00:17But let me just ask you, how concerned are the Patriots internally about Drake May's play right now?
00:23I think they're probably more confounded than concerned, would be my guess.
00:28Yes, because you're talking about a guy that is an elite talent, that was second in the MVP voting last

00:35We know how good he is.
00:36He just, for whatever reason, he seems like he's lost his confidence so far this year.
00:41That's what it looks like out there.
00:42It doesn't look like he's playing with the same confidence out there.
00:46It's their job to get it back, see how they can get it back.
00:52Again, it's amazing that somebody can be that good last year and then be off this year.
00:57So, just a little confusing.
00:59I don't know if they're worried, but probably just determined to get him back on track.
01:04How's his shoulder, Adam, to the best of your knowledge?

01:09But, again, as long as he's playing like this, people are going to float all kinds of theories.

01:27Adam, it's obviously desperate times here in Patriot land.
01:31So, a lot of people are trying to figure out, you know, with A.J. Brown being injured, can he
01:35get help from the receiving court?
01:37And it was interesting, Tyreek Hill posted on Twitter, you know, some cryptic message about wanting to play or maybe
01:44ready for some cold weather.
01:45And so, people are thinking maybe that's the Patriot.
01:47Does Tyreek Hill, does he have a role, not only in the Patriots, but just anywhere in the NFL based
01:54on his, you know, off-the-field stuff?
01:57My understanding is that he's not close at this point in time.
02:02I think there have been talks with teams.
02:03I don't know how many teams.
02:05I don't think that he's close to a deal at this moment.
02:08I think at some point this season, he's determined to come play again.
02:11We'll see if and when that happens.
02:14But I don't, I'm not thinking that there is a signing that's imminent.
02:19Like, it almost seemed like he was trying to imply.
02:21Adam, does it seem like the Patriots, with A.J. Brown out temporarily, might try to bring in somebody else?
02:28Whether it be, listen, Odell Beckham, I know, is floating out there.
02:32There's a couple of other names.
02:33Do you think they would bring in some help, potentially, while they're waiting for A.J. Brown to return?
02:38Yeah, I actually think they're kind of deep at the position.
02:42Maybe not as deep as they once were, having traded Booty to Houston and having lost A.J. Brown.
02:48But you still have, out there right now, some players capable of making plays, Pop Douglas, Matt Collins.
02:59It's not ideal, but I don't know if you're going to get some help off the street that's going to
03:03be an upgrade over what you have right now.
03:06Adam, back to Drake for a second.
03:08Our morning host, Greg Hill, had reported today or had relayed that he had heard from a source there was
03:12a bit of an issue between Drake and Mike Vrabel going back to last year.
03:16Have you heard anything that corroborates that or pushes back on that at all?
03:21I don't know what that is.
03:24You know, that's, you know, to me, I saw it floated out there.
03:30Again, what I would say to you is this.
03:32We're going to keep grasping for theories as to what's wrong with Drake May, physical, shoulder, you asked about, mental,
03:39Mike Vrabel.
03:40I don't know what's wrong, but this conversation is not going away anytime soon.
03:47As long as he's struggling, turning over the football, they're not winning.
03:51We're going to keep speculating on what's wrong because it just doesn't look right.
03:55So something seems off, whatever that is.
03:59And the only way to quiet those questions is to play better and win games.

04:10Adam, I'm curious, you know, what is wrong with C.J. Stroud and Baker Mayfield for not taking the contract

04:17I mean, both of them, I think, turned down pretty substantial contracts, just thinking they deserve more money.

04:25So you think those guys are regretting not, you know, putting pen to paper in the summer?
04:31Well, Baker did take the deal.

04:54So he's had some issues to overcome, but I think he believes that in the end it'll work out for

04:58Baker got paid $155 million guaranteed.

05:08It was like end of August, early September.
05:11It's all one big blur, but he got paid.
05:13He did what he had to do, and I'll bet he probably feels pretty good about that right now.
05:17All right, Adam Schefter, this is fairly recent news, as in within the last hour or two,
05:23but Christian Gonzalez apparently missed today's practice,
05:26and he had his media session abruptly canceled, which is somewhat concerning,
05:31especially when you're a couple days before you face the bills.
05:34Have you heard anything about Christian Gonzalez and why he wasn't there today?

06:46Christian Gonzalez was in the locker room today.
06:48My understanding is he got banged up a bit making a tackle.
06:52After the game, he said he felt good.
06:54So my guess is it has something to do with a hit he took on Sunday.
06:58They're probably nurturing him along, and we'll see if that turns out to be the case tomorrow and Friday.

07:06Do they have any weak spots?
07:08Paint a picture of a New England win, if you could, this weekend.
07:13Yeah, I mean, the defense has been good, but not great.
07:16They've given up some points and some yards.
07:17It looks like they're going to be without Christian Benford at the cornerback position.
07:21It looks like he might not play this weekend.
07:24They've been in games before where, you know, hopefully you can get Josh Allen to turn over the football.
07:28Otherwise, he's been the best player in football this year.
07:32If he's not turning it over, he's got no shot.
07:36So that's going to be the key.
07:38Can they get turnovers against the Bills and get that kind of thing?
