00:21browns 216474 to below 92 because it's not just the browns it's the idea that nobody knows what
00:26to do with this steelers team either and nobody's got a clue is aaron rogers good at football last
00:32week would tell you he's good at football the first two weeks would tell you the man can't play
00:36football anymore is it just jalen warren going off is that all this is for the steelers it was a

00:40week for pittsburgh i mean you put up 400 yards of offense against cincinnati and scored 30 points
00:47i'd say that there's a good offense in there somewhere and obviously jalen warren played a
00:51big role in that rumbling the ball out of the backfield i also think he caught like almost
00:5550 yards worth of passes from aaron rogers um that's their rb1 i don't know why the first two
01:00weeks of the year pittsburgh was trying to like play this game with themselves where they've got
01:04this split backfield between warren and rico dowdall like jalen warren is your best running
01:09back um i don't mind it i hope they get confused with it again on thursday i do think pittsburgh

01:52yesterday about him watching this pittsburgh game or sorry watching this browns game uh from last
01:57week was like through three quarters i don't know what the hell's going on it's a confusing i don't

02:03either you know what that tells me though isn't the truth somewhere always in the middle of two
02:08extremes and that tells me that this is probably going to be your classic browns stealers low scoring
02:16defensive affair that's kind of the vibe that i get for it at least a little bit more than so
02:21that's another part of this is that in the past we could always chalk it up to that because what
02:24did tomlin love to do he loved to get in the mud that's where tomlin shined in his ideal world

02:30game that he played against the browns it was going to be kept close and it was going to be

02:34things where in the fourth quarter then he'd hit you with a gut punch and then you'd be off to

02:37races and it was what it was but like that's that's what he loved the the the fights in the

02:42what he loved and and i mike mccarthy doesn't really doesn't really do that that's not mike

02:51mccarthy likes to find out what his offense can do hell that's why they have a running game in
02:55pittsburgh right now and it's why aaron rogers at 42 years old at least last week started to throw
02:59the ball down the field i have no idea what's going to happen i'm fascinated to find out but i

03:08browns team is right now no and and maybe that'll be part of the intrigue for the national audience is
03:14just what version of these two teams are real because you've seen moments from the browns where
03:21it's like okay this is awesome you know when denzel boston is rumbling with the football in his hands
03:26awesome when they look like there was a glimpse of the run game working against carolina when quinchon
03:33rips off the 11 yard run and then rocket sanders follows it up with the biggest run of the day

03:37you see flashes of this offense working but in totality over three weeks it's been a major work
03:44in progress i kind of think that that's what we get in week four though like i really do think

03:49that's what we get thursday night especially if elton jenkins can't go that's like another whole
03:54wrinkle to throw into this you're trying to figure out what this team is and then you're going to have
03:59a new center in the game which is going to be tough for obviously the quarterback who's been up and
04:04down for the run game which has been more down than up it is confusing dude like i was thinking
04:09about that on the drive here before we even talked in the pre-show just that there is no outcome

04:15thursday night football that would surprise me oh yeah what would i mean browns blow the steelers out
04:21and you're like all right we could see that happening steelers blow the browns out all right i guess i
04:25could see that happening too i guess i'd be surprised that the defense didn't show up at this point i

04:29have them penciled in and locked in to play good football which is odd because that's only been two
04:34weeks in the making but here i am yeah like i'm not there yet so that's why like nothing would
04:38surprise me because like i could see aaron rogers and dk metcalf and jalen warren just feasting you
04:44know finding what trevor lawrence and the jags did right in week one and copying and pasting it in a
04:50thursday night football i could also see that i don't i just don't believe aaron rogers can do it
04:54back-to-back weeks i don't i don't i got a hard time i got a hard time with that

04:58see a world where maybe deshawn and the browns have found something with these back-to-back fourth
05:03quarter heroic improbable victories maybe they find what works in that fourth quarter and find a way to
05:10spread it across an entire complete game like there is no outcome really on thursday night that
05:14would shock me what i find interesting is the idea that everyone thinks that they have no clue what's
05:19going to happen with deshaun watson and they're right for that we have no idea what deshaun watson is we
05:23don't know if he just plays good football in the fourth quarter and that's all he is is he going
05:26to get better as the season moves on and all of a sudden he'll have complete games we have no
05:30idea
05:31but even though we have no idea with deshaun i have absolutely zero idea when it comes to aaron
05:37rogers i don't know are you gonna get the guy that absolutely crapped the bet against new england
05:42in week two and couldn't move the ball at all and didn't throw the ball deep at all are you

