick out of two.
22:45We always talk about the G1 Climax Tournament being the Mount Everest of professional wrestling,
22:50the incredible grind.
22:53But this New Japan Cup Tournament, with all that is at stake to its winner,
23:00the physical toll that it has taken on both Will Osprey and Shingo Takagi,
23:05just getting to this point, let alone what they have done to each other now,
23:10in over 15 minutes of physical action.
23:24Oh, oh, catches him.
23:26Osprey went to that kick.
23:27What in the world?
23:28Look at Shiga climbing to the top.
23:30Chris?
23:31Remember Osprey in the G1, he was looking for Stay Dream, but Osprey, fighting out.
23:42Dangerous position for Barthman.
23:49Oh, jeez.
23:53Shingo basically froze it up there with his back seized,
23:57and now Osprey's going to capitalize by any means necessary.
24:02I was concerned that dropkick from Osprey was going to send Shingo over the top.
24:08Oh, my God.
24:10Oh, my God.
24:13Come on, come on, come on, come on, Will.
24:15This has to do it.
24:17Two.
24:19Shingo kicks out.
24:22Osprey with the Spanish Fly from the top of the Shingo.
24:25I thought that would have been enough.
24:28Shingo watching that lower back, but somehow able to kick out.
24:32Another look at the Spanish Fly.
24:38What incredible impact, but somehow Shingo was able to kick out.
24:43But he may not be able to answer too many more.
24:46And it was here in Sendai that the Oscutter led to the Best of Super Junior Tournament in 2016.
24:53Instead, catches out of midair, looking for another Noshigabi.
24:58Shingo!
24:59Oh, ho, ho, ho.
25:01Red popped in for Shingo and Osprey, and it's Friday.
25:05Yukon!
25:06A furious larian of his own from Shingo.
25:12This has been the fastest 20 minutes of my life, gentlemen.
25:26A furious four arms down from Shingo.
25:37A furious four arms down from Shingo.
25:38Oh, that hook kick.
25:41Shingo out on his feet.
25:42Osprey sees it.
25:43C'est parti !
26:13Shingo !
26:21I was hoping we were going to get a replay there, my God !
26:26Asper able to land on his feet and rotate, turn it into the Oz cutter !
26:31Somehow Shingo kicking out !
26:33That's what's at stake !
26:35The New Japan Cup, the beautiful trophy !
26:38Kota Ibushi at ringside, providing commentary !
26:43The winner not only hoists the trophy, but on April the 4th, will face Ibushi for the World Heavyweight Championship
26:52!
26:52Shingo rolling out to the floor !
26:55And now I think Shingo is trying to buy himself some time !
26:59But Osprey won't let him !
27:01Oh !
27:04Wait a minute, wait a minute !
27:05Don't do it Will ! Don't do it !
27:08Oh !
27:08And it delivers the Oz cutter !
27:11What ?
27:12Osprey going up the outside of the turnbuckle !
27:15And catching with the Oz cutter on the outside !
27:19He's got it !
27:21He's got it !
27:21He's got it !
27:21He's got it !
27:21He's got to eat so much damage himself !
27:23He's got it !
27:24He's just risked it all !
27:25To put Shingo out !
27:26But now, he's going to he might be feeling !
28:06À tous les coûts, Will Osprey doit gagner.
28:10Et Will Osprey, comme la terre ou la terre, va le faire.
28:18C'est ça, c'est le tout ou rien moment.
28:22Oh Jesus.
28:25Oh my God.
28:31Can you believe it?
