Catholic Mass Today I Daily Holy Mass I Sunday September 20 2026 I English Holy Mass
Transcript
00:14In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
00:17Amen.
00:18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with
00:22you all.
00:23And with the Spirit.
00:24The gospel tells us about God's generosity and how we should never compare.
00:31That's always a futility.
00:33So as we come to celebrate these sacred mysteries and know God's abundant love, let us call to mind our
00:40sins.
00:42I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts
00:50and in my words,
00:52in what I have done and what I have been to do, through my call, through my call, through my
00:58most previous call.
01:00Therefore I ask, Blessed Mary, ever-herging, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray
01:08for me.
01:10May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
01:16Amen.
01:16Lord, have mercy.
01:18Lord, have mercy.
01:20Christ, have mercy.
01:21Christ, have mercy.
01:23Lord, have mercy.
01:24Lord, have mercy.
01:26Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill.
01:31We praise you.
01:33We bless you.
01:34We adore you.
01:35We glorify you.
01:37We give you thanks for your great glory.
01:39Lord, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God,
01:50Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world.
01:54Have mercy on us.
01:56You take away the sins of the world.
01:58Receive our prayer.
02:00You are seated at the right hand of the Father.
02:03Have mercy on us.
02:05For you alone are the Holy One.
02:07You alone are the Lord.
02:09You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.
02:16Amen.
02:19O God, who founded all the commands of your sacred law upon love of you and of our neighbor, grant
02:25that by keeping your precepts, we may merit to attain eternal life.
02:29Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
02:35God, forever and ever.
02:37Amen.
02:39A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah.
02:43Seek the Lord while he may be found.
02:46Call him while he is near.
02:48Let the scoundrel forsake his way and the wicked his thoughts.
02:53Let him turn to the Lord for mercy, to our God, who is generous in forgiving.
03:00For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
03:07As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above yours, and my thoughts above
03:16your thoughts.
03:18The word of the Lord.
03:20Thanks be to God.
03:26The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
03:37The Lord is near to all earth, all upon him.
03:47Every day will I bless you, and I will praise your name forever and ever.
04:00Praise the Lord, and highly to be praised.
04:05His greatness is unsearchable.
04:14The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
04:36The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
04:48The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
04:59The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
05:18The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
05:34The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
05:39A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians.
05:43Brothers and sisters, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
05:51For to me, life is Christ, and death is gain.
05:56If I go on living in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me.
06:01And I do not know which I shall choose.
06:04I am caught between the two.
06:06I long to depart this life and be with Christ, for that is far better.
06:13Yet that I remain in the flesh is more necessary for your benefit.
06:19Only conduct yourselves in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ.
06:23Christ, the word of the Lord.
06:26Thanks be to God.
06:31Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
06:52Open our hearts, O Lord
06:56To listen to the works of your Son
07:08Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
07:19The Lord be with you.
07:21And with your spirit.
07:22A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
07:26Glory to you, O Lord.
07:29Jesus told his disciples this parable.
07:33The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner
07:37who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard.
07:41After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage,
07:45he sent them into his vineyard.
07:48Going out about nine o'clock,
07:50the landowner saw others standing idle in the marketplace.
07:53And he said to them,
07:54You two go into my vineyard,
07:57and I will give you what is just.
07:59So they went off.
08:01And he went out again around noon
08:04and around three o'clock and did likewise.
08:08Going out about five o'clock,
08:11the landowner found others standing around
08:13and said to them,
08:14Why do you stand here idle all day?
08:17They answered,
08:18Because no one has hired us.
08:21He said to them,
08:22You two go into my vineyard.
08:26When it was evening,
08:27the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman,
08:30Summon the laborers and give them their pay,
08:32beginning with the last
08:33and ending with the first.
08:36When those who had started about five o'clock came,
08:39each received the usual daily wage.
08:43So when the first came,
08:45they thought they would receive more.
08:47But each of them also got the usual wage.
08:51And on receiving it,
08:52they grumbled against the landowner saying,
08:55These last ones work only one hour
08:57and you have made them equal to us
09:00who bore the day's burden and the heat.
09:04He said to one of them in reply,
09:07My friend,
09:08I am not cheating you.
09:10Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage?
09:14Take what is yours and go.
09:17What if I wish to give the last one the same as you?
09:21Or am I not free
09:23to do as I wish with my own money?
09:25Are you envious because I am generous?
09:31Thus, the last will be first
09:34and the first will be last.
09:39The Gospel of the Lord.
09:41Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
09:44I believe in one God,
09:46the Father of my heart,
09:48the neighbor of heaven and earth,
09:50for all things fiscal and ages.
09:52I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
09:56the only one without the Son of God,
09:58for the Lord of the Father,
10:00before all ages.
10:01God from God,
10:03of life and life,
10:04through God and through God,
10:05the God not made,
10:07the Son of the Son of the Father,
10:09through him all things obeyed,
10:12for us to send in our salvation.
10:14He came down from heaven,
10:16and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate
10:19under the Virgin Mary,
10:20and became man.
10:21For Christ's sake,
10:23he was crucified in a Pontius Pilate.
10:25He suffered death and was buried,
10:27and rose again on the third day,
10:30according to the Scriptures.
10:32He ascended into heaven,
10:33and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
10:36He will come again in glory
10:38to judge the living and the dead,
10:40and his kingdom will have no end.
10:42I believe in the Holy Spirit,
10:45the Lord,
10:46giver of life,
10:47who proceeds with the Father and the Son,
10:49who have followed the Son,
10:51and adored the Lord for God,
10:53who has spoken through the prophets.
10:55I believe in one holy,
10:57Catholic, and apostolic Church.
10:59I confess one baptism
11:01for the forgiveness of sins,
11:03and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
11:06and the life of the Lord to come.
