00:00Let's check in with Rochelle for more tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thanks, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:06I know your weekend was a wet one, but I hope it was also an enjoyable one.
00:11And speaking of wet conditions, let's talk about what we got today.
00:15Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms south of Tobago, east of Trinidad,
00:21drifted westward towards the country.
00:24Cloudy skies eventually spread across both islands,
00:27with isolated thunderstorms affecting south, central and southwestern Trinidad,
00:32as well as the east-west corridor, producing heavy rainfall and occasional lightning.
00:38This activity was associated with a slow-moving tropical wave.
00:43Now, this eventually led to a yellow-level adverse weather alert,
00:47which was in effect from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today,
00:51mainly for the western half of Trinidad.
00:53Motorists and residents in flood- and landslide-prone areas were advised to remain alert
00:59and exercise caution.
01:01The alert has since been discontinued.
01:04Now, flooding was reported in Claxton Bay, Freeport, and Chase Village,
01:08much of the central areas.
01:09Now, let's see what tonight will bring.
01:12Generally settled conditions that will likely be interrupted at times by showers over a few areas,
01:18with minimum temperatures at 26 degrees in Trinidad and 27 in Tobago.
01:23Now, thunderstorms activity may occur, but chances are low to medium.
01:28And for tomorrow, we're looking at a mix of sunshine and partly cloudy swells,
01:32with a few brief showers possible from time to time across some areas.
01:37So, while we'll have plenty of sunshine around,
01:40those quick showers could still make an appearance.
01:43Daytime temperatures will reach up to 34 degrees in Trinidad and 33 in Tobago.
01:49And it looks like there's more heat underway for the next two days.
01:53With daytime temperatures reaching 34 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago
01:58for both Wednesday and Thursday,
02:00so the Met Office says expect generally hot and sunny conditions,
02:04although there could be a few cloudy swells and some passing showers.
02:09So, take note of that.
02:10Now, for my runners looking to beat the heat,
02:13here are your sunrise and sunset times in Trinidad.
02:16Sunrise is at 554 and 551 in Tobago,
02:19and sunset at 553 in Trinidad and 550 in Tobago.

02:32and below 1 metre, choppy near showers in sheltered areas.
