00:00The next local government election, the next general election, I guarantee you, the participation from the citizenry is going to
00:08be very high because people are already fed up with them.
00:12They have breached almost every single promise. They are disrespecting the citizens. They have caused pain and mayhem and tears
00:20on the citizens of Trinidad Beagle.
00:22And they are only just waiting for any opportunity to just rest political lash on Kamala Basad-Bissessa and her
00:30bunch of thieves.
00:31PNM Chairman Marvin Gonzalez today, as he weighed in on the proposed changes to the Municipal Co-operations Act, the
00:40PNM has labelled the move a gerrymandering of the local government system.
00:44These boundaries are tailored and gerrymandered in a way to allow for the UNC so-called safe seats to end
00:54up in corporations by themselves.
00:57But Trinidad and Tobago, they can move as much municipal corporations as they want.
01:04They could invent as much as they possibly can.
01:07They only have, when it comes to local government, Trinidad as an island to divide.
01:18And therefore, as long as you are a Trinbegonian and you reside in an electoral district in Trinidad,
01:29wherever that local government election is called, you must send the loudest signal to the UNC that you are fed
01:40up with this level of attack on our democracy.
01:45Meantime, Opposition MP Colman Burt is raising concerns over the implications of some of the changes.
01:52Where is the Samuel Lavantel headquarters going to be?
01:56I understand all sorts of things, the transit shed, the transit yard, all the things, are going to be in
02:01Barataria now.
02:03And what about the workers?
02:04If you're a local, if you're a daily paid worker in Samuel Lavantel, by now cut it in two, where
02:13are you going?
02:14Where would daily paid workers go?
02:16How many go into Barataria?
02:17How many go into Samuel Lavantel?
02:20Will Barataria hire new people?
02:22What's going to happen?
02:23And if you are a daily paid worker and, you know, transferred out of Samuel Lavantel into Barataria,
02:28but you find yourself lower on the seniority list in Barataria than you were in Samuel Lavantel,
02:34what's going to happen there?
02:35Where are you getting all the CEOs from?
02:38Where are you getting all the equipment from?
02:40How are you funding 17 corporations instead of 14 when already, under this administration,
02:47all the corporations can do is pay salaries and wages?
02:50They have no money for the development program.
02:53They have no money for infrastructure.
02:54They have no money for equipment.
02:56They have no money for goods and services.
02:58So they can't function.
02:59They have no money for garbage collection.
03:01With 14, they make 17.
03:04And you have not explained how you are going to deal with the logistics of all of this.
