Watch a crochet pot holder take shape, one stitch at a time! 🧶 This handmade project turns yarn into a charming kitchen accessory, showing how simple materials can become something beautiful through crochet.
Follow the process as the stitches build and the pot holder comes together. Whether you enjoy crocheting yourself or simply love watching handmade creations, there’s something satisfying about seeing a project grow from the first stitches to the finished piece.
A crochet pot holder offers plenty of inspiration for choosing colors and adding a personal touch to your kitchen. For use with hot cookware, choose suitable heat-resistant materials and a thick, tightly stitched construction; avoid acrylic yarn, which can melt.
What color would you choose for your own crochet pot holder? Tell me in the comments! Like this video, subscribe for more creative projects, and share it with someone who loves crochet and handmade crafts.

00:10Hello everyone. Welcome again to another Trish Trish E tutorial. So today I'm just going to show you how to
00:20crochet.
00:23It's really simple. It's easy. It's not that hard to do. And I'm going to show you how to make
00:33the loops. But I just want to say if you like my tutorial, please remember to leave, share, subscribe, hit
00:45that bell so that you don't miss anything. Okay?
00:49Okay. All right. So let's go. So now I have my yarn. You're going to need yarn. You're going to
01:00need a needle. I recommend getting a K-size needle because the K is a cool size to start off
01:08with. But this is the crochet needle that I will be using. And scissors just to cut. Okay?
01:15Okay? I'm going to show you how to make a potholder. We're going to crochet a potholder. So you're going
01:23to take some yarn like this and you're going to wrap it around your finger. I'm going to do it
01:31two times.
01:32This string is hanging. And remember, we're going to be working with the longer string. So I'm going to unravel
01:37a little bit more. Okay?
01:40So you're going to wrap it around your hand like that. And then you're going to take this piece and
01:49you're going to bring it under this one. So you're going to bring it under and you're going to pull
01:56it and then you're going to let it go.
01:57And it should look like a pretzel. See? It's going to look like a pretzel. Then you just pull it
02:04closed. And then after you pull it closed, you're going to pull the string to the size of the needle.
02:11And then we'll get started. Okay? But I'm going to show you one more time. Okay? And then you just
02:19pull it right out. See?
02:20So let's start again. So this side is going to stay over there. You're going to work with the longer
02:28piece of this string, the yarn. And you're going to yarn around your two fingers just like that. And then
02:37you're going to do a second yarn over.
02:40Then you're going to take this piece and you're going to bring it underneath here. So this piece is going
02:47to go underneath just like that. And you pull it through and you let this go. And you have that
02:55pretzel again. It's going to look like that and then you're going to pull it closed like that. Okay?
03:02Then you're just going to fit it to your... And you're just going to fit it to the... You're going
03:16to fit it to this needle crochet needle. Okay? So now here we go. So how I hold it is
03:25weird, but once you start to practice, you will learn how to hold it your way.
03:31Okay? But let's get started. Let's do this. So I hold this piece here. I hold it here like this.
03:42And I'm going to yarn over once like this and you're going to pull it through. See? Yarn over once
03:51and you're going to pull it through that second loop. See? Yarn over. Pull it through.
04:00I really want you to see. Yarn over. Pull it through. Yarn over. Pull it through. Notice how my hand
04:12isn't holding the needle. I'm not holding. Notice how my two hands are working. This hand is holding this part.
04:24This hand is holding this part. Okay?
04:26But that's how I do it. So I'm going to do it a few more times slow just to show
04:31you. We're going to make a pot holder. A small one. Not a big giant one. We'll make a small
04:39pot holder.
04:40So you just keep doing that. So now I'm going to go a little faster. Okay? To get to where
04:47we got to go. Okay?
04:51There we go. So a little more. Okay? So now here we go. I'm going to stop here. That's like
04:59a good size. Now what you're going to do is you're going to take the needle and you're going to
05:09go through the next hole. Not the first one.
05:12But go through the second hole that you see. Pull it through. So now you have two. Then you're going
05:21to yarn over. Now you have three. Once you yarn over you have three. Then you're going to pull it
05:27through that second one. Like that. Okay?
05:30And then you're going to yarn over again. And then you're going to pull it through both of them. And
05:37there you go. That's how we start our second row. Okay? So again, you're going to pull it through the
05:45next loop. Here's the next loop. Put it through the next loop. Yarn over. You're going to pull it through
05:54that second loop.
