00:17over a child in Iraq to protect her convoy. I was 23 years old and I got sent to the
00:23invasion of
00:23Iraq and I spent 397 days as a combat medic and it absolutely convinced me to lay down my weapon
00:30and to fight for peace. She now transforms guns from people who have gone through trauma. Either
00:36it was a tragedy or there's a suicide or oftentimes veterans want to change the weapons in their life.
00:42She wrote a book as well called Waging Peace, hoping to inspire others to choose gardens over guns.
00:49And then I spend my time making them into art that builds the world I want to see, which is
00:56more gardens and less guns.
