I tested a pile of products from YouTube Shorts creators to find out which ones are actually good, which ones are weirdly useful, and which ones are just plain terrible. 00:00:04Ryan Trahan, but there is one class of creators whose products I feel like don't get a lot of

00:00:08coverage. YouTube Shorts Creators. I'm talking Zach D Films, Nick D Giovanni, Zach King, and so

00:00:14much more, and so I bought dozens of YouTube Shorts Creators products to see whether or not

00:00:18they're actually good. And let me tell you, there are definitely some crazy ones, so let's go ahead

00:00:21and test these out. This Shorts Creator product we're going to take a look at is one of the

00:00:24biggest Shorts Creators of all time, and that is Law by Mike. And this is his book right here.

00:00:28It's called Oops, That's Illegal, and he has his real government name there, Mike Mandel,

00:00:32and it is a handbook for the wildly curious and the accidental outlaw. Interesting premise. And

00:00:39then we have Law by Mike here and a bunch of kids in jail. Okay, so on the back from

00:00:43popular creator

00:00:44Law by Mike, a hilarious guide to all your legal questions. So I've actually read this book before,

00:00:49funnily enough, a flashback to when I was reading it. I was on a water slide reading this book, and

00:00:53I came across some pretty interesting passages, so I figured we introduce it again and I could look at

00:00:57some more. So just a random page let's open up to. Can I bring my own booze on an airplane?

00:01:02You can,

00:01:02as long as it doesn't exceed 3.4 ounces. Okay, TSA Mike. Can I get a DUI on a bicycle?

00:01:08Sure,

00:01:08it's easy. Many states look at bicycles the same way as an automobile. See, I didn't know that. I

00:01:12personally thought that bicycles, since they don't have engines, were exempt, but what do you know?

00:01:16Is it illegal to share my Netflix password? It might be. All right, so don't do that. And then last

00:01:21but not

00:01:21least. How many murders does it take to be considered a serial killer? Serial killer is

00:01:26not a legal term. Good to know. All right, Mike, educating the youth. This is a really good toilet

00:01:31book. And what I mean by that is that when you're using the bathroom and you want some quick bite

00:01:35sized facts, I think this is a great book. So really good gift. If you want to get somebody a

00:01:40gift for

00:01:40Christmas or their birthday and they know law by Mike, I think this is a home run. Or should I

00:01:45say

00:01:45a homicide? All right, cool. Good job, Mike. Shout out, Mike. Very good book. I'm going to have

00:01:50this like a 9.5 out of 10. This Shorts Crater product we're going to be taking a look at

00:01:53is

00:01:53Zach D Films' product. Now, he doesn't technically have this product, but he did make a video on this

00:01:59hypothetical product and it says patent pending. It's called the taste mask. So I don't know if that

00:02:03means that Zach D Films is currently making this product, but it may be his sometime soon. So let's go

00:02:08ahead and see what this is. Then I'm going to go ahead and buy it slash try to make it

00:02:10or something.

00:02:11The strip would cover every little bump on your tongue. Then it pairs with an app.

00:02:16Okay. I'm guessing it's just going to mask the taste of whatever you eat. Yeah. So broccoli

00:02:20tastes like chocolate. The taste signals, replacing them with your selected flavors.

00:02:26Mmm. That's kind of genius, actually. The broccoli will taste like a bacon cheese.

00:02:29This would definitely lend itself to some insane eating disorders, though. So I feel like you have

00:02:33to be careful with it. I don't know if the taste mask exists or not. Let's go ahead and search.

00:02:36Let me see this real quick. Okay. So unfortunately, the taste mask is not a real product,

00:02:40which is expected, but there are some products on the market that basically do this sort of thing.

00:02:45So I'm going to go ahead and buy it and then we'll see whether or not it works.

