00:00Tropical Depression 9 is set to make landfall along the Gulf Coast Friday night as a hurricane.
00:05Now, right now it's drifting east across the southern Gulf, but we expect it to become Tropical Storm Isaias by
00:09Wednesday night.
00:10Then it turns north and strengthens. It's not completed out of the question to get to Category 3 major hurricane
00:15status.
00:16Now, for the U.S., flooding could be the biggest impact.
00:19We're forecasting 8 to 12 inches of rain across parts of southern Alabama and Mississippi, but could see locally higher
00:24totals, too.
00:25Heavy rain then spreads north into the Ohio Valley and eventually the Carolinas and Virginia were flooding and even mudslides
00:30are possible in the Appalachians.
00:32Strong wind gusts are a concern, too, plus tornadoes before and immediately after landfall.
00:36Now, we could still see some shifts to the exact track and landfall time, so keep checking back with us
00:41as we get closer.
