ಹಾಸನ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಹಿಂದೂ ಮಹಾಗಣಪತಿ ಶೋಭಾಯಾತ್ರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಸರ್ಜನಾ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ವೇಳೆ ಪೆನ್‌ಷನ್‌ಮೊಹಲ್ಲಾ ಮಸೀದಿ ಎದುರು ಕೆಲಕಾಲ ಬಿಗುವಿನ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಮಸೀದಿ ಎದುರು ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲ ಯುವಕರು ಕರ್ಪೂರ ಹಚ್ಚಿದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಳ್ಳಾಟ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಲು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿದರು. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಆಜಾನ್ ಮೊಳಗಿದಾಗ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋಷಣೆಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬಂದವು. ಘಟನೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟರು.

A tense situation was reported during the Hindu Maha Ganapati procession and immersion celebrations in Hassan. As the procession passed a mosque in Pension Mohalla, some youths reportedly lit camphor, following which a brief scuffle and pushing took place. Police intervened and moved the procession forward. When the Azaan was heard as the procession passed the area, slogans were also raised by some participants. Police personnel were deployed to maintain order and the procession continued.
