00:00Well, Kemi has already set out a detailed plan to get to 3% on defence by 2030.
00:05That's 3% of our GDP of our economy being spent on the defence budget.
00:09We're paying for that by taking difficult decisions like cutting the welfare budget,
00:13moving money from other areas into defence.
00:15We think this is the number one duty of government to protect the country
00:18and that's why we would prioritise defence and that's how we pay for this new policy.
00:21Well, I mean, we've been very transparent.
00:23It does fill the hole to get to 3%.
00:253% is about an extra £10 billion a year, which is a lot of money.
00:29For example, we've shown cuts of £8 billion to welfare by restoring the two-child benefit cap,
00:34by reforming housing benefit, but also other changes to motability
00:37by moving more of the government's research budget into defence.
00:40So, these are very specific, costed changes, way more detail than anyone else has come out with,
00:44and it means we now have the ability to show what we would do to protect the country.