00:02:47So unfortunately, the taste mask itself doesn't exist, but there is actually something out there

00:02:51right now. And it's technically not Zach's product that masks the taste of basically anything. And that

00:02:57is Miracle Berries. So Miracle Berries is actually a real fruit. And what it does is it turns things

00:03:02that are super sour into sweet slash palpable. So then you could eat basically anything. So I have

00:03:07lemon juice right here, the sourest thing in existence and also some malt vinegar. So we have

00:03:13two things that you definitely don't want to take on directly into your throat. And so before I put it

00:03:17there, I'm going to have some of these Miracle Berries and see if I could mask the taste. So you're

00:03:20going to take two of these and eat it. Now I'm letting it coat my tongue. My mouth is fully

00:03:25coated.

00:03:26Let's see if it could mask the taste. So we're going to start with lemon juice. If I don't react,

00:03:29you know it worked. Tasted really good. I can't lie. That tastes like lemonade. No bitterness whatsoever.

00:03:42So that clearly worked. So let's do some more and I'll do some malt vinegar and try to mask some

00:03:46taste

00:03:46also here. This one's going to be a bit worse because it's malt vinegar. I love malt vinegar, but not

00:03:57directly. Fire. This is really good. I'm going to take another sip. Actual Miracle Berries. But just

00:04:04know that even though Zach D Films has not technically made that product, that product does

00:04:08exist, as you just saw right there. All right, we have another Zach D Films product here. This one's

00:04:12called the DeSalter. Get it? The DeSalter. The Zach D Films. Okay, you get it. And it's patent pending

00:04:18also. So I don't know if he's working on this or what, but let's see what this entails.

00:04:21If you dump too much salt into your soup, simply dip the DeSalter into the bowl.

00:04:26Mmm, okay. So it removes the salts. This definitely exists, right?

00:04:32The salt ions. Just desalination.

00:04:34compartment inside the handle. Then the food soup flows back into the bowl, making it less salty.

00:04:41I'm going to go ahead and check out whether or not this is real. I feel like it might be,

00:04:44but at the very least, I'm going to get some desalination packages or something and we'll

00:04:48be able to pull the salt out of water. Okay. So unfortunately the DeSalter doesn't exist.

00:04:52It's not a real product. It's just the patent pending series that Zach D Films does,

00:04:56but there is a way to technically remove salt from water. Actually an easier way. It's called

00:05:02desalination. And you have these little filters that you basically throw into the water and then

00:05:06it soaks up all the salt to remove it. So let's see if it works. I'm going to count this

00:05:09as Zach D Films product. So he owns desalination packs. So we're going to take all this salt right

00:05:15here and I'm going to pour this in this tub. There we go. And I'm going to mix it around.

00:05:22Okay. And now that it's all mixed in, we're going to take Zach D Films Desalter,

00:05:27AKA the desalination packs and throw this filter into here and let's watch the magic happen. So we'll

00:05:33let that cook for a little bit and we'll see if we can extract some of the salt and we'll

00:05:37know if

00:05:37this desalter works. All right guys. So it's been 24 hours since we use the Zach D Salter and I

00:05:43have

00:05:43these desalination packs and hopefully they soaked up all the salt or I think they soak up all the

00:05:47fresh water. So there's no salt that gets soaking up. Okay. So they definitely took a lot of water

00:05:50and the goal is to see whether or not they took some of the salt out as well. There's only

00:05:54one way

00:05:54to find out. I will be taking a sip of this and I will let you know if it's salt

00:05:57water or fresh water.

00:06:00Ew. Wait, this is straight salt water. Wait, what is a desalination pack supposed to do?

00:06:05Okay. So apparently they turned salty water into safe drinkable fresh water. I mean,

00:06:09I guess it technically did it, but that was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like grape.

00:06:13And honestly, this thing kind of does have like a purple hue to it a little bit. So I don't

00:06:17know

00:06:17what that's about. Maybe they're like grape flavored or something. I am not a fan of that.

