00:00Miss Hall, in your film there are two characters, a woman and a man, played by Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn. In whose side you are?
00:12I think I'm both of them at the same time and I understand his perspective and I have respect for it and I understand her perspective and I have respect for it.
00:21And I don't know if I could have written them otherwise. I feel like I can put myself in both of their shoes and I think they're both reflections of where they were born.
00:31Talking about women, as you have written a film called It Ends With Us, in which the women were great protagonists, is there more space for the women today to the cinema?
00:46I think that there's a lot of space being created for stories about women, by women, but for everyone.
00:57There's a lot of conversations around inclusion and that's inclusion in a much grander scope beyond the binary, which is really exciting, I think really wonderful.
01:13But I also think we have a long way to go. And even just beyond the battle of the sexes, I just think humanity at large, part of why I wrote this movie is I really wanted to celebrate the power of human connection.
01:29while I'm still as I really enjoyed this movie.
