00:09It's very obvious when you watch it compared to Cliff's offense
00:12and then Eric Biennemi's offense prior to that
00:14and Scott Turner would get away from it.
00:17Like, watching the way Blau runs the offense,
00:20there's a very real and obvious to me commitment to the run game
00:23that we probably haven't seen since, like, the good Kirk Cousins years
00:28when Gruden was running a pretty balanced offense.
00:30I'm talking, like, 2016, right?

00:34My man Pedro – so I tweeted it out with some numbers, right?

00:41Were the commanders not one of the top rushing teams the last two years?
00:44If you just want to trust the numbers on that, fire away, Pedro.
00:48But the reality is if you watched, if you actually trust your eyes
00:52and not just some analytical list provided by some service
00:55that's trying to get you to pay for their private access,
00:59like, just watch the games.
01:00The rushing totals over the last two years have largely been driven
01:03by quarterback running, by quarterback runs,
01:06by quarterback yardage in the rush game.
01:08What you've seen through three games is a very different level of commitment.
01:11And to me, that's painfully obvious, but not to all that are numbers addicts.

02:55Because they wouldn't get nowhere when they were trying to run the football.
02:58Yeah, you almost wonder if earlier in that game,
03:00if the Seattle offense was like, hey, we could probably throw it on these guys.
03:04But they were trying to do their own thing to establish the run, which was –

03:09But when you keep trying and you keep getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage,
03:12you say, oh, well, I'm going to just throw it.
03:14Because Jackson Smith and Jigba, it's hard to stop that dude.

03:21Marcus had a couple dangerous balls, but he was so in control.
03:26And when you talk about a veteran backup that could come in and win you games,
03:32yesterday was the perfect example of that.
03:35Another dude I want to give a little bit of love to.
03:37I understand he missed the 50-yard extra point because of the dumb penalty.
03:40But when Jacob Myers came out just before halftime and lined up from 57,
03:46and you could tell the way Seattle didn't think twice about sending their guy out there
03:52on a cold, windy, rainy day from 57, and he nails it to make it 14-10 before halftime.
03:58And then Washington's able to send their rookie kicker, Drew Stevens, out there
04:04to match a 57-yarder.
04:06That was a big boy kick in that moment.
04:08I was on the field right there where that ball went through those uprights, Jay.
04:13And I was like, wow.
04:14That thing would have been good from 65.
04:16Yeah, he had way more distance, but I'll say this.
04:20I don't know why when they have that penalty on the kicks, he missed that.

05:41And hats off, you know, to Mr. Blau for this, I guess, when you're doing them practices.
05:46He, I don't know if he was just doing his reads and going through progression, but everybody got a chance
05:52to get the ball.

05:54Guys I never heard of him catching the ball.
05:55And he just looks so poised in the pocket, like, you know, this is no big deal.
06:00And it was fantastic.
06:02I also would like to mention that, you know, there was, there's opportunities there.
06:07D-line looked good, but secondary, I think I'll saw center still back there at the opposite end of the
06:12end zone when the guy was wide open.
06:14And there's a lot of quick passes.
06:17I know they got a hot hand out there with a receiver, but still a lot of, a lot of
06:22got to tighten up that secondary.
06:23And, and Mike, I think this one's for you, Brian.
06:26And, um, uh, Mike McDonald, a couple of years ago, when he was looking, they're looking at him possibly.
06:34And he, he kind of stuck his nose up at us.
06:37And I know Brian, that didn't sit well for you.
06:39It didn't sit well for anybody.
06:40And it sure was nice to see this 12 game streak get blown out.
06:44So I agree with that.
06:46I also, listen, Ben Johnson did the legit nose sticking.
06:50Mike McDonald was pretty fair and honest in his coaching process.
06:54He wanted to go somewhere that had a law, like an established veteran general manager in front office.
07:00And that's why McDonald liked Seattle.
07:03So that, that if you, if you, if you're remembering it, the way Ben Johnson handled, it was extremely unprofessional
07:09McDonald.
07:10I wouldn't put in that same category for whatever that's work.
07:13Um, I, I do think, listen, if you want to be critical of the secondary, I understand it.
07:19I mean, Darnold did go for three 80 or four touchdowns, but they generated turnovers.
07:24They had two interceptions by their linebackers and Brian, I thought they did a phenomenal job.
07:29Listen, and Jig was the best receiver on the planet right now.
07:32That's just reality, but they kept him.
07:34It was death by paper cuts rather than death by a machete.
07:39There was no big play to in Jigba.
07:41And I think that was a big difference.
07:43He finished with 10 catches for 128 yards, but his longest catch in this game was 26 yards.
07:49He never, he never hit them with the 55 yard deep shot.
07:53And I think that allowed Washington to kind of maintain their offensive game plan.
07:58I mean, the commanders, they've won time of possession in this thing, which is not nothing in a game that
08:03goes down to the wire.
08:04So I applaud the defensive, at least theory.
08:08When you win the time of possession and you get touchdowns at the end of those things, the other team
08:14may have a lot of yards, but you know why the other team has a lot of yards?
08:16Because they've got to throw the ball.

08:19Washington was controlling that game for most of the game.