00:06:20I thought that was going to go a lot differently than it did. So Zach D Salter, even though that's

00:06:24not your product, don't create that product because that product is a straight up one out of 10.

00:06:27I'm sure it's good in survival situations, medically, et cetera. But in terms of just drinking the

00:06:31water, it's not good. There, I said it. Now he's not technically a shorts creator, but across all

00:06:35of his clips, he's probably the most popular person on short form platforms. And that is

00:06:39I show speed. And this is his product right here. It is a Doritos by Ruffles flavor swap,

00:06:44which is actually kind of insane. There you'll see I show speed on top with his signature and

00:06:49everything has his name right there too. Kate chat. This flavor swap is a W. I'm swapping the Ruffles

00:06:54cheddar and sour cream flavor with Doritos bold crunch. Open a bag. You'll see. Now I don't really

00:06:59like Ruffles that much, but I do like Doritos. And so what is this going to look like? It looks

00:07:04like a lighter Dorito. Okay. What does it taste like? Ooh, that's interesting. The first bite

00:07:10is Dorito-esque. Then it turns into a Ruffle and now it's back to a Dorito. The flavors were swapping.

00:07:14So I have to say it's doing what is advertised. The flavor is swapping between Doritos and Ruffles.

00:07:19So I like this. I think speed actually put himself on a pretty good product. So I'm going to give

00:07:22this like a nine out of 10. Only reason it doesn't go higher is because I'm not like the biggest

00:07:25Ruffles fan, but I could see people rating this probably 10 out of 10. Good job speed. So on that

00:07:28note,

00:07:29there's actually another collaboration with Doritos for a flavor swap from another shorts adjacent

00:07:33creator group. And that is dude perfect. So this is their flavor swap. It's Doritos cool ranch and

00:07:39Ruffles. So whereas speed just had the classic ones, they're going with the cool ranch here.

00:07:43You got all the guys up top. Greatest athlete of all time right there. And on the back,

00:07:46welcome to flavor swap. We added Doritos cool ranch flavor to Ruffles and created the perfect chip

00:07:51they claim. It's a behind the back, no look snack. You got to try. Okay. I like that. Good dude,

00:07:56perfect marketing. Let's give them a try. All right. So these actually look more Ruffles. So

00:08:00you could tell Ruffles are like the main chip here, but then they do have the cool ranch flavoring.

00:08:04So very interesting combination. Oh, they cooked again. I'm not the biggest Ruffles guy, but it

00:08:10works here. I think it's the cool ranch seasoning on this. So I think overall, this is one of the

00:08:14stronger chips. Also a nine out of 10, not many notes on this. And that's not the only dude,

00:08:18perfect product we have because they have something even crazier beans. So the beans right here

00:08:22are called serious bean. And this is a company founded by dude, perfect. So yes, that's right.

00:08:27Dude, perfect sells beans. And I think the most interesting one here is the Dr. Pepper sweet and

00:08:33sassy beans. There's a lot of things going on here and they have a lot of different flavors. These are

00:08:36pretty hard to get your hands on. So I don't know if they're discontinued or they're just sold online

00:08:40or something, but we are going to try these and we're going to see whether or not they're good.

00:08:43Okay. Let's start off with these Carolina gold beans. Let's take some beans out of here. All right.

00:08:49Cheers. Good baked beans. I'm a big baked bean guy though. So I'm a little bit biased here,

00:08:55but pretty good flavor on those beans. Before we go to Dr. Pepper, let's do the hot honey baked beans.

00:08:59I'm a big, big hot honey fan. So I'm sure I'll love this. Give it a try. Not as good

00:09:05as the barbecue

00:09:05ones, but still pretty solid. Now the moment we've all been waiting for it. Dude, perfect Dr. Pepper

00:09:10beans. Wow. You don't even see the beans on top. Whereas these other ones, you can start to see the

00:09:14beans. This is just straight Dr. Pepper and juice. Okay. Dr. Pepper beans.

