00:00We are getting ready for some football here tonight.
00:03In fact, should be a fun one, a little AFC North battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers
00:09and the suddenly surging, can't believe this, Cleveland Browns that are certainly getting
00:18it done here early on in the season as they sit two and one.
00:22This would be a big win for them at home in front of the home crowd, primetime game.
00:28And I'm just shocked, Craig, going over the trends with these two teams.
00:36Now, granted, much of this was for Tomlin and Stefanski, but Cleveland has dominated them
00:41in short weeks, primetime games, Thursday night at in Cleveland.
00:47I mean, anybody that's followed the AFC North, you without a doubt, it always felt like at
00:53the end of the year, it came down to week 16, 17, and Steelers got to beat the Browns,
00:59and they never did.
01:00Like, they never, they just never did.
01:02Now, granted, that was Miles Garrett, that was Stefanski, but I don't know that this is
01:09a short week.
01:11Is Mike McCarthy the guy that I want to count on turning it around?
01:15Now, here's what always happened to me with Tomlin.
01:18Like, he would lose this game that he was supposed to win against the Browns, and then the next
01:24week was when you absolutely took out a second mortgage to back Pittsburgh because the market
01:30would go off tilt with them, and then they'd come back and destroy whoever it was.
01:35Pittsburgh has always had a problem with the teams they were supposed to beat.
01:40They're supposed to win this one here tonight.
01:42Does it change with McCarthy here from Tomlin, I'm wondering?
01:46His record on short weeks is like the best in the NFL or something like that.
01:51McCarthy.
01:51I don't know why that is.
01:52Different, right?
01:53Yeah, me neither.
01:54He's got a fantastic record there.
01:56And look, I really don't know, but that's pretty much my assessment of it as well.
02:02I think in this division, the danger zone for betting this division is always the team
02:11that's getting a lot of points in a game when Cincinnati plays Baltimore or Baltimore plays
02:16Cleveland, Pittsburgh plays Cincinnati.
02:18Take the points every time, and you'll probably win more than you lose.
02:22The problem with this game tonight is there's no points involved in the game, so it's harder.
02:26You've got to just pick the winner here.
02:28And the other thing, too, show that schedule again, guys, for Cleveland for a minute because
02:31the one thing that's a little scary here, if you really think about it, guys, if you
02:36could show me that schedule, is Cleveland.
02:39It's the Browns.
02:40If they were to win tonight, okay, which is not impossible, they would go to three and
02:47one, and then they play the Jets, and a win there is not impossible.
02:52Like, that is another possible win.
02:54They could be four and one.
02:55And then they play Baltimore.
02:58Now, let me tell you something about Baltimore.
03:01Cleveland, mark it down now, is going to win one of those two games against Baltimore because
03:05they do every year.
03:07Absolutely correct.
03:07Every single year, the Browns beat the Ravens.
03:10I don't know when it's going to be, this one or the next one, but they always do.
03:14And then if you noticed after that, they play Tennessee.
03:16Is it possible that Cleveland's going to be six and one, Joe?
03:20Six and one after the first seven games?
03:22I don't think so.
03:23I think that this is all fool's gold, and they fall back to earth a little bit.
03:27But the truth is, is the trade that they made, getting verse for Garrett, is working
03:34out more for Cleveland than it is for the Rams right now.
03:37It's just a fact.
03:41Listen, it's amazing to me how much coaching means.
03:44Coaching means nothing in the NBA.
03:47Craig's already told you it means nothing in Major League Baseball because it's all about
03:51Claude and whatever ChatGPT says, okay?
03:54So we already established that, that coaching thrown out the window.
03:58None of that matters here.
03:59But the NFL, it's still an amazing coaching league because instead of Munkin look, and
04:07again, Munkin told us, he's our best quarterback, gives us the best chance to win.
04:12And we all went, what are you, out of your mind?
04:14Like, what are you talking?
04:16I know, I know, I know.
04:17And here we are, Craig.
04:19And you know what?
04:19They're not asking him to do anything outside of what he is capable and what they believed
04:26he'd have the most success.
04:27It's the short passes.
04:29Don't hold on to the ball.
04:30Get rid of it.
04:31Don't throw it up for good.
04:32And sometimes we forgot that this guy was top five quarterback in a league five years ago,
04:38Craig?
04:38Yes, yes, yes, yes.
04:40All the way up at the top.
04:42All the way up there.
04:43Coaching matters.
04:44Coaching matters.
04:46And decisions.
04:47And you brought up another point.
04:49Decisions matter, too.
04:50And it's like, for people like us, we like to have, we like to, and all the other shows,
04:53too, that have their opinions.
04:54I mean, that's what, it's sort of going away, this yelling at each other's shows now.
04:58Like those, I think they're by the wayside a little bit.
05:01We're entering a new era where people want to see highlights and talk, you know, again.
05:05But we went through about a 10-year period where everybody just wants to be negative and
05:08yell at the coaches and say they're making bad decisions.
05:10You're killing it by the wayside.
05:10Because the issues are killing it.
