00:00It could scarcely get more high profile than this.
00:03Again, not to be missed, featuring two top sides
00:06who'll do everything in their power to claim victory.
00:09Are you ready for a duel of heavyweights?
00:20Well, nights like these are just what you hope for as a spectator.
00:24A warm welcome.
00:25My name is Derek Ray, positioned here on the commentary gantry
00:28and sitting next to me, ready to give you all the analysis,
00:31is Stuart Robson.
00:33And very much looking forward to bringing you action from Serie A.
00:36How do you see this one going?
00:38Yes, thanks as always.
00:39We've got two good teams here, so I'm anticipating a really good game.
00:43The atmosphere is electric inside the stadium before kick-off
00:45and hopefully we're not disappointed.
00:59What do you see this one going?
01:14The atmosphere is electric inside the stadium.
01:22The atmosphere is electric inside the stadium.
01:35And here's the Roma starting 11.
01:38Mario Almoso starts alongside Gianluca Mancini in central defence.
01:42And the striker today is Doniel Marlin.
02:22Let's have a look at the initial 11 for the visitors.
02:26Well, they're going to play with two wingers in this 4-3-3 formation.
02:30So they need to switch the ball quickly and get crosses into the box.
02:34But they also need to get at least two midfield players making runs into the penalty area.
02:38That's a must.
02:51So the first half begins.
02:53Let's see what unfolds.
03:02Davide Fratesi.
03:05A really good pass.
03:08Hook-crossed it in here.
03:11Just the challenge that was required.
03:20Brian Tristante.
03:26Oh, good-looking run.
03:27Well, it's not really about who individually gets the defensive glory.
03:32Never really close to the goal.
03:33And it will be a goal kick.
03:35field running.
03:37Let's see what happened.
03:39The goal is going to be a challenge that was needed.
03:42Everything in corner is going to be a goal.
03:42No!
03:49No!
04:01Mancini, Brian Tristante, attacking with Viga, so a goal kick here,
04:37and Roma with the ball once more.
04:44Useful pass, it could bamboozle them.
04:48And they couldn't do anything with that particular cross.
04:57And froxing the defender.
05:02Throw in then to Roma.
05:11Rimbury had a good feel that one.
05:14.
05:33Brian Tristante, really good challenge.
05:41Well, that's really strong play to keep hold of the ball.
05:44Sees a pass.
05:49Keeper did his job to begin with.
05:52Managed to get it out of there.
05:53Well, that's how to clear the danger.
05:56Good piece of defending there.
05:58Romar recovering possession well.
06:04Andrea Pinamonti.
06:07Good idea.
06:13Oh, it just had to be a goal.
06:23Plenty of support here.
06:29And it's going to be a free kick.
06:39Tremendous vision.
06:41Good.
06:42Target's available.
06:43Cross comes in.
06:44Not messing around with that clearance.
06:50Showing good defensive judgment.
06:57Oh, great play.
06:59Chance to construct maybe.
07:03And they'll get ready for the throw in.
07:11Well, the ball lost here.
07:13It's such a poor bit of play.
07:20Well, the intention was admirable, but just a bit too much on it in the end.
07:24And that'll be a throw in.
07:33That's a good eye for a pass.
07:38And followed by the post.
07:41Same play away.
07:44Well, they're certainly getting closer.
07:45You just sense that the goal is coming.
07:47They're playing so well at the moment.
07:55Quite happy to sit deep, but that can have its risks.
08:04Strong but fair tackle.
08:13That's how to pick a pass.
08:14Great timing.
08:22And a chance for the lead.
08:24And there it is.
08:25The opening goal.
08:261-0.
08:27And they'll feel they deserve it.
08:41Well, here it is again.
08:43The through ball is absolutely imperfect.
08:45And there's certainly no doubt about the finish.
08:47He really hits it with power and accuracy.
08:49Nothing the keeper can do about that.
09:21The match has restarted.
09:231-0 here.
09:24The match has restarted.
09:241-0 here.
09:25The match has restarted.
09:261-0, here.
09:271-0, here.
09:291-0, here.
09:322-0, here.
09:342-0.
09:362-0, here.
09:374-0, here.
09:46And the throw in.
09:474-0, here.
09:482-0, here.
09:502-0, here.
09:535-0, here.
09:56Well, a disappointing throw there.
10:07Taylor.
10:09That's everybody's.
10:11An inching towards half-time with Roma in front.
10:14What have you made of the performance?
10:16Well, it's been a tight game so far.
10:18But it's just had that little bit more...
10:19Oh, wait a minute. Look what's happening.
10:21A goal!
10:22Three of excitement.
10:24A back and forth type of game.
10:26Now they're out.
10:31Well, here's the replay,
10:33and he shows great awareness to play this blue ball.