00:09:19Oh, it tastes like Dr. Pepper. It's weirdly good. That's why I'm so confused right now.

00:09:23They might just be the best of the three. Dude, perfect Dr. Pepper beans. And just all these beans,

00:09:28I'm going to have to give an eight out of 10. They're pretty good beans. It's brought down a

00:09:31little bit because these hot honey ones were a bit disappointing, but these two right here are

00:09:35solid nine out of 10 beans for baked beans at least. Really good. So good job, dude, perfect. This is

00:09:38beyond a YouTuber product. It's a solid bean. So we just saw speed. We just saw dude, perfect. And this

00:09:43isn't really a short screener, but I figured we throw it in as well because this is the last one

00:09:46of this

00:09:46three-headed dragon. We have Madison Beer Cheetos by Lay's flavor swap. Missed opportunity. It's not

00:09:53beer flavored. Instead, it's sweet Southern heat barbecue and Cheetos. And there you have Madison

00:09:58Beer. So let's see if Madison Beer knows how to make a good Cheeto. So the flavor for these look

00:10:03like

00:10:03standard Cheetos, maybe brushed a little brown. It's got some barbecue flavoring on it. I'm a big

00:10:07Cheetos puff guy. Cheetos, maybe. Cheetos puffs? Yes. But these aren't puffs. So I think they're

00:10:14stale or something. June 2nd, 2026. All right. So Madison Beer looks like we have some stale

00:10:19ones. So this is going to go in the can't rate. But if I were to rate it, I would

00:10:23give it a four

00:10:24out of 10. The flavor itself, not that great. Something about sweet Southern heat barbecue

00:10:27on a mid Cheeto, not a good recipe. The next YouTube Shorts Creator product we're going to

00:10:31be looking at is from Vsauce and it's called the Curiosity Box. What is the Curiosity Box? Well,

00:10:37you're probably naturally curious, which means that this box is for us. So I had to get this off of

00:10:40eBay. I don't know why, but this is the limited edition box. I know he sells boxes on his website,

00:10:45but I think every quarter or so or season, they filter them out with new ones. But this is the

00:10:49most sacred one of them all. So we're going to see whether or not this is any good. I like

00:10:52Vsauce.

00:10:53Vsauce is a staple of the Shorts community. You've probably seen his videos in the past. Let's do a

00:10:57little unboxing. So first things first, we have a rabbit. Oh, you know what? I think this is one of

00:11:01those optical illusions where depending on how you look at it, it could be different things. So right now,

00:11:05you guys can probably see a bunny. There's the ears right there. There's the eye. But then

00:11:09now you're going to see a bird because there's the beak right there and there's the eyes. I mean,

00:11:13if you look at it from the front, it's most certainly a bunny. But if you look at it here,

00:11:17look at that. It's a duck. Very cool Vsauce. It's cool that you like made a stuffed animal out

00:11:21of that. In addition to that, we have curious egg molds. Oh, I see. So they're all different molds

00:11:27that you can make an egg. And actually previously I did this in a square shape with an egg. I

00:11:32was able

00:11:32to turn a hard boiled egg into a square. That's exactly what these molds are. Then we have some

00:11:36stickers here. We also got this periodic snail pin. So I think it's just like the periodic table,

00:11:42but on a snail kind of fun. And then last but not least in Vsauce, the shorts creators curiosity

00:11:46box, we have a t-shirt with surfs up party punch. Okay. And then it gives you an ingredient list.

00:11:52And this does not look like something you should eat because despite being the party punch recipe,

00:11:56it gives you ingredients like nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda,

00:12:00which you should definitely not put in your mouth. Overall, I'm going to give this a solid

00:12:039.3 out of 10. Pretty fun one. When you think food YouTube shorts creator, who do you think of?

