00:00If someone were to ask me, am I in panic mode?
00:03No, I'm not. I sleep at night.
00:05I do think that the concerns raised by many of the experts, specialists in AI,
00:10should be taken seriously.
00:12I don't think that that is fake news, as some have said,
00:15to try and cause, whether financial or some other kind of benefit.
00:20It's interesting to note that just today, I read that the head of NVIDIA
00:25claims that he has found some way of inserting into AI certain guardrails, if you will,
00:33or limits so that they won't go outside of their particular units
00:36and cause the damage that people are talking about.
00:39He's the same one, however, that says there should be no limits placed
00:43and no government regulation, etc., etc.
00:47This is a problem that I think we need to sit down and talk about.
00:50We need to continue to invite political leaders, the leaders of AI,
00:58social organizations, associations, to come together
01:01and look at what is happening already and what could be down the road.
01:06To simply say, oh, it's not going to happen and close our eyes to it,
01:09I think it's probably not the most responsible way to go about that.
01:20And so we are trying to continue to promote dialogue, study, investigation,
01:26to find ways to make sure that AI does not get to a point
01:30where it could destroy humanity or remove humanity from the conversation.
01:36I am relatively optimistic that that can happen.
01:40I think that people, there are enough people seriously interested in that
01:43and willing to look at that outside of the questions, once again, of power,
01:49who gets there first, what happens when AI goes to being what they call
01:52general artificial intelligence, etc., etc.
01:56But we have to keep working.
01:58We can't just sit back and pretend nothing's going to happen.