28:32A 4.50 off the top
28:35Threw Shingo
28:37On a table
28:38Another look
28:41Oh my god
28:45Osprey sacrificing himself
28:47To inflict as much damage
28:50As he killed on the Shingar
28:51The table broken
28:52Shingo broken
28:54Osprey could be broken
28:56Give me a hand up
28:58Throw me back in the ring
29:03To throw Osprey back in the ring
29:06Because Shingo's going to be out
29:07He's going to take the count out
29:12And Red Shoes
29:14Over there
29:15Deciding whether or not he needs to even bother
29:17With the 20 count
29:18Should he just call for the bell and declare Osprey the winner
29:21To call for an ambulance
29:23For Shingo Takagi is out
29:28Mere formality
29:29At this point
29:3910 more seconds
29:41And we'll have a new Japan Cup winner
29:42Will Osprey
29:46Shingo trying to wake himself up
29:59Wanting Shingo to get back into the ring
30:02And Shingo taking that motivation from Ibushi
30:05But what about Osprey
30:09Osprey saw him coming to the ring
30:10And took full advantage
30:12One more will do it
30:15Here we go
30:16Shooting star press
30:19Can he follow
30:20Yes he can
30:21The leg is hooked
30:22Red Shoes there too
30:23And Shingo kicks it out
30:32The last five minutes have had a career's worth of action
30:36For Will Osprey
30:37But he still can't put Shingo down
30:55And now could be set up
30:57For Hidden Blade
30:59We've yet to see it
31:00Shingo collapsing
31:04We've yet to see Osprey use Hidden Blade
31:07In this tournament
31:09One of the adjustments that Osprey had to make
31:13Because of his shoulder issue
31:17I think Will Osprey knew
31:19He couldn't get him up
31:20For Stormbreaker
31:21Because Shingo's dead weight
31:24Look
31:26Registries he's asking
31:27Is it over
31:27Registries he's asking
31:29And all if he can defend himself
31:31All Shingo could do
31:33Was just shake his head
31:37Now Will's getting frustrated
31:39Now he's going to have to try
31:40To pick up that dead weight
31:41With Stormbreaker
31:42And it's a hell of an ask
31:44And it's just too much at this point
31:48These two men have battered each other
31:50To a near stalemate
31:54Ringing those Kawada kicks
31:56But Shingo
31:59Is at work in the jacket
32:05Those are the eyes of Shingo
32:07And the fire may not be
32:09Completely extinguished yet
32:24Shingo almost zombie like
32:26Coming forward
32:27As Osprey continues to kick him
32:29Oh wow
32:36He's trying to take Will's head off
32:38Here we go
32:40Pumping bomber
32:40No
32:41Over the shoulders
32:43London's falling
32:44Shingo might just
32:45In a few seconds time
32:47Stormbreaker coming
32:49Perhaps no
32:52Wait a minute
32:52Main Japan
32:53No
32:54Oh
32:55Main Japan
32:57Yes
32:57Oh
33:00One
33:00Two
33:02Oh
33:02He kicked out
33:04Osprey seemed to land
33:06Right on top of his head
33:07From that night in Japan
33:08From Shingo
33:18Jingo Takagi
33:22Literally coming back
33:24From extinction
33:26Red Shoes was moments away
33:28From calling the bell
33:29Less than half a count away
33:31He kicked out
33:32But somehow
33:33Someway
33:34Shingo with the motivation
33:35To get back up
33:37And to continue
33:42Inside out
33:44And now setting him up
33:46For
33:47Last of the dragon
33:48Osprey crucifix
33:50Who
33:50He escapes
33:53Pop up
33:55Wow
33:56Oh wait a minute
33:57Wait a minute
33:57Wait a minute
33:59Oh
34:02My god
34:04Poison runner
34:16Here we go
34:18Puppy go
34:20Oscars
34:21Lions dead
34:22Two
34:23Oh
34:24Oh
34:25Osprey somehow
34:28Able to get a Spanish fly
34:30On to Shingo
34:31After that poison runner
34:34And now
34:35Osprey with a surge
34:36Of adrenaline
34:39Oh
34:40A rolling elbow
34:42Oh
34:43Oh
34:43To the back of the head
34:44Of Shingo
34:45The blind side shot
34:49Oh
34:50It is
34:51Blade
34:51Hidden blade
34:53From Will Osprey
34:57And now
35:01Stormbreaker
35:02Stormbreaker
35:04Stormbreaker
35:04Stormbreaker
35:05Stormbreaker
35:05Two
35:05He
35:07He
35:08He did it
35:08Got it
35:09Will Osprey
35:11Has done it
35:15United Empire
35:17Has done it
35:38And Kota Ibushi
35:43Down at ringside
35:46Just like all of us
35:48The goddamnedest thing
35:50I've ever seen
35:51In my whole life
35:52Was Will Osprey
35:53And Shingo Takagi
36:04Will Osprey
36:05Is the New Japan Cup winner
36:09Will Osprey
36:11Is the number one contender
36:12To the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
36:1930 men began this journey
36:23And now there is only one
36:27And he is Will Osprey