00:12:07The answer, regardless of what you said, is Nick DiGiovanni, who is the largest YouTube shorts food

00:12:13creator. I'm pretty sure. And we have Osmo salt, which is his salt. So I'm going to give it a

00:12:17try.

00:12:17And then we're going to rate it one through 10. Pretty nice packaging. O-S-M-O. Clever. I don't

00:13:48kind of make your eyes bigger is that what people wear these for now they come in like varying lengths

00:13:52so it goes from small to large right to left there so i guess i'm gonna try to put this

00:14:44hot ones so hot ones has their own line of pringles first we feast presents hot ones los

00:14:51calientes rojos pringles oh take a smell guys oh smells like a ghost pepper okay pringles what do

00:14:59you got for me here wow lots of spice on this not that spicy i'm pretty tolerant of spices so

00:15:05i'm not

00:15:06like really feeling it but i do think maybe if you're somebody susceptible to spiciness you may not like

00:15:11these because now it's starting to kick in a little bit but they're definitely leaning into it taste

00:15:14wise though a little bit missing it's just like a hot pringle basically so i'll give the taste like

00:15:18a 6 out of 10 but that's not the only thing that hot ones has so let's see another product

00:15:22that they

00:15:22made they have a smoky chili ramen noodle soup this is it right here and it's pretty easy to put

00:15:26together so here's the ramen noodles and then you take these different packs so this one is the

00:15:31smoky chili soup base open it up pour it in see if sean evans has a good product here take

00:15:37the

00:15:37veggies how is this veggie dried chives gotta have your veggies so let's pour that in

00:15:42and then last but not least and this is the hot one special you could turn up the heat with

00:15:46this

00:15:47bonus heat pack right here of course we're gonna choose to do so we're going to accept sean evans

00:15:52hottest wing all right and dump that in all right then just like ramen we're gonna load this up with

00:15:57some water put in the microwave and i'm gonna see what this looks like three two one all right

00:16:04we'll see if this hot ones ramen is any good okay well let's give this a try now

00:16:10it has some good flavoring to it i'm kind of tempted to just drink this broth

00:16:14yeah that's actually got some good flavor to it it's definitely a little bit spicy so they're not

00:16:18lying about turning up the heat it's not unbearable spicy but it definitely does pack a punch

00:16:23wow all things considered i mean this is a pretty powerful ramen right here like this satiates me it's

00:16:29satisfying and i'd probably eat an entire thing of this i might even do it so i'm gonna have to

00:16:32give

00:16:32this hot ones ramen maybe like an 8.5 out of 10 just because the noodles themselves aren't like

00:16:37too too good but the broth and all those little mixing things are great i like the heat level too

00:16:41so good job hot ones really good product the next youtube shorts creator product we're gonna take a

00:16:45look at is from max the meat guy and his max jerky texas barbecue flavored looks like it was made

00:16:51in

00:16:512023 and the tagline is low and slow and it has superior texture and maximum flavor but i'll be the

00:16:57judge

00:16:57of that so let's see if max's shorts translate to a really big that's not the opposite of shorts but

00:17:02you understand product okay here we go looks good looks peppery looks like standard jerky it's actually

00:17:07kind of wet so it's not super dry wow i have to say this is very good it tastes like

00:17:14good jerky i mean

00:17:15it's got all the ingredients here that you would hope for you got some brown sugar on here you got

00:17:19some beef you got some soy sauce interesting shout out to max the meat guy i think he's everywhere he's

00:17:23on like shorts long form tiktok instagram but in terms of shorts creator products this one stacks

00:17:27pretty high up so i'm gonna have to give this a solid 8.5 to maybe even a 9 out

00:17:32of 10 good job max

00:17:33the next youtube shorts creators product we're gonna look at is none other than the largest tiktoker

00:17:38hobby lame and his product right here hobbies hobbies what is that chaos casa hobbies casa okay so

00:17:46really bad start right here but this is the nut chopper so kabi is gonna chop your nuts up using

