00:00In the movie, the truth is a sort of a battlefield.
00:05Is the truth unpopular in our days?
00:12Politically, yeah.
00:15But I think at the end of the day, the truth is always what prevails and is right.
00:25I would love to believe that. I hope that's the case.
00:28Verity plays with fiction and reality all the time.
00:34You, as actor, also live in a sort of this gray area.
00:40Is it difficult for you to keep reality separate from fiction,
00:45especially when you face complex roles like this?
00:53Sometimes. That happens to me a lot when I sleep.
00:56Like, it'll infiltrate my dreams.
00:59But I think I'm pretty good at separating life from work.
01:02Hmm.
01:03Yeah. Yeah, me too.
01:05I mean, I've got, I feel like I'm too busy in my life to not separate my life from work.
01:10I would just be, I would just be, I'd be a crazy person.
01:13So, yeah.
01:15But also, I think I have the same thing.
01:18Sometimes I dream about, dream from the character's perspective or dream about what the character's going through.
01:23I find it helpful, actually.
01:24Yeah.
01:26Verity writes her novels from the villain's plot point of view.
01:33And we, the war, in reality, the war images of evil on social media, TV, and with podcasts.
01:43What does this movie reveal about our hunger for the darkness?
01:50I think it's, I mean, I don't know if this movie reveals it,
01:55but I think hunger for darkness is like a way to feel okay about your own life
01:59and about your own darkness so that you can compare and sleep at night.
02:04But this movie, I think, is all, well, for Lohan specifically,
02:11she just feels comfortable in that, in that space and in the darkness
02:17and in sort of twisted, damaged places.
02:21So I think perhaps for some people in the world, it's comforting.
02:27Yeah, I mean, I can't speak for everybody,
02:29but it seems like people are really drawn to, especially online,
02:32what is darkest and most messed up.
02:35But I, I don't, I mean, these characters are all traumatized in some way.
02:40So, yeah, I think that they find each other in and maybe because of their trauma.
