00:00Oh, boy, it's a climate week clash as world leaders gather in New York to celebrate their sustainability accomplishments.
00:09Climate activists crash an AI event accusing tech companies of fueling climate change.
00:15Watch.
00:16You care and say you care about sustainability?
00:19You admit it 15 million times, 15 million times of CO2.
00:24AI has the potential to drive net emissions reductions.
00:28There you sit there while people are suffering from the consequences of data centers and AI.
00:35These corporations and data centers are responsible for climate disaster.
00:42All right. Joining me now is Mark Marano from ClimateDepot.com.
00:46We love that site. Executive editor there.
00:49And he was featured as a speaker during Climate Week.
00:52OK, so let me get this straight.
00:54You were the speaker at the climate conference.
00:58Yes. My organization, CFACT, we actually signed me up to be a speaker and the group allowed it.
01:04Then about three weeks later, they realized, wait a minute, this guy doesn't fit in here.
01:08And they didn't cancel me. They actually said we're committed to free speech.
01:11So I was able to speak at a panel and I mentioned explicitly that they have to stop.
01:16It was about instilling climate action into the youth.
01:19I said, you need to stop scaring kids.
01:22I use their words. We need diversity, tolerance. We need dissent.
01:26We need to allow professors to dissent on this.
01:29I talked to him about offshore wind, whales.
01:31I talked to him about how EVs aren't green.
01:33We went to I went to the entire thing.
01:35And amazingly, the audience agreed.
01:37And it's hard to think back, you know, so many years ago when literally any professor who opposed the idea
01:44of climate change was, you know, basically thrown out of the profession.
01:49I mean, it was we really there really was a tyranny around this ideology.
01:53So explain to me this clash now, because you have Bill Gates in a fight with Al Gore.
02:00Bill Gates, who was a big climate guy, and now he's not because of A.I.
02:05Yeah. Well, these students are seeing protests.
02:07They know instinctively that A.I. is killing the climate hoax.
02:11Bill Gates came out right before the last U.N. climate summit and said climate is not a catastrophe.
02:17We need human flourishing. This made heads explode.
02:20Al Gore shows up at a U.N. climate summit attacking Bill Gates as being wrong, as being bullied by
02:25Donald Trump.
02:26And these activists know that Larry Fink, ground zero for the whole financial scam of climate change from BlackRock, has
02:33publicly announced that A.I.
02:36cannot be powered by solar and wind.
02:38You need dispatchable power like fossil fuels, coal, oil, gas, nuclear.
02:42And so that's so interesting because Larry Fink was pushing all the climate.
02:45All of it.
02:46But now that it interferes with A.I., now, OK, so that's very revealing.
02:51So the students are correct that their agenda is being ripped out by their fellow activists.
02:54You know, so A.I. just means that it's doomed for them.
02:57Yeah. In a lot of ways.
02:59OK, so let's talk about affordability, because it's interesting.
03:01They're at the climate conference.
03:03They see this vulnerability of affordability.
03:05They think it will hurt the right.
03:07So they're they're like fighting for affordability.
03:09But how do you get affordability if you're not for fossil fuels?
03:12Because you need cheap fossil fuels if you want prices to come down.
03:15Well, they get it for very simply through a fantasy engineering.
03:19They say solar and wind are coming on.
03:21All we have to do is basically ban fossil fuels and solar and wind will will just take over because
03:26this magical like power.
03:28Gore always says, like, you know, there'll be an explosion of technology.
03:31Same thing they did with cars.
03:32They wanted to ban the gas powered car and they thought EVs would just overtake.
03:35EVs never got higher than seven percent.
03:38And even the Toyota CEO said, I think we're about at max about, you know, maximum purchase.
03:42So what we're seeing is the implosion of the whole, as you said, climate hoax.
03:46How much of this has to do with President Trump?
03:48I don't think he gets enough credit for having destroyed this movement.
03:52We have to say this in the last 50 years, this was FDR, Ronald Reagan style action.
03:58Just look at what Donald Trump did on the climate event.
04:01Over 300 actions as president to unleash American energy.
04:04And here's the key thing that Donald Trump did.
04:06Permanence.
04:07He's pulling us out of the 1992 Rio Earth Summit treaty that George H.W. Bush got us into.
04:13That's unprecedented.
04:14We're officially out in February.
04:16Makes it much harder for a future president, AOC or Gavin Newsom, to get us back in.
04:20And he's also ending this endangerment finding, which is essentially regulating carbon dioxide.
04:27We inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide as humans.
04:30That exhale is regulated as a pollutant under the Clean Air Act.
04:34And even though the Clean Air Act never mentioned it.
04:36So he's trying to get unelected bureaucrats to no longer have the power to regulate all aspects of our economy,
04:42from meat eating to gas stoves, et cetera.
04:44So he's doing a level of permanence that even Trump 1.0 didn't go after.
04:49Oh, yeah.
04:50I don't think he gets enough credit for what he's done in that space.
04:53I'm really glad you're bringing that up.
04:54And I think it's an important topic for people to consider as we move into this midterm election.
05:00He is absolutely transformational.
05:02And it was a tyranny.
05:04It's hard to think back on how things were.
05:06Mark, you've always been on the forefront of this.
05:08And we thank you for for for doing the good work of going into the climate conference and facing those
05:14people.
05:14Thank you so much for joining.
05:15Thank you, Rachel.
05:16You got it.
