00:04where a just-sneaking-in-missed state plays Missouri.
00:10And Mississippi State, in this exact, you know,
00:13there's a little bit of a love-hate relationship I have.
00:17The hate is I faded them last week, and I thought I absolutely nailed it.
00:2316-0 South Carolina.
00:25We clipped this team at the right time.
00:28Fantastic.
00:30And 23-14, as we were closing in on halftime, felt fine enough.
00:38And then you could just see the wave coming,
00:42and there was nothing they could do to get out of it.
00:45And the wave is Kamario Taylor.
00:47And that's where the love comes in, because Kamario Taylor,
00:54let's be very clear, I think Lamar Jackson
00:57was the most electric college quarterback I have seen.
01:00My Rolodex doesn't go back as far as everybody else, but that's what I thought.
01:04The only player I can think of when I see Kamario Taylor is Lamar Jackson.
01:08And I, like, that's, like, that's it.
01:11So Kamario Taylor is not someone I'm going to get in front of again.
01:17There will probably be spots, but no thank you on doing that back-to-back weeks.
01:21Here's what I am going to do.
01:23Bet Kamario Taylor for 50 rushing yards.
01:26First time as a starter, he didn't clear that number.
01:28Last week, he finished with eight.
01:30He was sacked three times.
01:31The South Carolina edge rushers, you know him well.
01:34And that, obviously, is going to be a part of the puzzle.
01:36Now, Mizzou has done a really good job getting to the quarterback,
01:40but they haven't played a Kamario Taylor yet.
01:43Kamario Taylor had multiple games with 50 rushing yards
01:45when he wasn't even the starting quarterback last year for Mississippi State.
01:50This is an electric, electric player here, Dave,
01:53who has found himself with top three Heisman odds.
01:57Like the AP poll or some, you know,
02:00people may be just a little bit behind here on Taylor,
02:03but the sports books are not.
02:05This guy's buzzing right now.
02:07No, this guy's been great.
02:08And I told you this last week when we were talking about Mississippi State,
02:12South Carolina, that I had Mississippi State rated as my worst,
02:15number 16 team in the power rankings when I did it.
02:19And that's because I didn't know how good Kamario Taylor would be.
02:21And he single-handedly has brought this team into the AP poll,
02:25which nobody thought they'd be at 3-0.
02:27But I do think, Kevin, this is a step up in competition.
02:30And listen, everything you said about Kamario Taylor is correct.
02:33He's electrifying.
02:34He's 10th in the nation in passing efficiency,
02:36180 yards rushing on the ground.
02:38He faces a Missouri defense that's second in EPA per pass,
02:42fifth in Havoc, and 16th in total defense.
02:45Allowing only 226 yards per game.
02:47He has not faced a defense that's as good as Missouri's.
02:50Now, granted, Missouri hasn't played anybody,
02:52although they did beat Kansas in the border war.
02:55But I do think that laying six and a half points is a little bit of an overreaction
03:01to what we've seen.
03:02Yes, Mississippi State has gone out on the road,
03:05and they beat South Carolina, and they went on the road,
03:08and they've won a couple of good games.
03:10But they're also a team that ranks in the bottom 10 nationally and pressures in sacks
03:16while Missouri ranks second in the country in pass protection.
03:18So I do think that six points is a lot.
03:21I'm going to hop on Missouri.
03:22I have Missouri on my card.
03:24Not that I don't like Kamario Taylor.
03:26I think Taylor's good.
03:26But the one quarterback that's getting lost in the shuffle is the guy on the other side,
03:31the one who was the starting quarterback at Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin,
03:35the guy who would potentially still be leading Ole Miss to a national title type situation
03:41if he didn't get injured and basically insert Trinidad Chambliss.
03:45Trinidad Chambliss was not the starter at Ole Miss.
03:48Austin Simmons was.
03:50Now, Trinidad Chambliss leads this team to the national semifinals,
03:53doesn't go to LSU, and stays there.
03:55Austin Simmons goes to Missouri.
03:57He's been great.
03:58QBR of 75.5, sixth best rating in the nation, second in the SEC.
04:04He's been really, really good for a Missouri team that's 3-0.
04:08So it's a battle of two really good quarterbacks, albeit in different ways.
04:12I'm taking the points in this one.
04:13I'm going to take the six.
04:14I grabbed it at 6.5 earlier in the week just because I'm not sure that Mississippi State
04:19is ready for an actually good defense in Missouri.
04:22I'll do credit for them beating South Carolina last week.
04:25You had it.
04:27I was with you.
04:28I saw 16-0.
04:29I'm like, Kevin nailed this one.
04:31But South Carolina is not a good football team.
04:33They're not.
04:34And I'll be fading South Carolina pretty much the rest of the way.
04:38I just think if this was, Kevin, if this was two and a half, I'll take Mississippi State.
04:43I'll take Kamario Taylor here.
04:44He'll make a play.
04:45He'll win the game.
04:46And they very well may win this game and be 4-0 and be in the top 20.
04:50I just think that's a lot of points for a really good defense and a really good Missouri team
04:55that's kind of sneaking under the radar.
04:57They're good on offense and they're good on defense.
04:59I'm not saying they're Tennessee or Florida or whatever.
05:03They've been ranked all season.
05:05They're a good, good team that people are sleeping on.