05:55Now you're going to pull it through. Now you're going to pull it through. Now you're going to pull it
06:01through all two. See now how it's getting thicker. And you're going to do it again. Same thing. Go through
06:09the next hole. Yarn over. Pull it through the first one. Yarn over. Now you're going to pull it through
06:18two. Okay? Again. Go through that very next hole.
06:25Yarn over. Yarn over. See each time you do it. First you're going to start off with two. Right? Then
06:33when you yarn over you have three. But you're bringing the first string through the second string. Just like that.
06:40And then you yarn over. And now you bring that first string through both of them. Just like that. Okay?
06:48So now I'm going to move a little faster. Okay?
06:54And this is how we're going to do this second row. Okay?
07:02And then I'm not that fast. I see some people like would have been finished already. Some people work really
07:13fast. I don't work that fast. But it's good enough. Okay?
07:19It's all in how you hold the needle. Also. I think the way I hold it. It's okay. It works.
07:27But you got to find a way to make it work for you. Okay?
07:33This is how I made it work for me. I mean I practiced. And I practiced. And I practiced. And
07:39I practiced. Until I got good at it.
07:41So it does take a lot of practicing. Okay? Lots of practicing. I'm going all the way to the end.
07:57Okay?
07:58This is the last one. Now I'm on the last one. Right?
08:05Now what we do is we flip it over. Just like this. See? Now it's flipped.
08:14So we flip. So now we're going to do that same thing that we did.
08:20You flip it over. And you do the same thing.
08:25You just go through the first one. Go through. We're going to stay going through the first one.
08:33So you're going to go through the first hole. You see. Okay? You got two.
08:40Now when you yarn over. Then you have three. Okay?
08:45Now I got two again. Now I'm going to yarn over.
08:49Now I have three. And you go through both.
08:53And you're going to do the same thing. Go through the next hole.
08:57Okay?
09:00And then you're going to keep. It's just going to repeat itself.
09:04Go through. I got two.
09:07Now when I yarn over. I have three. I pull the first yarn through the second one.
09:13Pull. Okay? Now I have two.
09:16Now I yarn over again.
09:17And I'll pull it through both. Okay?
09:21So you just have to. One more time.
09:24You put the needle through.
09:26And I have two.
09:28Uh. Rows.
09:29Yarn over. That makes three.
09:31You pull that first row through the second one.
09:35Okay?
09:36Yarn over.
09:38And you yarn over again.
09:40And then you pull it through both.
09:43Now I'm going to go faster guys.
09:46Okay?
09:48So basically that's how you do it.
09:51And how to keep it straight.
09:52Just keep going through that first hole.
09:56Because you want it to stay nice and neat.
10:00Okay?
10:02You don't want it to come out sloppy.
10:04But if you are not as good as me yet.
10:11You just keep practicing.
10:13Because practice will make progress.
10:16And progress will make perfect.
10:20Eventually yours is going to look like mine's.
10:24Trust me.
10:26When I first started doing this years ago.
10:29Man oh man oh man.
10:31Man oh it used to look horrible.
10:36But again you got to keep at it.
10:39You have to practice.
10:41You have to practice.
10:42If you don't practice.
10:44It's you know not going to look like anything.
10:48Okay?
10:48And again flip over.
10:50Now if you notice this string is here.
10:53First it was there.
10:54You flip it over.
10:56You don't stay on this side.
10:57Now you flip it over to make sure you stay on that right side.
11:02See where my needle is here.
11:04Here.
11:04Or you flip it over.
11:06And then you start that same process again.
11:10Okay?
11:12And then pull out some yarn.
11:17Alright.
11:19Here we go.
11:23The same process again.
11:25You just start it over.
11:27Again.
11:28Start from the very first hole.
11:30To keep it straight.
11:33Okay?
11:35So I'm going to put it through.
11:37The second hole.
11:38First hole.
11:39Yarn over.
11:41Pull it through that second one.
11:43Now you got two.
11:44You yarn over.
11:45Now you pull it through both.
11:48Push it in.
11:50You yarn over.
11:51Pull it through the second one.
11:53Now you got two.
11:54Yarn over.
11:56Pull it through both.
11:59Now you push the needle in.
12:02The hole.
12:03You got two.
12:04Now you got three.
12:05Push the first one through the second one.
12:07And you yarn over.
12:09And you push the first one through both.
12:12Okay?
12:12Now I'm going to go faster again guys.