05:47the guy that last week against cincinnati showed up in a big-time way and kind of looked like the

05:51uh what four-time mvp aaron rogers like i but like the funny thing about this is everyone's so
05:55concerned about what version of deshaun watson you're gonna get i think the question really is
06:00you can't tell me what version deshaun's gonna be out there and you certainly can't tell me what
06:04version of aaron rogers is gonna be out there he can't even tell you especially if these defenses
06:08are what we think they are like jonathan you said you think the browns defenses turn a corner and
06:13they're locked in kind of i maybe it's premature but i just feel like after two weeks there's enough
06:18there for me to be like all right because i thought they were gonna be good i didn't think
06:20they'd be this good yeah but so the pressure rates are insane so dude like if the pressure
06:24rates are that on thursday night against rogers he's not gonna like that he's an older quarterback
06:30we all know he's not very mobile he's already been sacked eight times already this season putting
06:34things very nicely so if they're getting heat on him of course he's gonna have a little bit
06:39trouble cooking and i then look at the same thing for pittsburgh's defensive line with cam hayward who's
06:45gonna get fitted for a gold jacket when he retires and tj watt coming off the edge also very confusing
06:51he's got three and a half sacks his his pass rush win rate and his get off is as fast
06:56as it's been
06:57in five years uh like i did did he just go to the fountain of youth did his brother hook
07:02him up with
07:02the old steroid jerk i don't i don't know what's going on with tj watt but he looks like the

07:06watt and that's not a good development and especially against this retooled browns offensive line that's
07:11still trying to come together um we're talking to titus howard in his locker about not not jumping
07:17three times in a given half uh would be a really nice thing and and those are the dudes that
07:23he's
07:23going to be going against so this is a very hard game to predict my best guess though is that

07:28does take a page out of the old tomlin steeler games and that it is a little bit muddy it

07:33little bit low scoring that that's kind of just how i lean right now because i think when you've got

07:38pretty good defenses like the steelers have a veteran defense um up front and in the secondary
07:44like i definitely think it skews lower score do browns fans love this uncertainty that we live in

08:11little bit more of that type of confidence but is this like an exciting i know it's exciting for
08:15fans i know everyone's excited but like the idea that you really don't know if this team is good

08:25so i don't think for the fans is that just exciting the fans are just excited i think like this

08:31for the first time in a really long time we've had a two-week window of fun browns football
08:37now you want to keep that window open because we'd like to extend that we've seen really fun
08:41windows of browns football just get slammed shut on us really fast and i don't want that to be
08:47i think it also helps nick the idea that uh i think a lot of people just thought this year
08:51was going to
08:51suck yeah and and so i think even even if the idea that after week four we are the leader

08:58north in moving to three and one against the steelers if that's the peak of the season then at least

09:03got to week five with a lot of excitement and a lot of fun and we were able to extend

09:07a lot further than a lot of people prognosticated that we're playing meaningful football into october
09:13you know some some cities right now they say you know we want to be playing meaningful football in
09:18december and january but for the browns you got a crawl walk run we're playing meaningful football
09:24in october there's something exciting about that there is something exciting when i thought the season
09:29was going to be dead in october when this and i think that's it the whiplash from fans of the
09:33idea
09:33of you just you just didn't think we'd be talking about anything fun at this point i mean there was
09:37a there's a world that exists where if this thing got off to that rocky of a start well they'd
09:40be
09:40playing chador right now i would imagine and that would bring some excitement in and of itself but
09:44we wouldn't be too far away from talking about mock drafts and quarterbacks and everything in
09:48between and we're just not doing that right now we're like actually breaking down these games
09:52i'm trying to figure out if the steelers are any good spoiler alert i don't think i don't think
09:56aaron rogers is at this point but we'll have to find out what happens tomorrow night