36:32As will Oce
36:34Will Osprey
36:35As will Caldary
36:52Will Osprey
36:52Will Osprey
36:53Will Osprey
36:53Would bow out
36:54After suffering
36:56Will Osprey
36:59refuse to heed the doctor's advice it is not the first time that will osprey has ignored
37:10conventional wisdom it's been his modus operandi throughout his entire career
37:18and it has led him not just to the new japan cup tournament win but the precipice now
37:26of becoming the first to defeat the new world heavyweight champion kota ibushi
37:34and as obnoxious as osprey can be
37:40he might just be the best wrestler
37:46in the entire world and as you said gino this is not just a win for will osprey
37:54the united empire has now cemented the place as one of the top factions in new japan
38:03and it's led by the man right there who is now your new japan cup winner in will osprey
38:11bris what will the historians say about this one they will call a phenomenal tournament an incredible
38:19set let's give full credit of performances for will osprey against an unbelievable opponent in the
38:28final but i can't help but think back to the tokyo dome a couple years ago when osprey and ibushi
38:33met
38:33for the first time and that dark light went on behind the eyes of will osprey he knows he can
38:39beat ibushi
38:40with a tall rotator cuff and a broken nose i told you all i was gonna win the new japan
38:53cup
38:54i think you're all coming now but you won't doubt it me every single one of you doubt it me
39:10the british junior don't get it done with the heavyweights
39:14and like i said the united empire would be a force to reckon with i said i would win the
39:33new japan cup
39:35and two things have happened now so yes there's one more
40:05and no shirking the responsibilities
40:08kota ibushi called out by the new japan cup winner ibushi a former winner of the cup himself
40:16he knows what this means to will osprey
40:30the great okan and jeff cobb will take the trophy retreat to the corners
40:39because osprey wants to stare at his april 4th opponent
40:45he wants to have words with kota ibushi you've been getting a lot of hate recently because of what you've
40:51done
40:52i don't know

43:24I don't know what to say
43:42I don't know what to say
43:57Will Ospreay making a very strong point
44:04That's how much he loves the idea of the World Heavyweight Championship
44:09That he would be willing to demonstrate that with Pete Priestley
44:19And he marches with purpose the New Japan Cup winner
44:25And a shocking end to what has been a remarkable tournament and a remarkable match
44:36And I think the less said about that the better
44:38But obviously we cannot take away
44:42We also need to tip our caps and then some
44:47To Shingo Takagi
44:50Who put forth one of the greatest tournaments ever
44:54And came so close to winning this entire thing
44:58Obviously this crowd is stunned and shocked with what we just saw
45:03But what we do know we're going to get on April the 4th
45:06Is Will Ospreay versus Kota Ibushi Chris
45:11For the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
45:15Two men with a similar mindset in one respect
45:22They really think outside the box athletically
45:25There isn't anything athletically that either man can't do
45:29And certainly hearkening back to a couple of Wrestle Kingdoms ago
45:34Oh wait a second now
45:37We'll hear more from Will Ospreay
45:39Perhaps some insight as to what in the world was going through his mind
45:44Out there just a few moments ago
45:48I'm sure you've got a lot of questions I need answering
45:57I can answer some questions
46:02I love the idea of being the best wrestler in the world
46:10And as much as this trophy means a lot to me
46:13It doesn't make me the best wrestler in the world does it
46:19Being the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
46:24It means you're the best wrestler in the world does it not?
46:30And I love that more than I love anything or anyone
46:35So if I can give an odds cutter to a woman that I love more than anything in the world
46:41A woman that's been in my relationship in my life now for five years
46:47I have a house and I have a family with that girl
46:51But it means nothing to me
46:54The only thing that matters to me
46:56The only thing I love is to be IWGP World Heavyweight Champion
47:04And if I can do that to somebody that I love
47:07Then what the fuck am I gonna do to you?