12:16Get it done.
12:18And this is going to be a cool little potholder.
12:24I want it to be a cool square.
12:28So I'm going to continue to work on it.
12:34Okay?
12:35Okay?
13:11So it looks like that.
13:13So I'm going to go work on it.
13:16And then I'm going to come back and show you it.
13:19Okay?
13:23So welcome back.
13:24I'm almost done.
13:27So remember what you always want to do is when you start from that bottom.
13:32You want to go through that first hole.
13:35Okay?
13:35But what I'm doing is let me show you.
13:40Remember you just go through that hole.
13:44Yarn over.
13:45You pull it through the second one.
13:46You got two.
13:47Yarn over again.
13:49And you pull it through both.
13:50Okay?
13:51One more time.
13:53You put it through the hole.
13:55Yarn over.
13:56You pull that one through the second.
13:59Yarn over.
14:00You pull it through both.
14:02Again.
14:03Put the needle through the hole.
14:06Yarn over.
14:07Pull the first through the second.
14:09Yarn over again.
14:11Pull it through both.
14:13Okay?
14:14So now I'm about to finish it off.
14:20We're about to finish it off.
14:23Okay?
14:27All right.
14:31There we go.
14:33We're finishing it off.
14:36All right.
14:38So now what I'm going to do
14:42is I'm going to take this string
14:45and I'm going to cut it.
14:48Now we cut it.
14:51So we just leave some off.
14:55Okay?
14:56And now
14:58got a cute little pile holder.
15:01See how that
15:02it's a really
15:03it's a nice
15:04square.
15:06Try to make it
15:06straight.
15:08If you do what I say
15:09your thing
15:11will stay
15:12nice
15:14and
15:15straight.
15:16Okay?
15:17You want it to stay
15:17nice and straight
15:18is the key.
15:19So now we have to
15:22close this.
15:23So what I'm going to do
15:24is I'm going to use
15:26this needle
15:27to pull this through
15:30and
15:32I'm going to
15:33make a knot.
15:35Okay?
15:35So use this
15:37and just pull it through
15:39like this.
15:41Okay?
15:43We'll pull this one through
15:44like this
15:45and then you just
15:47come through here
15:48and you make a knot.
15:51Just like that.
15:53That's it.
15:55Because this one
15:56is already knotted
15:57and knotted.
15:58Now
15:59to have it
16:00to keep it neat
16:01or you do
16:05you can either
16:06cut it off
16:07or you can blend it
16:08through the rest
16:09like this.
16:11you just take
16:12your needle
16:15and you push
16:16this through
16:17like this.
16:19That's what
16:19I usually do.
16:21Push it through
16:22a hole
16:24pull it like this
16:25and
16:26just make it
16:28blend in.
16:29that way
16:30you don't know
16:31where you
16:33started.
16:35It's so cool.
16:39Just do it
16:40just like that.
16:42Or they have
16:43the needles
16:44for it
16:45that you can
16:46use the needles
16:47and the needles
16:48like sewing
16:49and you can
16:50just pull it
16:51right through
16:51but either
16:52one is good.
16:54See
16:54how now
16:55you don't see
16:56where I started.
16:57okay
16:59that's what
17:01that's for
17:01okay
17:04so
17:07sorry
17:07my
17:08table
17:09has been
17:09acting up
17:10falling
17:11so let's just
17:12finish
17:12pulling this
17:13through
17:15just gonna
17:16finish
17:18just
17:19pull it
17:20through
17:20just like
17:22that
17:27keep
17:28pulling it
17:28through
17:29till you
17:29just
17:29don't see
17:31the yarn
17:31anymore
17:33okay
17:39just like
17:40that
17:42and then
17:43what you
17:43end up
17:44doing
17:44is
17:45you just
17:45end up
17:46cutting
17:47the rest
17:47just cut
17:49it off
17:52here we go
17:53I gotta
17:53do all
17:54of them
17:56okay
17:59successfully
18:01and we'll
18:02pull it
18:02through the last
18:03one
18:07just like
18:08that
18:08and there
18:09you go
18:10you see
18:10how it
18:11blends
18:12and nicely
18:13and then
18:15basically
18:16just to make
18:17it bleed
18:18just cut
18:19that off
18:19just like
18:21that
18:21see

18:27other side
18:30let's do

18:46and it's
18:47nice
18:47it's
18:48straight
18:48it's
18:49even
18:49although
