00:00As Morocco goes to the vote on Wednesday, the parliamentary elections are being closely watched as a test of citizens'
00:07faith in the political process.
00:10The vote comes as the country marks one year since youth-led demonstrations swept the nation, calling for jobs and
00:18better public services.
00:19Youth unemployment is another major issue. While the economy grew by 5% last year, unemployment stands at 13%.
00:30Among young people, it's much higher. But few expect the election to change things.
00:37Citizens aged 18 to 24 account for 12% of the population, but make up just 4% of registered
00:46voters.
00:48In July, thousands of young Moroccans flooded into the Spanish enclave of Suerte in search of a better life.
00:56Most soon returned home, but say they have little to look forward to, and have little faith that the vote
01:04will change that.
01:06Election promises, one young man said, are just empty words.