11:08Amen.
11:09For those struggling with addiction,
11:11depression, loneliness, or despair,
11:13that they may encounter the compassion of Christ,
11:16receive the help they need,
11:18and discover renewed hope
11:19in the mercy and love of God.
11:21Let us pray to the Lord.
11:23Lord, hear our prayer.
11:24For the success of our upcoming apologetics retreat,
11:28that the Holy Spirit may bless all who attend,
11:31deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith,
11:34strengthen their love for Christ and his church,
11:37and equip them to share the faith
11:40with charity and confidence.
11:42Let us pray to the Lord.
11:43Lord, hear our prayer.
11:45For protection from hurricanes and natural disasters,
11:49that God will protect our Gulf Coast
11:52and all vulnerable communities
11:54from hurricanes and destructive storms,
11:56keep safe those who respond in times of disaster,
12:01and bring comfort and assistance
12:03to those who suffer loss.
12:06Let us pray to the Lord.
12:07Lord, hear our prayer.
12:09For our deceased relatives and friends
12:11and all who have departed,
12:13that they may be gathered into the eternal joy
12:15of their heavenly home.
12:16May they rest in the peace of Christ.
12:18Let us pray to the Lord.
12:20Lord, hear our prayer.
12:22For all the prayer intentions in the prayer basket,
12:25the prayer chain,
12:26and those that we hold in the silence of our hearts.
12:36Let us pray to the Lord.
12:37Lord, hear our prayer.
12:40Almighty God, we thank you for all your blessings.
12:43May we always know your unconditional love for each of us.
12:46May we do our best to respond to your love
12:49by loving one another.
12:50Through Christ our Lord.
12:52Amen.
12:59Be still, my soul, the Lord is on your side.
13:10Be still, my soul, the Lord is on your side.
13:18Be still, my soul, the Lord is on your side.
13:21Lead to your heart, to our earth and the light.
13:31In every change, he prays over the day.
13:42Be still, my soul, the Lord is on your side.
14:18May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands.
14:22The praise and glory of his name.
14:25For our good and good of all his holy church.
14:28Receive with faith, O Lord, we pray, the offerings of your people.
14:31That what they profess with devotion and faith may be theirs through these heavenly mysteries.
14:37Through Christ our Lord.
14:39Amen.
14:40The Lord be with you.
14:41And with your spirit.
14:42Lift up your hearts.
14:44We lift them up to the Lord.
14:45Let's give thanks to the Lord our God.
14:47It is right and just.
14:49It is truly right and just.
14:50Our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks.
14:54Lord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal God through Christ our Lord.
14:58For he is the true and eternal priest.
15:01Who instituted the pattern of an everlasting sacrifice.
15:04And was the first to offer himself as a saving victim.
15:07Commanding us to make this offering as his memorial.
15:10As we eat his flesh that was sacrificed for us we made strong.
15:13And as you drink his blood that was poured out for us we washed clean.
15:17And so with the angels and archangels.
15:19With thrones and dominions.
15:20And with all the hosts and powers of heaven.
15:23We sing the hymn of your glory.
15:25As without end we acclaim.
15:31All the hosts and blood.
15:33Holy, glory, glory, glory above.
15:33Holy, glory, glory above.
15:40And the throne of your glory.
15:48Hosanna, Hosanna in the high.
16:24CHOIR SINGS
16:32The theologians tell us that at every Mass,
16:35heaven and earth come together.
16:37And if you have lost a loved one,
16:39the closest you can be with them here on earth
16:42is at Holy Mass,
16:43because they're present at the Mass
16:45as you are present at the Mass.
16:46So think of your loved ones now at the banquet of heaven,
16:50united with us tonight
16:52as we do what Jesus asked us to do.
16:55You're indeed holy, O Lord,
16:57the fount of all holiness.
16:58Make holy therefore these gifts, we pray,
17:01by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
17:04so that they may become for us
17:05the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
17:09At the time he was betrayed
17:11and entered willingly into his passion,
17:13he took bread and giving thanks broke it
17:15and gave it to his disciples, saying,
17:18Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
17:21for this is my body,
17:23which will be given up for you.
17:33In a similar way, when supper was ended,
17:35he took the chalice,
17:36and once more giving thanks,
17:38he gave it to his disciples, saying,
17:40Take this, all of you, drink from it,
17:42for this is the chalice of my blood,
17:44the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
17:47which will be poured out for you
17:49and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
17:53Do this in memory of me.
17:56Amen.
18:01The Mystery of Faith
18:10We proclaim your death, O Lord,
18:16and profess your resurrection.
18:31We proclaim your death, O Lord,
18:38and profess your resurrection
18:45until you come again.
18:53Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
18:55of his death and resurrection,
18:56we offer you, Lord, the bread of life
18:58and the chalice of salvation,
18:59giving thanks that you've held us worthy
19:01to be in your presence and minister to you.
19:03Humbly, we pray that partaking of the body
19:06and blood of Christ,
19:07we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
19:10Remember, Lord, your cherished bread
19:11throughout the world
19:12and bring her to the fullness of charity,
19:14together with Leo, our Pope,
19:16Lewis, our Bishop,
19:17and all your people.
19:19Remember also our brothers and sisters
19:21who have fallen asleep
19:22in the hope of the resurrection
19:24and all who have died in your mercy.
19:26Welcome them into the light of your face.
19:28Have mercy on us all, we pray,
19:31that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
19:32Mother of God,
19:33with Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
19:35with the Blessed Apostles,
19:36and all the saints
19:38who have pleased you throughout the ages,
19:40we may merit to be coheirs
19:41to eternal life
19:42and may praise and glorify you
19:45through your Son, Jesus Christ.
19:48Through him and with him and in him,
19:52O God Almighty Father,
