00:00So let's talk about what we saw last night, because you and I, I thought yesterday, did a pretty good
00:06job of establishing the fact that neither of us had the Browns off to a 3-1 start on our
00:15bingo cards here.
00:16And yet, that's where we are right now.
00:20And I made this comment earlier on social media, and I want to get your thoughts, because to me, what
00:27I'm seeing, I saw two things last night.
00:29Number one, I saw the Pittsburgh Steelers, I couldn't tell who the coach was, who the player, when you got
00:37two guys with gray beards out on the field at the same time, makes it very difficult if you want
00:43me to buy that one of them's your actual quarterback, and the other one is the coach.
00:48But the Steelers have gotten very old and very quick.
00:53The Browns are very young, very inexperienced, but in no sport, Craig, professionally that I know, does coaching matter more
01:04than in the NFL?
01:05We've already established, you and I, that Major League Baseball, they're order takers.
01:10Yes, what does Claude say we should play tonight?
01:12And they write that down.
01:14We already know that, you and I.
01:16The NHL doesn't mean anything.
01:19NBA, it's a Stars League.
01:21Nobody cares about the coach.
01:23I can't name a single professional sport where coaching matters more.
01:28Case in point, the job that Todd Munkin is doing with the Browns right now, he argued with the entire
01:36population of Earth when he was like,
01:38Deshaun Watson's our quarterback, guys.
01:40Like, I don't know what you're, what do you think is going on here?
01:43And we all yelled and screamed, and here we are, 3-1 on the season.
01:48And Deshaun Watson looks about as capable as any starting quarterback we've seen in the NFL this year.
01:55That, to me, is all about coaching.
01:57You get young guys that want to play that can be coached, and I think you get a 3-1
02:02Browns team, and I think that's what we're seeing.
02:05Yeah, look, I'm stunned with the record.
02:09I mean, no one could have predicted it, and it just sort of tells you that, you know, not to
02:15write off, you know, historical-type players, you know, great players.
02:19Because say what you want about Watson, he's playing like that guy again, and week by week, he's starting to
02:25look better and better and better.
02:28And, you know, it reminds me a little of when he was with Houston.
02:31He's using Denzel Boston on the outside.
02:33He's got Fannin.
02:35He's using him like crazy.
02:36He scored a touchdown again last night.
02:38They ran a little bit better yesterday, and they played decent defense.
02:41And also, by the way, in a game that's 27-24, it's like, who do you indict?
02:46It was just a very well-played game.
02:48That's it.
02:49You know, Pittsburgh, you know, Rodgers missed a throw at the end of the game.
02:52Yes, that's true.
02:52Yes, they were fighting.
02:53Yes, that's true.
02:54But if they played that game 10 times, I think, you know, Pittsburgh wins five, and Cleveland ends up winning
02:59five.
02:59It was just a well-played game.
03:00I know Pittsburgh had to come back to, you know, even get it in that spot.
03:04But, yeah, look, we threw up their schedule yesterday, and I'm looking at it like, wait a second.
03:10Is Cleveland going to be 6-1?
03:11It is sort of shocking.
03:13It's shocking to see Stefanski bail.
03:15You know, Stefanski is another coach that is an educated coach that's been around a long time, and he punted
03:22Deshaun Watson.
03:23So what did Todd Munkin see in Watson that Stefanski did not is the bigger question here, because he, as
03:30you said, appears to be a really good coach and has harnessed whatever Watson still has left to make him
03:37into the quarterback that he's playing right now.
03:40So we cannot rule out them beating the Jets.
03:43We cannot rule out them beating the Ravens.
03:45We cannot rule out anything at this point.
03:48Now, I am not running to any window to go over 7-1⁄2, because any time I see games like
03:54last night, it tells me once again, Joe, that if you play that game 10 times, you're losing five.
04:00So now, all of a sudden, the Browns are not the best team, or they're not a great team in
04:03the NFL.
04:04They were fortunate to win by a couple of points, which is what the oddsmakers told us kind of fell
04:09in line right with the game.
04:11But if you're sitting on a 4-1⁄2 win total with the Browns right now, you're feeling great.
04:17I mean, come on.
04:18If you got an alt total at 5 or 5-1⁄2, you're feeling great, too.
04:24But I'm not going to go overboard with Cleveland, because they still have a lot of holes.
04:29You never know if Watson turns back into a pumpkin, and you also never know what's going to happen with
04:35him.
04:35It's been a struggle for him on and off the field the last couple of years.
04:40But do I like what I see?
04:41Yes, of course, Joe.
04:42It's been – is it fair to say that they're like the story of the season right now in the
04:48NFL?
04:48Probably so.
