00:00Whoever set it up canceled fast.
00:03How fast?
00:0430 seconds, maybe less.
00:11Who set it up?
00:12Anonymous donor.
00:13Then tell anonymous donor no.
00:15Wendy, this is a lot of money.
00:17That's why I'm saying no before I get used to it.
00:23What do you want me to do?
00:24Cancel the money.
00:25The child care fund?
00:26All of it.
00:28Apartment contingency?
00:29Cancel it.
00:30Job support?
00:30Cancel it.
00:32Security?
00:33Security stays.
00:34She told you to stop.
00:35She told me to stop running her life.
00:37If Charles moves, we move.
00:39Otherwise, we stay out.
00:42That's new.
00:43What is?
00:44You stopping.
00:45Get used to it.
00:57Not like this.
01:02Do you have an appointment?
01:04No.
01:08Tell Liam Hale Wendy is here.
01:12Ma'am, Mr. Hale doesn't take walk-ins?
01:14Good.
01:15I'm not here for a meeting.
01:19You can return that to him after he tells me to my face he doesn't know me.
01:25Mr. Hale is unavailable.
01:27Tell him I'm done chasing ghosts.
01:30If he wants to be a coward, he can do it in person.
01:35I'll tell him exactly that.
01:36Please do.
01:55Mr. Hale.
01:57No.
01:59No.
01:59You're not walking away again.
02:06Good morning, Mr. Hale.
02:11Of course.
02:13Wendy.
02:14Mr. Hale.
02:19Don't say my name like nothing happened.
02:22You can walk?
02:24Yes.
02:25You were never homeless?
02:27No.
02:29People here are afraid to breathe wrong around you.
02:31Some of them are dramatic.
02:33And I gave you my couch?
02:35I know.
02:36My food?
02:37I know.
02:38My daughter's pillow?
02:42Now you can explain why the most powerful man in this building slept on my floor.
02:46Were you the man I pulled out of the ocean?
02:48Wendy.
02:48Yes or no?
02:51Yes.
02:51The man in my apartment?
02:53Yes.
02:53The one who left before I woke up?
02:55Don't.
02:57Yes.
02:58The homeless man in my house?
03:00Say it.
03:03Yes.
03:04Did you know who I was?
03:07Yes.
03:12How long?
03:13I can explain.
03:14I didn't ask for an explanation.
03:16How long?
03:18From the day I saw you again.
03:23And Nora?
03:27Is she yours?
03:31Is Nora yours?
03:33I think so.
03:34You think so?
03:35The timing.
03:36The medalli-
03:36Those aren't a DNA test.
03:38Did you test her?
03:39No.
03:40Could you have?
03:42Yes.
03:43Then why didn't you?
03:45Because it would have meant taking something from her without you knowing.
03:52That's where you found the line.
04:00What is that?
04:01Places I looked.
04:02For four years?
04:03Yes.
04:04And you still thought pretending to be homeless was a reasonable introduction?
04:07It sounds worse when you say it like that.
04:08Good.
04:10Good.
04:20There's something you need to see.
04:26You kept all this.
04:29Some things were easier to keep than people.
04:36You carried it.
04:37Yeah.
04:39All this time?
04:43So you knew.
04:44I suspected.
04:45How long did you know Nora could be yours?
04:50Since the first day.
04:54Then you had every day after that to tell me.
04:57Daddy fast.
04:58Daddy fixed him.
04:59Is this your dad?
05:00Yes.
05:01Daddy, come here.
05:03Did I do bad?
05:04She called you daddy.
05:06At school.
05:07At the hospital.
05:08In my house.
05:09I know.
05:10No.
05:10Don't say that like it helps.
05:11I was trying to keep her safe.
05:13Don't call that protection.
05:19You hurt us.
05:22You just had a reason.
05:36Wendy.
05:37Don't.
05:39Do you know what she said after you left?
05:42She asked if she did something bad.
05:46I never wanted it.
05:47I know.
05:49It happened anyway.
05:52Charles had people outside.
05:54Then tell me.
05:56You would have stayed.
05:58Maybe.
05:59I couldn't risk losing you.
06:01So you gambled with us instead.
06:03What was I supposed to do?
06:05Ask me.
06:07And if you said no?
06:08Then you hear no.
06:10I was afraid.
06:11Of Charles?
06:14Of finding you again and losing you anyway.
06:18Nora already looked at me like I was her dad.
06:19You looked at me like maybe...
06:21Maybe what?
06:22Maybe I still had somewhere to go.
06:25So you left first?
06:27Yeah.
06:28You're not seeing Nora today.
06:29No calls.
06:30No gifts.
06:31No car outside.
06:33Wendy.
06:33I need time.
06:34And for once, you're going to give it to me.
06:37Hey.
06:38No.
06:40Okay.
06:43Did you find Daddy?
06:46Yes.
06:47Where is he?
06:52Not coming tonight.
06:54Mommy needs to think.
06:56Is he bad?
06:57No.
06:58He did something bad.
07:00Like stealing?
07:01Yes.
07:02But he wasn't stealing, was he?
07:04No.
07:04Then why did he say he was?
07:06Because adults can be very stupid when they're scared.
07:09Is Daddy scared now?
07:11Probably.
07:12Then he can be stupid over there.
07:14That's the current plan.
07:16What are you doing?
07:17Over there.
07:18That's your chair.
07:19Daddy can borrow it.
07:21Security has visual on Wendy and Nora.
07:23Distance?
07:24Across the block.
07:25Too close.
07:26She'll never know.
07:27That's not the point.
07:29Move the car?
07:30Two blocks farther.
07:31Then we lose direct visual.
07:32That's what she asked for.