00:17:52this

00:17:52device right here there he is with the hands and everything has anybody else made more out of so

00:17:57little than kabi lame doing that shout out to kabi lame but how is his nut chopper now kabi is

00:18:05technically on youtube i think he has a pretty good presence on there a couple mil right but he's a

00:18:10little bit of an outlier because he's the only tiktoker in this video but maybe he can emerge and have

00:18:14the best products i don't know all right so here it is this is the nut chopper looks like you

00:18:18just put

00:18:19it in there stir this and then it breaks up the nuts to the bottom and then you could collapse

00:18:22them out pretty nifty so i have mixed nuts right here open them up come on kabi chop these nuts

00:18:29oh yeah what is the purpose of this again is this just to chop nuts for like salads or something

00:18:36so after about 30 seconds this is what i got i'm not even kidding this might be the worst product

00:19:15i was doing it like this when you do it the right way it's really not bad if you need

00:19:22not like the worst product i've ever seen like i said earlier i'll give this though like a

00:19:26four out of ten i just don't see the utility of it kabi but that's not the only thing we

00:19:29from kabi lame because we have another product of his the garlic crusher so social media

00:19:34sensation kabi lame elevating everyday cooking with humor and innovation now i don't think he's a

00:19:39cooking adjacent creator so i'm not sure why kabi is in the kitchen makes more sense to do it with

00:19:43like a nick di giovanni but nonetheless let's see if it even looks like that too that'd be pretty

00:40:54sugar in it because it does have flavoring it says the moment you unleash breath death bad breath starts

00:45:34we get into this moss plus actually at the time this recording was just announced to be discontinued

00:45:39so unfortunately it didn't fare well in the markets nobody was drinking this nobody was buying this

00:45:43despite his global appeal it just shows bad product equals off the shelves wasn't moving any

00:45:48units let's figure out why this is what the bottle looks like just says moss plus it kind of looks

00:45:52like

00:45:52a prime i'm not gonna lie now on here there's a lot of things to call out i mean first

00:45:56off they call out

00:45:57that moss equals more so i don't know why we need to know that sure in spanish moss equals more

00:50:18distancing themselves so i'm gonna give these a try but so far all the signs point to being something i'd

00:50:22like i like fruit snacks especially like sour i don't like red 40 and i like unspeakable

00:50:29and strawberry is the flavor here just to give it a fair shot i will try the apple and the

00:50:32strawberry go apple first wow that's good tastes like a real apple very like deep flavor

00:50:38strawberry now i have to say it tastes very true to the apple and strawberry flavor it's not super

00:50:45sweet so if you like sweetness you might not like these but if you want something probably healthier

00:54:49it also just kind of conveys like sickly like i don't know i don't really like like the name of

00:54:53too much and apparently a lot of other people don't either because they're actually shutting down so this is

00:54:57basically a discontinued product at the time of recording we were sometime in late august of 2026

00:55:02in about two months this thing is completely gone so we got our hands on it also notably the one

00:55:05that i purchased seems to be expired april 9th 2026 this one's even march 27th 2026 and this one is

00:55:13february but of 2027 so the only one that you should be actually drinking is this one according

00:55:18to the expiration date but i'm going to try all three so the first one here is strawberry and this

00:55:22is

00:55:22rapid hydration plus focus 25 calories not bad it does have a little bit of sugar but that's probably

00:55:27the electrolytes four month expired hydration drink it's an enhanced electrolyte beverage so it's

00:55:33probably very hydrating for you good for your body i don't like that i'm not gonna lie i don't know

00:55:39if it's because it's four months expired but that is not that tasty that is not something that

00:55:43i'd want to be putting in my body and i usually don't say that if it's usually a low calorie

00:55:47it's usually fine but that just tastes a little bit funky but maybe i'm not a strawberry guy

00:55:51so let's go ahead and try now orange hibiscus this has the same exact macronutrients same
