00:00Groundbreaking this afternoon on a new headquarters for the Minnesota State Patrol.
00:04The Roseville facility has been years in the making and for the first time will combine
00:08employees from six different locations under one roof.

00:14This is tough work and it has changed.
00:16Modern policing is different now and we know that this isn't just about a building, it's
00:21about people who occupy the building, it's about the mission that they need to get done.
00:25In 2025, we've seen that violent crime has increased 14% in Twin Cities, 9% in Greater
00:31Minnesota and the Uniform Crime Report puts the lowest level of violent crime in the past
00:37decade in Minnesota.
00:38That's because of the men and women that do this work on a daily basis.
00:42The $119 million facility will have state of the art technology and will be large enough
00:47to allow for collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies.
00:50Training continues throughout a career at our agency because the challenges we face continue
00:55to change and dedicated evidence processing and storage will give us the secure space we
01:00need to protect evidence and support the investigative process.
01:04It is scheduled to open in 2028.
