00:00Is it time to blow this thing up, Bob?
00:04God, I hate to do it because, you know,
00:06it's not like Phillies are going to – fans are going to sit around and say,
00:08man, I'm going to go through a painful rebuild.
00:11But they've got to change something that's just not working.
00:14You know, do they trade Bryce Harper?
00:16And he's certainly tradable.
00:17He's got no trade clause.
00:20You know, do they trade Kyle Shore or trade Turner?
00:23You're going to have to eat a lot of that money.
00:25So we'll see.
00:27I don't think they can run it back again.
00:29They've tried that.
00:30It's not working.
00:31Hey, when you look at the roster right now for Dombrowski
00:36and you look at the Bryce Harper deal,
00:39are we starting to see signs of it like the old Albert Pujols deal?
00:42You think he still has the juice to be able to be that contract?
00:47And, by the way, if you look at the deal,
00:49and I was talking with my producer, Chris,
00:51and, you know, 27-4 in today's market is not a lot of dough.
00:56But, obviously, when you look at Harper, can he still deliver?
01:00Because if you remember right, at the beginning of the year,
01:03Dave Dabrowski challenged him and said,
01:05we need this guy to be bigger, and we need this guy to carry our baseball team.
01:09If you remember right, he said that when they were in Clearwater.
01:12Bob, can he still carry this baseball team?
01:16He can.
01:16I'm not sure to carry it, but he's still a very good player.
01:19I think I had him 10th in my MVP ballot.
01:22So, no, he's still had a good year, much better than a year ago.
01:28You know, kudos for him to bounce from first base to the outfield
01:32and back to first base again.
01:34So, and I think he's actually making less than the $27 million.
01:39I think it's more toward $23 million.
01:41And that's a very reasonable contract for what he does.
01:43So, the contract has been worked every penny so far for the Phillies.
01:49So, no, I think he still has a lot left in the tank.
01:53And, you know, I think he's a potential Hall of Fame player, too.
01:56And, you know, Bobby will be in the Hall of Fame.
01:59Bob, is this an intriguing job for a guy like Alex Cora?
02:05And, you know, I wonder what they do.
02:07I wonder what Dombrowski does and whether or not, you know,
02:09they stick with Mattingly or maybe they go in a different direction here.
02:13If you're Alex Cora, in the shape that the Phillies are in right now,
02:19in your opinion, is this a job that he would covet?
02:21Is this a job because he's going to have a lot of suitors out there?
02:25No, I think it's a job he covets.
02:27Remember, him and Dave Dombrowski are very close to the Boston days.
02:31So, you know, Alex would love to stay on the East Coast.
02:35You know, there you go right there.
02:37You know, a lot of star talent.
02:40The owner, John Middleton, wants to win year after year.
02:44Great city.
02:45So, no, I think that's the number one choice for him to go.
02:49So, it's really, you know, he's not going to go all the way to Seattle.
02:52He's not going to go somewhere else.
02:54For him, I think it's Philadelphia or nothing.
02:57And if he decides to sit out again this year,
03:00I think it's a long time to be out.
03:02You don't want to be forgotten about.
03:03So, I think he does take that job.
03:07Does Dombrowski survive?
03:09Do you think he is going to survive this?
03:13Yeah.
03:13He's going to get a contract extension, to tell you the truth.
03:16They still like it.
03:17John Middleton loves him.
03:19So, he'll probably have one more contract extension.
03:22What, Dave's 70 years old?
03:23And then kind of ride in the sunset from there.
03:25But I think he's got one more contract.
03:28It'll probably take him to 73, 74 years old.
03:31But, yeah, the plan right now is to give him an extension
03:34because he's a free agent after next year.
