00:00A tiny baby red panda is trapped inside a hollow tree, only her fluffy striped tail sticking out,
00:05crying for her mama. Will anyone hear her tiny voice in the big bamboo forest?
00:09It all began on a misty golden morning in a quiet bamboo forest.
00:13Little Ruby, the red panda cub, toddled happily beside her mama,
00:16while soft sunlight sparkled through the tall green bamboo.
00:20Then Ruby spotted a bright red maple leaf twirling in the wind,
00:23dancing and spinning over the mossy path. Off she scampered, giggling,
00:27chasing it between the bamboo stems.
00:30She chased the leaf down a gentle grassy slope, faster and faster,
00:33until her little paws slipped on the wet moss. Tumble, roll, and whoosh!
00:37Ruby tumbled straight into a big, hollow, fallen tree trunk and slid deep inside.
00:41The inside was smooth and slippery, and the opening was too high for her tiny claws to climb.
00:46Ruby pushed and scrambled with all her might, but she only slipped back down, frightened and tired.
00:52Outside, her mama paced in circles, calling and calling, but she could not reach her baby.
00:56On the forest path nearby, kind old bamboo craftsman Hero was walking home with his lantern and his
01:02basket of bamboo. He stopped, he listened. A tiny cry was coming from deep in the trees.
01:07A baby in trouble! Hero hurried through the bamboo, following the little cries and a trail
01:12of tiny paw prints in the soft moss, his lantern glowing warm in the mist. At last he found the
01:18hollow
01:18trunk and peeked inside very gently. There was Ruby, trembling, with big, hopeful eyes.
01:23Do not worry, little one, Hero whispered. I will get you out.
01:28Hero worked slowly and kindly. He rolled the great trunk a little so the opening tilted down,
01:33lined the inside with his soft scarf, and held out a sturdy bamboo ramp for Ruby to walk on.
01:39Step by careful step, Ruby tiptoed down the ramp, slipped once, caught herself, and then, pop!
01:44She tumbled safely into Hero's warm arms, safe and sound at last.
01:48Mama Red Panda rushed forward and wrapped Ruby in the biggest, warmest hug,
01:53nuzzling her cheek again and again, while Ruby hugged her back with all her tiny paws.
01:58Hero gave Ruby a sip of warm milk and a tender bamboo shoot, and the happy little cub did a
02:02joyful roly-poly in the leaves, making everyone laugh. At sunset, Mama and Ruby walked home together
02:08under glowing fireflies, and Ruby never chased a leaf alone again. The end.
02:13Hero's warm.
02:13Hero's warm.
