00:00bank transfer credit card or p2p what is the best method for you to buy bitcoin or cryptocurrencies
00:08within 2026 a cryptocurrency platform can advertise say zero deposit fees and still be
00:15one of the most expensive places for you to purchase bitcoin that is because the visible fee
00:21is only part of the transaction right the real cost can eventually include things like platform
00:27fees trading spreads currency conversions all bank charges card processing fees credit card cash
00:36advance charges p2p merchant premium payment provider cost or withdrawal network fees so
00:44what we did was to build a a better framework where you know we've gave it a proprietary
00:51uh all in acquisition cost title so instead of asking what is the advertised fee we actually
00:59ask how much money leaves my account and how much crypto value do i actually receive right so that
01:06produces some very interesting conclusions bank transfer usually the strongest starting point for
01:13larger or recurring purchases uh if local deposits are free and you use a liquid spot market the cost
01:22can be dramatically lower than buying directly by card right a card usually wins on convenience and speed
01:30but a card transaction can stack platform processing spread effects issuer charges etc and credit cards add
01:39another risk right some issuers may classify crypto as a cash advance and that can include or introduce fees and
01:47potentially immediate interest as well when you think about the p2p method often advertised as zero fee
01:54but the real cost may sit inside the merchant's exchange rate right so if usdt is worth for example
02:0118 rand in south africa in a liquid market and a p2p seller charges by 18 36 so 18 rand
02:1036 that zero fee purchase already
02:14has um you know contains that in an effective two percent premium and that's what we call the uh dn
02:21p2p premium
02:22and uh we've got a proprietary tool for that you can check out the link in the description but the
02:27right payment method
02:28also kind of changes uh uh with transaction sizes right because for a hundred dollar purchase
02:34paying a few dollars for convenience may not matter much or uh for a ten thousand dollar purchase a 3
02:41.5
02:42convenience premium will end up totaling to somewhere around the 350 dollar mark at a hundred thousand
02:50it becomes three thousand five hundred so you can kind of see how quickly those fees can
02:55arise and that's why kind of a percentage based card fees become much harder to justify as the
03:03purchases get larger so we also look at the real world payment structures across different exchanges
03:10let's say binance p2p uh 6io uh change now uh luno vala etc and compared how kind of our local
03:19bank
03:20transfers cut purchases instant bank payments so that's ach ciba p2p uh can actually change the
03:29economics of those transactions so to just kind of make the research genuinely useful as well for you
03:35guys we also built the crypto buy true cost calculator so you can enter for example a purchase amount
03:42on platform fee spread fx markup a bank charge card fee cash advance costs p2p premium payment provided
03:52charge withdrawal cost and compare the effective purchase uh kind of our buying power of a bank
04:00transfer or card or p2p side by side basically so i think it's a very interesting tool and the cheapest
04:08way at the end of the day is usually not the method with the smallest advertised feed that's something
04:13to keep in mind always it is usually the method that leaves you with the largest amount of crypto
04:18after every layer of friction has been accounted for so that number is worth comparing go check out the
04:26guide it's on our main site the link to the full guide is in the description and also you can
04:31get the
04:31affiliate links to the platforms that are best recommended and you can do your own research as well
04:37like share subscribe turn on the notifications and i'll see you guys in the next video peace