47:10You ain't God
47:12I'm not the Devil
47:14And I'm no God
47:15What I am is a non-believer
47:17I don't believe in you, Ibushi
47:19I don't believe you're the leader of New Japan Pro Wrestling
47:24I am the Kingpin
47:31And I'm Ryo Goku on the 4th of April
47:37An arena where I've only lost one match in my entire career
47:41I've only lost one match in Ryo Goku
47:45I finally fulfill my destiny
47:48And I take my spot
47:50As IWGP World Heavyweight Champion
48:05You don't leave yet, we gotta do this
48:07Yeah, yeah
48:09Congratulations
48:10True, true, true
48:14Everybody else gets to celebrate
48:16United Empire can celebrate too
48:18Kon-pai, baby
48:19Welcome to the single life as well, boys
48:26Empire's taking over this bitch
48:31Now we're gonna go out
48:33We're gonna celebrate
48:34As only the United Empire can
48:38Let's find the nearest bar
48:40Let's go, boys
48:42United Empire's taking over now
48:47Well, certainly ominous words for Kota Ibushi from Will Ospreay
48:59Gino?
49:00Help me, please
49:00Just in a bit of shock
49:01I don't know what to tell you
49:02I've known Will Ospreay and Bea Priestley personally for a very long time
49:07And
49:08I mean, this is shocking
49:09I don't have words
49:11It's not something that I'd ever expected
49:13But
49:13I guess Ospreay's trying to prove a point
49:16This means more to him than anything in his life
49:19And that's pretty powerful words
49:21Well, if they've
49:23If he's proven anything, Chris
49:25It's that
49:26He's more hateable and obnoxious than ever before
49:31It's almost like he's going through a psychotic break
49:34Backstage there
49:36You know, at one second
49:37Talking about why he did what he did
49:39And then laughing off
49:41And they're going to the bar afterwards
49:42You know, it feels
49:44He's so driven by this idea
49:47Of being that sort of gangland kingpin
49:50That commonwealth kingpin
49:51And he's sort of
49:53Thrown himself into that persona almost
49:56Of being that sort of
49:57Kray Twins-like
49:59Demented psychopath
50:01He'll stop at nothing
50:02To get that
50:03IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
50:05From Kota Ibushi
50:06Well, it certainly is
50:08Is a
50:11It's a mindset of a driven person
50:13But it is the mindset of also
50:15Somebody who
50:16Will probably be alone
50:17For most of their life
50:19Because they will be unfulfilled
50:22Not to psychoanalyze Will Ospreay
50:24I don't have the degree
50:25Nor the time
50:27Again, when you look at
50:28The athlete
50:30Let's just focus on the athlete
50:32The athleticism that we saw
50:35We saw B. Priestley
50:36Come to his aid a couple of times
50:39Gino buying him some time
50:41When he needed it
50:42Moving the table out of the way
50:43When Shingo had
50:45You know
50:47Tremendous damaging designs
50:49For Ospreay
50:50But again
50:52I guess all of that
50:53Means nothing to Will
50:55I think what
50:56For me
50:57Was more of an interesting factor
50:59In that match
51:00Is the ability for Ospreay
51:01To go
51:01From one style
51:03To the other
51:03Very
51:04You know
51:05Without any
51:05Seamlessly is the word
51:06I'm looking for
51:07We didn't see any bumps
51:08In the road
51:09There was a time
51:10Where he was like
51:10Okay, now I'm slow
51:11Now I'm fast
51:12Now I'm high flying
51:13Now I'm a heavyweight
51:14That's very unpredictable
51:16Ibushi is a great wrestler
51:18But
51:18You can pretty much
51:19Pick apart
51:20Ibushi smashes
51:21Move by move
51:22You know what's coming next
51:23As a wrestler
51:24You can kind of see
51:24The plan in the play
51:26Ospreay seems to just be
51:28Flowing like water
51:29At the moment
51:29And that's
51:30Not only difficult
51:31To sort of
51:32Watch
51:32As someone who's
51:34Against him
51:35In a match
51:36But it's dangerous
51:38Because now Ibushi
51:39Has to flip the switch
51:41As well
51:42He has to go
51:43To the next level
51:44And where does it end?