07:36If she asks, she gets all of it.
07:38No rejections.
07:39And if she doesn't ask?
07:40Then it stays here.
07:51Before anything else, we confirm Nora.
07:54Confirm.
07:55DNA.
07:58We're not telling a four-year-old you're her biological father because two halves of a medallion fit.
08:03You're right.
08:07You nervous?
08:09No.
08:11Maybe.
08:12What if you're wrong?
08:14Then she's not biologically mine.
08:16She's still Nora.
08:18She's yours.
08:21Can I tell her?
08:23Not yet.
08:26Okay.
08:29Now you can look.
08:35Charles spent years telling me the same thing.
08:37Anyone you love becomes leverage.
08:39And you believed him.
08:41People kept getting hurt.
08:43So you lived by his rule?
08:45I lived.
08:47Yeah.
08:49Alone.
08:51If Charles isn't running your life anymore, stop living by his rules.
08:55You should stay out of this.
08:57What do you want to do?
09:00Finish it.
09:02Together?
09:03Don't make it weird.
09:05Together.
09:06That's all this means.
09:08I know.
09:12Where is Nora?
09:15At 2.14, your verified parent account submitted an emergency pickup authorization.
09:19The man had matching authorization code and photo ID.
09:21I didn't send anything.
09:23It was forged.
09:30That's hail fleet.
09:33Track the vehicle.
09:34Now.
09:34Warehouse district.
09:35Sending the location.
09:36Wait.
09:38Your father will come.
09:40I know.
09:42You're not scared?
09:44A little.
09:47But daddy's scary.
09:52Daddy.
09:53I'm here.
10:01She's fine.
10:02You came for my daughter.
10:04That was your last mistake.
10:05You think loving them makes you stronger?
10:08Rear loading door.
10:10He went out the back.
10:13You came.
10:15Yeah.
10:16Are you really my daddy?
10:18Yeah.
10:19I'm really your dad.
10:21I knew.
10:22You're leaking.
10:25I'm okay.
10:27Bear says that too.
10:30Bear's a liar.
10:31You fixed him.
10:33Yeah.
10:37Still fast.
10:40Very fast.
10:43You can sit.
10:45I'm fine.
10:48Right.
10:49Sorry.
10:53You looked at me before you answered her.
10:56You told me not to make that choice without you.
10:59Good.
11:00That's it?
11:01Were you expecting a sticker?
11:03Maybe a small one.
11:04You call it protection.
11:06It was.
11:07I thought it was.
11:10You never asked me.
11:12You would have said no.
11:14Exactly.
11:15That's what a choice is.
11:18I told myself I was keeping you alive.
11:22I was alive.
11:23I just didn't know why you were gone.
11:27I couldn't lose you again.
11:29So you left.
11:30I lied to you.
11:31That part was mine.
11:33Yes.
11:34That was yours.
11:37I was scared.
11:39Of Charles?
11:40No.
11:42Of you.
11:44Me?
11:44Charles is easy.
11:46He wants power.
11:47He wants hail.
11:48He wants me afraid.
11:50You...
11:50What about me?
11:52I was afraid you'd choose a life without me.
11:54And if I do?
11:57Then I live with it.
11:59You'd let me go?
12:02I'd hate it.
12:04But yeah.
12:10Are you fighting?
12:12A little.
12:14Kissing?
12:16No.
12:17Bad job.
12:19I'm getting that impression.
12:21Fix it.
12:24Look at you.
12:25You let them turn you soft.
12:28Is that what you think happened?
12:30You used to be untouchable.
12:33No.
12:34No.
12:35I used to be alone.
12:39Remove them.
12:44You think this makes you part of this world?
12:46No.
12:47It makes you part of mine.
12:49You came after my daughter.
12:52Nora retakes over Jellius
12:54and does 30 access
12:55when your author's winning 18 Citadens.
12:58You heard her.
12:59She'll never understand
13:00what it takes to run hail.
13:01She doesn't need to.
13:03Then why is she here?
13:04Because you came after my daughter.
13:07That made it my business.
13:09You used to be smarter.
13:11I used to think you were right.
13:14Ready?
13:15Now I am.
13:18You kept the shoes.
13:20They make me fast.
13:26Beside us.
13:28Not in front.
13:32There'll be cameras.
13:33People will talk.
13:35You can still leave.
13:37I'm here because I want to be.
13:43What was that?
13:44That too.
13:46Don't make me regret it.
13:48Trying very hard not to.
13:52This area is family only.
13:55Perfect.
13:56That's why I'm here.
14:00Nora is my daughter.
14:04And Wendy is here because she chose to be.
14:09I did.
14:13She's mommy.
14:15They don't know.
14:17Apparently not.
14:19Grown ups.
14:22This is my family.
14:26And when you're scared.
14:28You tell me.
14:31I will.
14:34You can still walk away.
14:37Ask me again and I will.
14:41I'm good.
14:44Daddy's scared.
14:46Wait.
14:50You have to promise me too.
14:54Okay.
14:56No leaving.
14:59Even if mommy yells.
15:01Excuse me?
15:02Even if I'm bad.
15:06You are never the reason I leave.
15:08I promise.
15:11No disappearing.
15:13Agreed.
15:15No secret cars outside my house.
15:18Agreed.
15:19No buying my problems.
15:21Agreed.
15:22And when you're scared.
15:24You tell me.
15:26I will.
15:29Then yes.
15:33That's the last box.
15:35Then we're done?
15:37Yeah.
15:42Daddy.
15:43Yeah.
15:44Are you coming home?
15:46You coming or not?
15:53You kept them.
15:56She kept them.
15:57For when you came home.
16:13Daddy's home.
