00:00My mother ended up signing her rights away, which means by state of law that she's no longer my
00:03mother anymore. And that really broke me because I didn't do anything. I ended up moving to New
00:07York with my father at the age of 14. And my father was very timid, very lover, not a fighter.
00:13My dad couldn't control me. I'm 14 years old. I'm on Long Island News. Like, have you seen this
00:17missing child? I tried to commit suicide at least eight times in my life. I got put into a foster
00:21home, into a group home, actually. So I was so sad. After that, I started to act out. I started
00:27become very defiant. I started to fight. I started to run away. And I ended up getting put on
00:32probation at the age of like 13 years. And they decided to just let me go from my dad, from
00:37juvie
00:37to my dad's care because I was doing such a good job in the jail. They just let me, like,
00:41she's a good kid. But the school district didn't want me really into those. The school district
00:45didn't want to accept me because the high school didn't want to accept me because, you know, of my
00:48past. So I ended up, I remember I wrote a letter to my father, like a goodbye letter. I put
00:54a pretty
00:54dress on. I took a shower, did my hair, and I laid down in bed thinking I was going to
00:58like, this is
00:59my last night I'm going to live. And I woke up the next morning and I was like, my skin
01:02was like
01:03gray and black and like blue. And I was shaking like crazy. I ended up walking to school and I
01:09almost got hit by a car. So they ended up sending me upstate to Buffalo. I got put into a
01:12group home
01:14and that group was okay. It was co-ed. It was boys and girls. And I became the good kid
01:18that I always was.
01:19I graduated from Buffalo.
