BREAKING: The Pentagon just gave U.S. troops a day off — to vote.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered a military-wide stand down by October 15, giving service members one full day to register, request absentee ballots, and vote in the November midterms.

The memo is strict: all voting help must stay nonpartisan. The stand down repeats every October in election years.

But critics note Hegseth has campaigned for Republicans, while the White House pushes new mail-voting barriers.
