00:34Local activists unveiled a community quilt at the state capitol last night, demanding
00:39state action against immigration enforcement.
00:41Community members gathered to display this handmade quilt featuring thousands of squares
00:46contributed by local residents and students, calling on state leaders to prohibit local
00:50law enforcement coordination with federal immigration agencies.
00:54Mary Vanderford is treasurer of the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee, NIRAC,
00:59and says some of the squares came from other states all over the nation.
01:02Some of them were done by children at school, after school program.
01:07So you'd have to look at it carefully to see those, but no stolen neighbors, ice out, things like that.
01:15Organizers say each square of the 11,000 patch quilt is meant to urge state officials to enact
01:20stricter sanctuary city policies.