51:45Who stops?
51:46Who keeps trying
51:47To top the other person?
51:48Yeah, it's a zero-sum game
51:50But that switch flip
51:52For Ibushi
51:53Can be a dangerous place
51:55For anyone
51:56In his proximity, Chris
51:58Indeed so
51:59It was the first time
52:01You know, I think
52:02To go back to that
52:03First meeting
52:04In the Tokyo Dome
52:04When we were there
52:06At Wrestle Kingdom
52:07A couple years ago
52:08For the Never Openweight Championship
52:10At the time
52:11The first time
52:11That Will Ospreay
52:12Used the hidden blade
52:13And that was the
52:14First time
52:15That we really saw
52:17A darkness
52:18To Will Ospreay
52:20And Kodo Ibushi
52:21Was knocked out
52:22He had a concussion
52:23He was put on the shelf
52:24For a month
52:25Because of that
52:26And yo
52:28I almost get the feeling
52:30That Will Ospreay
52:31Got a taste
52:32Of what could become
52:34What might be
52:35In that match
52:36And he decided
52:37That he liked it
52:38Evidently
52:39And yo
52:40I think really
52:41You can trace
52:42Everything
52:42From today
52:44All the way back
52:45To a couple years ago
52:46In the Tokyo
52:48Here's the damnedest thing
52:50Of all of this
52:51Is that
52:51Everyone is going to
52:52Remember what he did
52:53To beat Priestly
52:54And they're going to
52:55Forget the incredible
52:56Match that we just saw
52:57Which I think
52:59Is a shame
52:59Both to Will
53:00And to Shingo
53:01And it's an incredibly
53:03Selfish move
53:04From Will Ospreay
53:05To pick that time
53:09And that place
53:09To make that point
53:11You could have
53:12Made your point
53:13With words
53:13I know Ibushi
53:15Knows a little bit
53:16Of English
53:16I've had conversation
53:18With him
53:18He probably understood
53:20What Will was saying
53:22But then for
53:23Him
53:24Ospreay to go
53:25To that length
53:25It just
53:26I think
53:27Takes everything
53:28Away from Ospreay
53:29Any goodwill
53:30That he could have had
53:30With the fans
53:32The fandom
53:32Whomever
53:33Around the world
53:34And not that Ospreay
53:35Cares
53:35And he doesn't care
53:36About my opinion
53:37Either
53:37But he just
53:38Took all of that
53:39He wadded it up
53:40And he threw it
53:41In the bin
53:42What shocked me more
53:43Was Greto Khan
53:44And Jeff Cobb
53:45Stepping in front
53:45And being like
53:46Hey we're okay
53:47With this
53:47We're okay
53:48With whatever
53:48Our leader wants
53:49To do
53:50To prove his point
53:50I don't like that
53:52I don't like
53:52Where the Empire
53:53Is going
53:54They are now
53:55Down a very
53:56Dark path
53:56And it's gonna
53:57Be hard to come back
53:58Yeah
53:59It's tough
54:00To make a U-turn
54:00At this point
54:01In the road
54:03Chris
54:03Obviously
54:04I think now
54:05The focus
54:07For
54:08Sakura Genesis
54:09With the main
54:10Event set
54:11Becomes
54:12The undercard
54:14Other championship
54:15Bouts that could
54:16Be signed
54:17And perhaps
54:18Some future
54:19Dates
54:19On other
54:21Title matches
54:21Again
54:22Sakura Genesis
54:23Would be
54:24Completely loaded
54:25With championship
54:25Battles
54:26If that's the
54:26Direction they
54:27Want to go
54:27When do you
54:28Anticipate
54:30Hearing from
54:31New Japan
54:33Officials
54:33Perhaps a
54:34Press conference
54:35What do
54:36Things look like
54:36In this
54:37Upcoming week
54:38Well very often