10:35And then through and goal, he just goes for power
10:37and smashes it past the feedback.
10:39There's no stopping that.
10:41What a great finish.
11:05So back underway, following the equalizer.
11:08And the number 22, Cancellieri.
11:17And a tidy challenge.
11:24Ndika.
11:27Here's Cristante.
11:31It's with Ndika.
11:33The referee has instructed the fourth official
11:36to put two minutes on the board.
11:39Shooting.
11:41Really well hit, but just too much height on it.
12:05And with that, the first half draws to a close.
12:08And with that, the first half draws to a close.
12:13They'll be pretty happy with this man's display so far.
12:16Well, that's exactly what his team needed,
12:18because they weren't at their best in the first half.
12:20And once again, it shows what a key player he is.
12:23Can they build on that in the second 45?
12:40And away they go again, into the second half.
12:52Just about the perfect pass.
12:54They could be in.
12:56Just wasn't going to give that form away.
12:59Well, sadly, they just couldn't keep possession.
13:03And he has options available.
13:08And that just had to stop an attack.
13:15Cancini.
13:31Very alert defending to cut off the supply.
13:38Matteo Cancelieri.
13:43Useful position they're in.
13:46And that's the end of that attack.
13:49They got everything right there.
13:54Dybala.
14:02Effective challenge.
14:05Oh, good looking run.
14:12Oh, it's loose.
14:16Notability's welcome to counter.
14:20Brilliant piece of skill.
14:23So a throw in here.
14:26That's what it looks like.
14:27Oh, god.
14:29Oh, god.
14:46Oh, god.
14:47Oh, god.
14:51Oh, god.
14:51Fedraza.
14:52Oh, god.
14:56and they've dissected it
14:58well this could really help the cause
15:04yes Tristante
15:05and drifting in
15:07oh and with a chance
15:08and a goal it is
15:11to put them in front again
15:13no less than they deserve
15:26well here we can see it again
15:28it's all about the pace of the passing
15:30one touch, slip movement
15:31and then Diwala finishes it with so much quality
15:34just look how much power he hits this with
15:36it's a top class goal
15:50so the ball is rolling again
15:522-1 the score
15:53what's going to happen next
15:59that's a good looking ball
16:02this could level it
16:04oh but the keeper with an important save
16:06how important is that
16:08well he should score from there
16:09that's a wasted opportunity
16:11he should beat the keeper
16:12from that sort of distance
16:17Diwala
16:19and carrying an extra bit
16:20of attacking intensity
16:29good timing promising
16:30but they got nothing out of it
16:34now a decent position
16:36well breaking at pace
16:38is always a possibility
16:41and very nicely positioned
16:43to win it back
16:43yeah that's good positioning
16:45and excellent reading of the situation
16:54they've dropped a bit deep haven't they
16:57they're putting so much effort into winning back possession
17:08and support available
17:11and that will be offside
17:14and the manager clearly feels
17:17because they need a bit of extra attacking fight
17:19but there's still enough time to have an impact on this game
17:21and that's what he'll be hoping to do
17:23and that's the conclusion
17:25now counter attacking possibilities
17:50no danger here
17:54well quite simply that is catching practice
18:18well I'm surprised by that decision to be honest
18:40a chance to extend the lead
18:42a sizeable cushion now
18:44a two goal lead in this massive game
18:48and in a great position to go on and win it
19:00well he gambled and got it wrong
19:02made it too easy for the striker there
19:21so the ball is moving again
19:23we've been treated to four goals
19:253-1 the score
19:30Zakani
19:30and it's played into the centre
19:33and the referee blows the whistle
19:35it is a free kick
19:38well straight into the meat of the penalty area
19:41appear to be in two minds
19:44and a good take under Dures there
19:52textbook example of how to cut it out
20:00and collected tidily
20:02he had plenty to think about
20:06he bala
20:13plenty of room to roam out wide
20:18determined defending
20:23could be dangerous
20:32nothing comes on the attack
20:33when all is said and done
20:34they're much harder to break down
20:36in those areas aren't they
20:46and the referee has instructed the fourth official to put two minutes on the board
21:04And away like a greyhound there
21:10How about the cross
21:14Oh this looks useful
21:15And the decision is one of offside here
21:21And there it is, the final whistle
21:23The home fans are going to be happy with this result
21:27Well fairly comfortable in the end wasn't it
21:29Thought they controlled the middle of the park well
21:32Going forward there's some really nice incisive play too
21:35It's a good result for them
21:40His performance in this particular game
21:42Will have impressed many people Stuart
21:44Well I have to say that was impressive
21:47Not just his goals but his all round play
21:49He was excellent
21:59We are
22:00Thank you
22:00God bless
