ಭೀಕರ ಬರಗಾಲದಿಂದ ಕಂಗೆಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಇಂಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಚಡಚಣ ತಾಲೂಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗಿಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಾಸಕ ಯಶವಂತರಾಯ ಗೌಡ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರು ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 28 ರಂದೇ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.ಮಳೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು ಒಣಗಿವೆ, ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೇವಿನ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಭಾವ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಆಡಳಿತ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಶಾಸಕನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಭ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಬೆಲೆಯೇ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ' ಎಂದು ಶಾಸಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಪತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಭಾಪತಿ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್. ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ ೨೨ ರಂದು ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಪತ್ರ ರವಾನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸದನದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವಿಷಯ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದ ವಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕ ಆರ್‌‍. ಅಶೋಕ್, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು 'ನಾಲಾಯಕ್' ಹಾಗೂ 'ರೈತ ವಿರೋಧಿ' ಎಂದು ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಟೀಕಿಸಿದರು.

Karnataka Congress MLA Yashwantharaya Gowda Patil offered his resignation after Indi and Chadachana taluks in Vijayapura district were excluded from the drought-hit list. The MLA had earlier submitted a representation seeking drought relief, citing crop losses and shortages of drinking water and fodder. He expressed dissatisfaction that his requests had not received due consideration.
The issue was raised in the Karnataka Assembly, where Opposition Leader R. Ashoka criticised the Congress government over its handling of the drought situation. The resignation letter was later rejected by Assembly Speaker G.S. Patil on procedural grounds.
